lovelcfc Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 Who can we honestly say wears the shirt with passion for our club? Kasper-yes konch-yes SSL-not sure Morgan-yes dyer-not sure marshall-not been here long enough wellens- used to don't think so any more tbh danns-I would say yes gally-no beckford-no nugent-not sure That's just my rough view on who actually give one about the club
AyewJoking Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 No one cares about the club. Some will do their best but its all a means to an end.
cc_star Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 Given fans reaction to most players I doubt any of them give 2 ****s about us, the personal abuse that has derided from our disappointment/sense of entitlement this season is enough to drive anyone away Now NP has got Danns playing well, he cares, as does Konch... Wellens really does too, you can see it in the games where he plays higher up the pitch. King is the only player who should care, but given the vitriol he faced in a spell of poor form in an otherwise excellent career here before his injury I'd have thought he'd sooner stick 2 fingers up to the club rather than give a shit.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 David Mellor wore a shirt with passion Surely that was for passion.
Guest Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 I thought you'd developed a shirt that included added passion, could've been a sure fire way to appease our fans plus gain promotion next season..... Shame
Houdini Logic Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 Who can we honestly say wears the shirt with passion for our club? Kasper-yes konch-yes SSL-not sure Morgan-yes dyer-not sure marshall-not been here long enough wellens- used to don't think so any more tbh danns-I would say yes gally-no beckford-no nugent-not sure That's just my rough view on who actually give one about the club I think that list is quite accurate - not exactly for 'wear with passion', probably go as far as 'slightly care if we win a game'...
Happy Fox Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 Dyer is chuffed to bits to be at the club. And he needs to be moves on if we want promotion.
cityfanlee23 Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 Completely agree with Schmeichel, I think hes here for long term (if we can keep him)... The way he pulls us out of the s*** week in week out, and screams at the team for mistakes, organising from the back whether hes captain or not, i think he has passion for us, atleast... i hope so!
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 The only players thi season that have consistenly showed passion for the cause are as follows: Schmeichel Konchesky Danns Howard Dyer Marshall (in his short space of time) Nugent Bamba to a degree also
Karljohn Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 Dyer is very quiet, I think Stringer said the other week he never speaks because he's shy! however I think he is LCFC through and through, I can see why Kasper gets the vote but then I could also see him doing what he does at any other club, just like a certain Mr Savage. Kiss the badge then move on. I doubt very much any of them truly care about pride in pulling on the shirt if they are completely honest, I think it filters downwards from international level where players would often talk of immense pride in pulling on the shirt for their country, now they just turn up, look ****ing miserable and go back to their clubs and continue looking miserable. I must say David Nugent has been a pleasure to watch this season, plays with a smile on his face as if he's got his bank statement before his eyes!
leicesterisme Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 Please explain to me how Dyer dosen't wear our shirt with passion?
Daggers Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 No one cares about the club. Some will do their best but its all a means to an end. This needs to be tattooed onto some foreheads. The idea that anyone at this level of the game plays for the shirt is laughable. Morgan was a Forest lad through and through and yet came here at the drop of a hat. It's all about the money.
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 I don't think I can ever recollect another debacle like the one we've had with Mills? There was all the Dennis Wise stuff but his career was effectively over when all that happened. Mills is 25, taking an alleged 40k per week and training with the reserves. That's very very strange and massively needs sorting out one way or the other. Passion... Kasper exemplifies it. We need to keep him here.
stourbridgefox Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 I have a tenuous link with Lloyd Dyer's mum. He loves it at Leicester and about 18 months ago he got my daughter's autograph book filled in by the squad for her. Nice bloke!
Captain... Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 How can you doubt Beckford's passion, sprints 100 yards to tackle back, then still has enough energy to have an argument with NP, that is passion, oh wait this isn't about passion at all, it is just another thinly veiled attack on certain players. Bravo, you almost had me there.
LCFCCHRIS Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 Dyer does. Danns does. Schmichael does , (really passionate about the result, and he was proud to be captain)
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 Schmeichel, Konchesky and Danns express their emotions and obviously do care. Bamba, Nugent and Wellens care too but they don't show it as much as the three above
coolhandfox Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 When will fans learn that passion for a club/shirt is a fans thing not players? They are never going to have the same passion as a clubs fans, unless they are from that area and are a fan!!!!! What players need is a desire to win, whether that be motivated by glory, fame, money, it doesn’t matter!
davieG Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 It's not about passion it's about being fully committed which isn't necessarily visible to onlookers.
onecapwonder Posted 4 April 2012 Posted 4 April 2012 How can you doubt Beckford's passion, sprints 100 yards to tackle back, then still has enough energy to have an argument with NP, that is passion, oh wait this isn't about passion at all, it is just another thinly veiled attack on certain players. Bravo, you almost had me there. Thats not really passion thats just being a good footballer, seeing one of his teammates is out of position and covering for him even though its not his role. As you've said its just a nebulous way to attack certain players, which is odd, there is so much clearly wrong with this team. If people want to have a go at them why choose something so intangible as "passion" unless its just to have a go at player you don't like but can't offer any meaningful criticism of. Screw passion lets have some footballers who can actually play the game to a decent level. Steve Howard looks "passionate", doesn't stop him being useless though. Describing a player as "passionate" is actually a pretty daming condemnation of his ability, essentially you are saying the most remarkable thing about him as a footballer is he gets a bit angry and shouts at his team mates, hmmm. Lionel Messi never appears to be particularly passionate, do you think the Barca fans worry about that when they make these lists on their forums?
