chavdonk Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Now obviously we need to make some changes to the playing squad but who would you get in and what would they bring to the team? Who would you get rid of and why? Would you keep Np if so why? if you'd get rid and replace him, who'd be your ideal choice and why? Keep things realistic... In: Ross Wallace (Burnley) great delivery from set piece and we've badly missed a good wide option, not got a bad shot on him and can also fill in at left back as cover. If not Wallace then I'd go for Commons from Celtic not popular or liked By Lennon up there and is a good player in championship as we all know. David Barral (Sporting Gijon) a good striker, a good in the air and a decent finisher available at a decent price probs £2m do the trick, i personally think he is a good player and would be very effective at this level. In terms of replacing Matt Mills i wouldn't as I don't think that if we had a ball winning midfielder in front of our back four we'd concede half as many goals as we have done so I'd go for Dickson Etuhu from Fulham...not getting a look in sitting on the bench and good at what he does in the middle of the park. I'd sell or get rid of: Steve Howard, as much as I like him he's too old, Pantsil release him, not worth his contract if he can't even get a look in, I'd get rid of Bamba to the highest bidder as well as Mills. I don't rate Dyer his lack of quality is clear to see, I'd release Weale as he is garbage. Manager change as well, never thought I'd want this but I'd like to see Billy Davies here, NP can't cope with expectation which is why he does well at clubs that need rebuilt, I don't think we need that just a few tweaks and good disciplined pre season.
Mark_w Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 In - Anyone Nigel wants. Out - Anyone Nigel deems to not be good enough or anyone who he thinks will have a negative influence behind the scenes. That's my wishlist.
davelcfc100 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Now the season is over (please don't say it's not) I think we should be preparing for next season ie giving some of the youth some games, Pier Larrauri, shclupp,Tom hooper and George Taft are some of the players that for me be given trials in the 1st team/longer game time, agree or disagree?
chavdonk Posted 31 March 2012 Author Posted 31 March 2012 I'd agree with you there let them get the experience they need however I don't think he'll do it as it will look like he's given up to the owners etc will be good when this season is over mathematically and people can go watch a game without hope or expectation and it being swiped from underneath us as it has been all this season. Do you have any players in particular that you'd like to bring in?
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Whatever Nigel Pearson does it will be alright with me
FrankieADZ Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 padded seats...why?...cos I hate them plastic ones for a start...cheaper pies aswell On the playing front...i think there will be changes, needs to be tbh, Sven imo left the squad unbalanced. and we generally need an injection of hungry young talent; kinda like what he was doing at Hull tbh.
Fox92 Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 I'm not going to deep into transfer ins, anything could happen between now and the summer. Although we should prepare, we don't know who is getting released, transfer listed etc. However, I think we need a right back, a left back, a left winger, a holding midfielder maybe and a mobile target man. We need someone with a good delivery. For example, when we played Nottingham Forest, every one of Andy Reid's set pieces were fantastic. I'm not saying him, but, someone with a great delivery. Not sure about out's yet, although maybe Howard unless he is good around the camp as mentioned before. 100% Gallagher out though. Players like Dyer are not good enough either.

Agreed but not sure our owners will see it that way. The maths say it could be done so untill they say it can't I don't see NP using the kids. IMO

Do you have any players in particular that you'd like to bring in? I agree, I think it's a shame, the players I mentioned have had nothing but constant praise yet the pressure from above means talent like there's may be wasted or we will be watching them shine under another team, players in-well I'm begging to not want players I generally would want if that makes sense, reason being I get excited about a certain player signing then they massively under perform, I trust np will bring some good young players in and do a good Job next year like he has this year in Marshall and drinky, I fear that np will be sacked as this would be a massive mistake in my eyes, he has never been a manager to sign big name players for over priced fees therefore he brings in good solid performing players that are usually off the rader as such, he gives the youngsters confidence to play and over time imo this can only take us in 1 direction,UP!
Babylon Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 The attitude/mentality and application of our players needs to change, failing that the players with the correct attitude/mentality/application will be needed to replace those without. We have a decent bunch, our results against the top teams shows that. The record against the bottom half for me is more about attitude, application and mentality.

