Will we be made favourites to get promotion next season?

Recommended Posts

I want Cardiff to go up, simply because we always lose vital games against them.

Oh, and being playoff specialists and my hopes being a top 6 finish next year (lets not go stupid, we all know what happened this year) we'd be bound to end up in yet another penalty shootout with them.

Actually, I might put a bet on now that we meet Charlton in the play-offs and Kermogant gets to take a penalty in a shootout.

Because everyone who finished higher than us this season are irrelevant aren't they. They stand no chance.

24 teams in this division finished higher than Southampton last season and they still went up. We stand a chance.

I don't believe I typed anything contrary to that.

I simply took issue with the glib notion that, before knowing how clubs have traded during the summer, City are going to be one of the Top Two candidates.

Shhhh... Don't mention anything in the way of Leicester being favourites for promotion next season.

I want a quiet and unspectacular summer with little talk of LCFC. Be it from the manager, the players or the owners.

This season, too many people have promised too much and held so little.

(We've done really poorly in past seasons to live up to the hype - we always do best as some sort of underdogs)

I think thats where the bookmakers will put us. not my personal opinion.

Surely you can only state this after the summer spending & squad restructuring/manager firing and hiring has been carried out by all clubs?

Up to this point it's nothing more than guesswork.

Also, bookies odds reflect where money is going - not realistic chances of promotion. This too will be dictated by action over the summer.

Leeds and wolves are favorites above us, we are on par with Brighton.

The three teams that wont get through play offs i predict will also be ahead of us. I'm quite surprised to see us so low but after last season this is welcome :)

It will all change after the summer when they know the the players they have signed

With Wolves down and possibly 2 from Bolton, Blackburn, Qpr and Villa (wigan should stay up) and if Blackpool go up in the play offs that would leave West Ham, Cardiff, Birmingham down plus Charlton (last 2 seasons the winner of League 1 has gone up) Sheff U and Sheff wed come up and I think Forest, Ipswich and Middlesboro will all be stronger then next season the championship will be frighteningly strong but I would make Birmingham fav.

I really hope we are NOT favourites, less pressure.

These tags of favourites do you no favours!

Any squad worth it's salt wouldn't feel pressured by being faves, didn't do QPR any harm.

It's a pathetic excuse to be quite frank for failure.

Im not using it as an excuse but i personally dont think it helps.

To be quite honest i couldnt care less, actions speak louder than words!
