5waller5 Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Again he mentions that the owners are here for the long term. Don't let the trolls from f*&^*t and that 3rd division club get to you people. Yeah to be fair that was a positive from that interview ....
Babylon Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 It would have cost him nothing today to come out and say "look i'd love to tell the fans what's going on but that makes my life hard when i'm negotiating deals etc, so watch this space, I'm determined to get it right for you and will let you know the minute i can". I don't need anything explaining, it's obvious. Why do others?
Webbo Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 You gotta love this place. No one can blame Nigel for the result so now they're moaning about the tone of Nigel's voice.
Guest Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 You gotta love this place. No one can blame Nigel for the result so now they're moaning about the tone of Nigel's voice. They'll be back on his choice of trainers before you know it

Mark_w Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 I don't need anything explaining, it's obvious. Why do others? I'm not only a Pearson fan but I usually enjoy his interviews, today however, he just sounded really depressed, certainly it didn't sound like a normal Nigel interview to me, and even Stringer seemed a lot less upbeat afterwards. Hope nothing has happened to upset him. Great day anyway, nice to get three points against Colin, especially with Waggy coming back and scoring and then the youngster grabbing the winner.
5waller5 Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 When it comes from the same people are are always at him about one thing or another, I think it is that. I can't stand the bloke that's why. I find it alomost impossible to get behind him because of my personal dislike for him. I have had a season ticket for 20 years now and have been home and away for over ten seasons without missing a game, not so many away games now, so please don't call in to question my fan credentials ..... But i simply find it difficult to make a connection with NP with his dour, defensive, stroppy personality. Most mardy people at least have a few minutes off or are entertaining with their moaning. Pearson just makes me mad. I'd really love to be optimistic about him, and hate the fact that I don't like MY club's manager .... and I hope he's successful despite everything ..... I just wish he didn't do interviews at all .... then I wouldn't be reminded how much of a tw4t he is with a reporter in front of him. I don't need anything explaining, it's obvious. Why do others? Because we're not as clever as you, and would like the manager of the club to speak to the fans of the club.
ozleicester Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 I don’t want him exposing his technical tactics Fear not, you would be baffled if he did
Babylon Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 I can't stand the bloke that's why. I find it alomost impossible to get behind him because of my personal dislike for him. So now we are getting somewhere, at least we all know your opinions are based more on him as a person. I have had a season ticket for 20 years now and have been home and away for over ten seasons without missing a game, not so many away games now, so please don't call in to question my fan credentials Who questioned your "fan credentials"? how much of a tw4t he is with a reporter in front of him. Stringer is no reporter, if he were he might be able to get answers. Because we're not as clever as you, and would like the manager of the club to speak to the fans of the club. But so many questions are things he obviously cannot answer half the time. If he gave a straight bat answer in a chirpy way people would still be moaning.
Zingari Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Fear not, you would be baffled if he did i'm baffled regardless of what he does
Spudulike Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Seems that some people just cannot get beyond an irrational personal dislike of Pearson almost to the point of enjoying defeats. I just don't get it myself; he's a 'proper' manager and does it the professional way. If you don't like his interview's then switch off. I think he's superb and love the edgyness. Always worth listening to. Perhaps I've got an irrational like of him. Top bloke, top manager.
ozleicester Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Seriously, is it impossible to suggest that he is in some way not perfect? No one is saying they dont want him to manage (in this thread), a simple statement of fact was made and a question asked as to why... suddenly its a we hate Nigel thing. Grow up, he is a mardy fecker who desnt have enough respect for the person interviewing him or the people listening to him, to offer even a little bit of information or enthusiasm. i'm baffled regardless of what he does , i reckon thats more about you than him
ozleicester Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 He's unhappy/happy he must be leaving he has had an argument with himself and is now giving himself the cold shoulder... he will sack himself in the summer
Raw Dykes Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 It's really not that Babylon. I'm as guilty as anyone for "Pearson Bashing" and yet I heard the commentary today and felt really quiet optimistic about next season and bought momentarily into the "give him more time" camp. Then he comes on to the radio and sounds so depressed and uninspiring and not only gives no information but relishes that fact that he doesn't with a real "i know and it's my secret so fvck off cos I'm the man" arrogance that makes me so angry. As stated on here several times, he is in the entertainment business, if i don't get entertained as a fan then i may choose to do something else with my money and the club suffers ... ultimately he then loses his job prematurely. He just doesn't seem to care about his own job, let alone the fans. It would have cost him nothing today to come out and say "look i'd love to tell the fans what's going on but that makes my life hard when i'm negotiating deals etc, so watch this space, I'm determined to get it right for you and will let you know the minute i can". Oh, come off it. You make it sound like he's a stand-up comedian. Yeah, it is an entertainment business, but you're meant to be entertained by the players on the pitch, not the little interview with the manager afterwards. What's important is how well he gets the team performing, not how happy he sounds or informative he is in interviews. I suppose he could tell us all which players he plans to buy and sell, but this could only have a detrimental effect on our own players' morale, our chances of signing another club's player, and the public's opinion of him being disrespectful of other clubs and their managers by unsettling their players. Why not judge him on what's important?

Running the club properly is more important than the fans getting a bit of gossip, believe it or not.
Zingari Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 If he’s not learned to juggle, ride a unicycle and do at least 50 card tricks before November , I say we should sack him !!
Corky Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 If you want someone to talk openly about players get Harry Redknapp in. Pearson never gives anything away, I don't know why people are surprised.

Running the club properly is more important than the fans getting a bit of gossip, believe it or not. AGAIN... this is not about him revealing sensitive information, i respect that and he should keep that within the club, this is about the fact that he is ALWAYS defensive when he is being questioned and shares NOTHING.. in fact he cannot even enjoy a win because he is scared that Stringer (of all people ) is going to trick him.
Mack Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 Pearson demands a standard of professionalism and performance from his players, win lose or draw of they dont produce it he will tell them. For me, this is one of the reasons why Nigel is the best man to take us forward, he wont stop until he gets what he wants and what he wants is what we want.
brockmyster Posted 28 April 2012 Posted 28 April 2012 He doesn't have the happiest tone in his voice even when he's happy amybe that's his natural tone and can't change it. But I imagine he's pissed off by Stringer asking questions he knows are not going to be answered, perhaps Pearson feels that Stringer should maybe have worked that out by now and stopped asking them. Stringers only asking the questions that the fans want asked really
