Mocking ginger people is akin to belittling the ugly or overweight, it isn't nice and probably shouldn't be encouraged but to compare it to overt racism is just pathetically childish and entirely missing the point of why the latter is such an enormous problem.

But calling somebody 'chinky' because they have oriental looks is surely more akin to mocking somebody for being ginger than advocating the enslavement or exploitation of a racial group?

By using ginger as a derogatory term, the implication of inferiority is the same.

I can't help but think back to the summer when everyone was on their high horse about the state of the Bristol forum and its racist posters. I'm beginning to get the impression we aren't much better as a group. The volume of unapologetic posts defending the use of an incontrovertibly racist term is just embarrassing.

No he doesn't but, as obviously tongue in cheek as he's being, he does need somebody to let him know he's somewhat out of touch. You're a bad son if you let him continue to go around thinking it's an ok term to use.

You really are quite obnoxious arent you. Is it not obvious that when people, myself included, come on to the Leicester City section, we come to read peoples opinions and views on the football team. I came on this topic when I got in from work to see whether new videos/ pictures had been added to be met with atleast 4 pages of people throwing their dummies out their pram over an innocent (maybe slightly naive) word. Frankly im not interested in that and I dont see why I should have to trawl through aload of off topic nonsense just to try and find any posts that are actually related to what I want to read about. Thats why there are different sections on this forum. Its not rocket science!

Why is that so hard for you, and the others talking about this, to understand? This thread definitely needs a clean up as I want to see pictures / videos etc and not chatter about the term 'chink'. Moderators, where art thou?
