Leicesterpool Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 We need to attack, but we need to close the game down for Peterborough. In my team sheet I've gone with 5 at the back having Bamba in a central defensive role. Know it would seem unlikely but I think Mills needs to be recalled ,Tunchev doesn't seem fit. I wouldn't mind Nugent coming on in the second to get the winner.
Happy Fox Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 Are their any players in the Peterborough side that could do well for us? I liked the look of that Paul Taylor when he played against us, George Boyd has his qualities but is Gallagheresque, but still would do well here. Any thoughts?
Burmesefox Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 this would be my team talk ala John Sitton Sitton Leyton Orient http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obixCOVTVwY - 1.2 mins pure genius! Right you bunch of coonts........do not under estimate the opposition. No prima donnas out there, no moaning and whinging, this is about hard graft and upping the tempo. If we go toe to toe we'll be all right. If we sit back and let them play then we will lose. This game is all about belief whilst keeping our heads but the under****inglying principal here is that hat we have to trade punches and get at them. Sure they'll have a go as they do at home but **** that or you ya little cahnt and you yer big cahnt can team up if you want, and yer can bring yer dinna...etc.
Dan Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 opinions? Horrendous, no offence but 5 at the back AND a defensive midfielder? We'll just be inviting trouble onto us. There seriously is no logic what so ever in inviting teams onto you/sitting back, teams with enough quality will break you down eventually, and if they don't have the quality to do that.... well, I think you could've got away with going for it yourselves. Mills won't feature again so a waste of time starting him. I'll say 4-4-2; Schmeichel Peltier - SSL - Morgan - Konchesky Marshall - Drinkwater - Bamba - Dyer Beckford - Schlupp Subs; King, Wellens, Nugent, Kennedy, Howard Bamba I think is capable of the role, I think he's just got to be a little less erratic/ambitious whilst he's there, he'll actually win us the ball, he just needs to make more sensible choices when passing it, and that's do-able. Failing this you've got Wellens/King on the bench, either could come on and help us out but they're both a bit rusty. Nugent's in need of a rest and could definitely change things if he came on. Schlupp, said it after Forest but he needs more game time for next season so he can actually gel with the team even more. I'd like to see him given a few more starts, think he's got a lot to offer us. Peterborough 3-1 Leicester; Tomlin (2), Barnett...Beckford
Area88 Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 Wow, I have to remind myself I'm on the Leicester forums and not the Posh forums. The bookies have Leicester as 6/5 favourites to win tomorrow.
CasperBlue Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 Get your money on then Area88, and spend your winnings on a few drinks in Charters.

We were favorites against Forest, Barnsley, Bristol City, Doncaster and also Portsmouth still didn't beat them!

FuriousFox46 Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 It seems to me that FuriousFox hasn't managed to free himself of his debilitating contempt of all things Posh, to the point that he has become obsessed with making up stories to justify his psychological problem.
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 Kasper Pelts SSL Morgan Konch Bamba Drinkwater Dyer Marshall Nugent Beckford Posh are pretty much all out attack at home, giving the front 4 licence to run wild. If we're defensively sound, don't see any reason why we shouldn't win this! That's a fookin big IF Simmo!
Simmo86 Posted 30 March 2012 Posted 30 March 2012 That's a fookin big IF Simmo! I know it's in our locker somewhere! I hope.....
lcfcadam Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Was fast asleep dreaming about falling in love with a cute American guy when my alarm clock rudely interrupted at 6.20 this morning. Now waiting at Manchester Piccadilly looking forward to a 3 hour train trip. But then this is Peterborough away - it'll be worth it
strattylcfc Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Need wellens in squad we really did miss him midfield didn't look right
onecapwonder Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Need wellens in squad we really did miss him midfield didn't look right I agree. Went to the Forest game and having Bamba as the deepest midfielder really didn't work. It wasn't really Bamba's fault a lot of the time players just wouldn't pass to him even when he was completely free or the best option, they didn't seem to trust him, he tried a few ambitious cross field passes at the start which didn't come off and the rest of the team seemed to give up on him. It really hurt us as we were effectively attacking with one less player. He doesn't seem to have the awareness of where to move to help the central defenders pass the ball out from the back and he would really struggle to cover the space in front of the back 4 if there was no opposition player there, against Forest Majewski played there and he man marked him well. If we don't have any other midfielders I'd prefer Pearson to play Bamba in a back 3 and have wing backs, then allow Bamba to come out of defence and run at the opposition if plays allows it. Hes much better at playing up the pitch, either accurate long passes or excellent runs, than he is at playing across it, which is a lot of the job for a defensive midfielder.
savagefox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 There will be one grumpy police officer in Peterborough today. I work for Cambs police and I will be working the game today. Anyone walking past the London Road entrance will see me very grumpy enjoying my fellow Leicester fans. When we score, look out for me trying to stay calm.
BrumFox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 opinions? this is absolutely shocking where is the width? let alone a functioning midfield? and why would be so ultra defensive against one of the poorest defences in the league? can people stop thinking bamba is a god in midfield, he isn't! gotta be 442 or at a push 4231
TheUltimateWinner Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Kasper © Pelts St Ledger Morgan Konchesky Vassell Drinkwater Dyer Marshall Nugent Beckford Subs: Bamba, Howard, Wellens, King, Hopper
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Schmeichel Peltier St Ledger Morgan Konchesky Marshall Drinkwater Dyer Nugent Beckford Schlupp Subs: Bamba, Kennedy, King, Howard, Hopper After the poor attacking show against Forest, I think we should try 4-3-3. If Nugent was the same as he was against Forest (tired) then we can take him off for Bamba and revert to a 4-4-2/4-1-2-2 position. Either way, a win is a must today

onecapwonder Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 think it was 4-1-2-2 Pretty much. Bamba stayed as a DM through and didn't link up with Marshall and DD much, so not really a midfield 3.