FoxinLeeds Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Could be a few changes. I think Pearson will get rid of Mills, Tunchev, St Ledger, Bamba, Nugent. Beckford, Weale, Pantsil, and maybe Vassel. In will come a physical striker, a goalscorer, keeper, 3 centre halfs, a right back strong midfielder and a winger. I can't see many of the above playing as they are either not in the team (Tunchev, Mills, Weale, Pantsil, Vassel - although injured), have not been in the team until suspensions or injuries brought them back in (Bamba, St Ledger), or do not have the attitude Pearson wants (St Ledger, Mills, Beckford). I think that we may try a different type of forward line next year with a goal poacher and target man which could well do for Nuge. I also agree that I cannot see Pearson playing the untried kids, although I expect Schlupp to play more than this season
Libertine Dream Posted 31 March 2012 Posted 31 March 2012 Whats the point in us making these decisions/wishes when its unlikely to happen, its down to Nige and what he says goes and I dare say overall itd better than any of us could do.

Firstly, Football Manager and real life are different things. We're all brilliant scouts at the click of a button and know how much to bid when it's a game. Secondly, you're wanting to bin Dyer after one ineffective game of late. He's been top notch recently and actually wants to play for Leicester and shows a desire which reflects that. And thirdly, Pearson can't cope with pressure?! What a load of bollocks. What exactly do you think he had when he first arrived here?! Everyone expected us to get back up at the first time of asking. Do me a favour, go and play Football Manager for another 12 months and come back to make a judgement on Pearson then.

He hasn't solved the problems he was brought in to do so... as for Dyer I've never rated him.. yes he can run but what good is that if you can't deliver a final ball? Football manager my arse, I suggest you step out of the gaming world and into reality and realise our squad isn't fulfilling what is expected of them, and who's meant to make that happen...the manager! Not meant to be! So shut up winging and take a reality check we're not where we want to be and because of people liek yourself making excuses we're never going to be cos you always have to make an argument! As for football manager... referee's on that game aren't half as stupid as the ones we get in real life so what can you argue for them???? Mug!
ozleicester Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 I am not going to get foxtel (coz we arent in the premier league yet again). I am not going to get up at 2 am for midweek games, coz we are sh1t midweek, I am not going to get sucked into stupid discusions with brain dead fans on message boards,
Daggers Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 In: free tickets, better pies, carpets in the toilets, halftime activities like bungy jumping & hide'n'seek, a team with pash'un, three points (at least) from every game, more face painting, dangerous wild animals caged around the edge of the pitch and tits. Lots and lots of tits (the nice kind). Out: everything shit.

Frank_mckenzie Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 As we all know this season has been over for a while so looking to next season we still need new players as the ones we have aren't capable except a few. The tactics of 4-2-3-1 is a system I like but in all honesty I can only see 5 or possibly 6 players who have done enough this season to keep their places with everyone elses under threat and they are kasper, konchesky, danns, dyer, Marshall and nugent. It's pretty obvious that we need to sell and buy quite a few players so we may have a chance next season. What would everyones opinions on this matter?
Cecchini1976 Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 I would like to see a left sided player to compete with Dyer, a new right back and a midfielder who can control the game a bit like Mark Davis when he was on Loan here
FrankieADZ Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 I can see us using that formation on the odd occasion but not all the time as i think 4-4-2 is NP preferable formation. I agree with you on the players you stated aswell. I can see a Midfield nxt season of Marshall,Drinkwater,Danns,Dyer. tho all depends whether or not they go etc. I can see NP getting rid of a few too....Mills,Howard,Wellens..maybe even Gally
Craig Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 We a tough ball winner in the middle of the park, a decent right back, another winger, and a new 'plan B' up top.
LCFC_Peter Posted 1 April 2012 Posted 1 April 2012 yh i agree but i would keep schluup aswell as he is young and can learn and i think we need a new striker instead of Beckford!
