cc_star Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Well, we've let them look amazing going forward Kasper should have easily had the corner... and Morgan & Bamba are marauding up the pitch all the time has cost us... WTF are they doing. SSL & Konch are being given the runaround at fullback, generally being AWOL, even Wellens has even been dragged out there on more than one occasion. WTF is the back line doing? Going forwards we've done pretty well, Wellens has slotted plenty of useful balls through & Danns has forced himself through plenty. We need more from the two forwards and the four defenders if we're to avoid a whitewash. And who knows what could happen if we grab one

Need to take chances like that away against Chelsea. Still shitting myself every single time they come forward though, looks like they could easily score with every break!

RowlattsFox Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 We've had a go but thats the problem, far too open. Should have started with 5 in midfield with hindsight. Done ok going forward but can't life with their pace and movement. Could be a thrashing if Chelsea fancy it. Danns done ok winning the ball, should have scored though. Konchesky and Morgan done ok to a point. St Ledger getting found out at right back.

onecapwonder Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Odd decisions from Pearson. Probably should have started 4-5-1 with matching numbers in midfield and trying to keep it tight, then if need be go to 4-4-2. I can't really see how he could justify being light in midfield to support Beckford and Nugent against Chelsea's defence, we've miss-fired against plenty of Championship teams, using 2 up front from the start here seemed extravangant. Now we're 2-0 down and hes gone from 4-4-2 to 4-5-1, should be able to see more of the ball but at 2-0 Chelsea can sit deep and hit us on the counter with Torres + Sturridge.
kingfox Posted 18 March 2012 Posted 18 March 2012 Encouraging last 10 minutes in my opinion, looked much better and found shape and got on the ball. Bamba is having a shocker though, St Ledger looking all over the place in parts. Best player for me has been Danns, Beckford doing better than Nugent aswell.
