Happy Fox Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Probably a load of shite this article http://www.footballg...unday-29-april/ United Reject Fryers Bid Manchester United have rejected Leicester City’s interest in young defender Ezekiel Fryers. The 19-year-old has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford as his contract expires at the end of the season but an enquiry from the Championship side has been rebuffed by Sir Alex Ferguson who has told both Fryers and Leicester that he is not for sale. In February we reportedthat Fryers had turned down a new deal with United worth an initial basic pay of £1500 a week and was being monitored by Spurs. However, the People newspaper reports that Fryers will quit Old Trafford this summer and will sign a deal with La Liga side Valencia while the Sunday Mirror claims that Newcastle Unitedhave also joined the race for the youngster and are ready to offer him a deal. United will be entitled to compensation for Fryers because of his age but this is only expected to amount to around 500,000 euro (£335,000).
dimmerchant Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 I'm led to believe he's already signed for Spurs.
Mark_w Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Why would we make an enquiry if his contract ends in a few weeks?
Raw Dykes Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Why would we make an enquiry if his contract ends in a few weeks? Could be because there are other clubs after him, or to try and get him cheaper - compensation would have to be paid to Man Utd if we got him on a Bosman because he's 19.
MPH Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Why would we make an enquiry if his contract ends in a few weeks? It could also mean that we were 'willing to take him off their hands' and pay less than the compensation they are entitled for him. Even if he leaves they will still be entitled to compensation under the relatively new laws because of his age.
FrankieADZ Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 Surprised if Man Utd did turn it down, I'd a thought tho if we did put a bid in it would have been less than the £500k reported as possible compo.
Tielemans63 Posted 29 April 2012 Posted 29 April 2012 If he does go to Spurs maybe we could get him from them on a season-long loan? I can't see him getting anywhere near their first team anytime soon so a season with us would benefit all parties.
nickelbyfox Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Ezekiel Fryers never heard of him, but I know Pearson loves his Man U yongsters http://www.click-manchester.com/sport/manchester-united/1216134-manchester-united-reject-leicester-city-approach-for-fryers.html?
foxesfan1989 Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 I know him, plays in the cup for them. No real clue how good he is to be honest
Krimbinho Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 I know him, plays in the cup for them. No real clue how good he is to be honest Young centre back who now plays on the left because he's a bit short for a CB. Can be useful going forward because he is not slow.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Tasty player, Ive always liked my Ezekiels in batter.
Callabinho Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Heard today from a United fan that he wants to leave, he thinks we have put another bid in? If so he is gutted really rates him!
flowwolf Posted 6 May 2012 Posted 6 May 2012 I've heard he is going to Galatasaray so I suppose he could end up being a Fryers Turkish delight .
