RonnieTodger Posted 30 April 2012 Posted 30 April 2012 Has anyone asked Pearson what our plan B was? Surely he must have had something in mind as we never had a back up keeper on the bench for the latter part of the season. IE who would go in goal should he have been unable to carry on for whatever reason?
cc_star Posted 1 May 2012 Posted 1 May 2012 Smith was on the bench for a while, & goalies can be recalled from loans at anytime too which means Logan & Weale are just a phone call away.
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 1 May 2012 Posted 1 May 2012 Smith was on the bench for a while, & goalies can be recalled from loans at anytime too which means Logan & Weale are just a phone call away. That's not the point, we had 5/5 outfield players on the bench and no keeper
Captain... Posted 1 May 2012 Posted 1 May 2012 OH MY GOD PEARSON DOESN'T HAVE A BACK-UP KEEPER ON THE BENCH, AND WE HAVE JUST STARTED PRE-SEASON. :frantics: Sorry, I know that wasn't how you meant it. I reckon Bamba would be an excellent goalkeeper...
5waller5 Posted 1 May 2012 Posted 1 May 2012 He said it was to give him more attacking options on the bench. I agree with him to be fair - how many times do you need a back up keeper. Waste of a sub for me.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 1 May 2012 Posted 1 May 2012 West Ham never had a keeper and look what happened when Green got sent off....they didn't concede a goal
Captain... Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 I think the point was missed, I believe the OP was trying to encourage idle speculation over which of our outfield players would be a decent goalie should the situation arise. Or if anyone knew who NP would put in goal, he had probably considered it, as it is a risk of not having a sub goalie. Like I said Bamba would be my choice, big, strong, athletic I would worry about his positional sense, and he would probably try and dribble it out of goal every time and go on a mad Bamba charge. The other option would be Johnson, who could just fill the goal.
Captain... Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Could have swore I posted in this thread last night. Maybe it got deleted for swearig, did you use foul language? Or were you drunk last night?
LCFC BEAST Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 If he does get injured/sent off then Bamba is the one that would go in goal
Fox92 Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Sent off: If it happens, it happens. Stick an outfield player in goal. Injured: Panic.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 I would rather have 5 outfield players on the bench than 4.
HEGGSY Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 I would rather have 5 outfield players on the bench than 4. We'll be able to have six outfield players and a GK on the bench next season.
Fox92 Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 We'll be able to have six outfield players and a GK on the bench next season. 7 subs again? Where you heard that? (apart from the post in the Championship thread!)
Tielemans63 Posted 2 May 2012 Posted 2 May 2012 Joe Lewis has been released from P'Boro. Might be worth bringing him in as a decent number 2?
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 3 May 2012 Posted 3 May 2012 Joe Lewis has been released from P'Boro. Might be worth bringing him in as a decent number 2? yes definitely (i dont mean it in a sarcastic way either)
