What do we really want?

This seasons inconsistency has really been the bugbear for me. At times we have looked really good and got some great results only to fall at the next hurdle to teams we should beat. I think what I realistically want next season is a team that is consistently hard to beat and can grind out a result when it looks impossible. I suppose we all want to see sparkling football and thrash the opposition every week, but I'll settle for winning regularly and not losing games we should win, not so many silly errors and some espirit de corps. I don't just mean effort and 'passion' I think I mean professionalism, collective professionalism. I suspect that would mean some out and some in, but something has to change.

What are the rest of you looking for next season?

Promotion, you have to aspire to something right?, at first the objective the Thais will set out automatically when that cannot be achieve the playoffs, either way I want promotion, it is easier said that done mind. But with the right mentality and players giving their all for that cause against the Doncaster's of this world and the teams who are perceived to be promotion contenders, than promotion I feel can be done.

35 consecutive 1-0 victories would suit me fine. To all those who would moan about the style of play and lack of goals I would laugh at your every post as long as we gain promotion. The best chance to win is not to concede. Arsenal play football and they have won??? recently. Boring boring Arsenal they managed to win trophies.

It is a results business.

Decent attacking football, a squad that shows its professionalism and is united.

Good atmosphere in the ground home & away with the fans behind the team i.e. no boo-boys

For me its not about pretty football or even winning every game no matter how we do it.

For me its all about having a team of 11 players who no matter go out and give their all for the club.

I remember under O'Neill, we didn't play pretty football, we didn't have any footballing superstars, but we had a well crafted team who went out and gave their all for the whole game. It's fair to say that in our minds as city fans players like Izzet, Elliott, Walsh etc were footballing superstars but in the grand scheme of things they were good players who were moulded into a fantastic team.

The term Foxes never quit was used alot suring those days and it epitomised they way they played! Thats what i want to see - and more often than not that will lead to sucess!

All I want is to be able to say with pride, "I AM A LEICESTER FAN!"

Last season I was embarassed by Sven's transfer policy and treatment of establishd players.

This season I have been embarassed by some of the players' attitudes, Mills, Fernandes, Johnson, Ball, Paintsil, and the fans treatment of the players and the manager.

Next season, I just want to be able to watch my team, and at the end of it whether we win lose or draw feel proud to be a Leicester fan again, is that too much to ask.

I'd personally just like play-offs also I would rather be a team that wins 1-0 and is consistent than a team that thrashes a team one week but gets beat the other also I would like to see our team be abit more nasty at the moment where just to weak

Agreed, the only thing I'd question is the attitudes of people like Johnson and Pantsil, we haven't really seen enough to question how good or bad an attitude they have.

As long as we aren't a laughing stock I'll be happy!

Sven embaressed us with his spending policy, he has made us a laughing stock and worstly we now have a reputation of spending anything to get a player and finally all clubs know we have money now so bump up their asking price "because its Leicester they will spend anything let's take them as mugs!"

Maybe Paintsil is harsh, but he seems like he doesn't want to be here, or he is just happy picking up his pay check, Johnson just frustrated me, it is not hard to get fit when that is the only thing you have to do, and you have all day every day to do so. I was genuinely excited when we signed him, but he has disappointed on a massive scale.

Tell that to Owen Hargreaves - lazy bastard

what do i want, top 2. what would i take, a strong play off push, but i would settle for a squad of drinkwaters, marshalls, vardys, claytons etc and a season of mid table if we had at least invested in young hungry players, not the johnsons and paintsils of this world.

Maybe Johnson is crocked to the point where he will never be match fit again, but I would find that easier to believe if he didn't look like he had been stuffing his face with pies.

and we haven't been getting results. you can't just dream up fantastical situations to try and prove some random point.

I want to see us promoted and I want to see us play some entertaining football. Plenty of teams have done that in recent years with less resources than us. Grinding out results certainly wouldn't be top of my list on it's own, but if it's a means to going up then that must be included.

What I want to see most of all is some good quality football and a team which plays with confidence and pace. I want the crowd to be concinced by the team's displays and inspired to make some noise.

As for the 'the best chance to win is not to concede' argument, ever heard of nil-nils? The best chance to win is to score more than the opposition. A good defence and potent attack is needed for promotion. Look at us when we got relegated, Swansea under Sousa - they didn't concede many, but failed.

The thing is, that would end with the manager being sacked anyway.

I can't say I'd be happy with young hungry players if they achieved the same as the current lot. Coventry have young hungry players but I doubt their fans are proud of their team, and they only have that kind of squad because they're skint.

I don't expect promotion as such but I wouldn't accept a repeat of this season, I want to see significant progress and if we don't get in the play-offs it would be hard for Nigel to justify keeping his job.
