Happy Fox Posted 23 May 2012 Share Posted 23 May 2012 http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/story-16161766-detail/story.html? Former Leicester City manager Paulo Sousa believes the club have all the right ingredients to make a return to the Premier League. The Portuguese coach, who is currently manager of Hungarian side Videoton, said City were ready for promotion and deserved to be among English football's elite under the guidance of current boss Nigel Pearson. Sousa was sacked by City in October 2010 after just three months in charge after a poor start to the season. However, he said he felt an emotional connection to City and would love to see them promoted. But he added that City still need to have patience. "There is a part of me still there and I would love to see success at City," said Sousa. "I am emotionally linked to Leicester and I am always looking for their results. "I think Leicester at this moment have the best squad they have seen in the last seven years to perform, and achieve success. "Success is to get into Premier League, because this club and City belong in the Premier League. They have everything required for that. "Patience, as I always said, is important. "It is difficult because they feel everything around the club is ready to belong in the Premier League, and now they have owners who invest in the squad and in the infrastructure. "No-one has invested like that for the past 10 years. Because of that, all the ingredients are there to perform and achieve. "Sometimes when that is the case you want to change things too quickly. When you change things too quickly, it takes more time. "I always say, money does not buy success, it helps to achieve success quicker. "The club doesn't just want success of promotion, they want to remain successful for a long time." Sousa said he feels next season could be the campaign that City do finally clinch promotion after two years of upheaval on and off the pitch. "I hope so and I would like to see that," he said. "For me the core of the club is the players , but the soul of the club is the fans. "The fans will always be supporting and backing the players. They know they belong to the Premier. "They have never had owners who invest like these and they need to keep motivating them to keep investing. "It is important for everyone to get success as quickly as possible." Load of claptrap from Sousa

Mack Posted 23 May 2012 Share Posted 23 May 2012 What a steaming crock of shit. He couldn't run a bath and why on earth in the short time he was at our club would he have become "Emotionally linked" ? Do we still owe him money based on promotion maybe? I'm emotionally linked to him... If he ever comes near my club again in a professional capacity unless it's to clean the bogs I will be livid! jamesmilner Posted 23 May 2012 Share Posted 23 May 2012 the start of the "can" "could" "might" "should" "think" "possible" talk that just lifts us up so far all we can do is topple down ! hard season for predictions , especially for us . hate all the guessers as most talk absolute nonsence . 9 points from the playoffs last season , 10 if you count goal difference , sousa didnt guess that and not many on here neither ! THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 23 May 2012 Share Posted 23 May 2012 I remember sitting behind the nonce in his first league game against boro, he did my head in. I will never forgive him for his attitude in the abysmal hammering we suffered at Pompey, and for that inept twat he bought in as number 2. Speaking of number 2, thats probably what he means by "there's a part of me still there". Blatantly took a shit somewhere in the stadium when he got booted out the inane cvnt
DanTheFox07 Posted 23 May 2012 Share Posted 23 May 2012 This is exactly what we don`t want, first Ray wilkin`s and now paulo sousa! I hope Pearson tell`s the player`s to steer clear of reading articles on the internet and in the paper`s. Then if that isn`t enough we have the bookies making us 8/1 favourite`s to get promoted. The weight of expectation clearly hurt us last season, but then you could argue what we didn`t have the team capable of promotion last season anyway? I am optimistic about next season based on our home form being the strongest in the league under pearson? I think im right in that statement? anyway the leicester mercury should find something better to do than hyping us for promotion.

It was not the weight of expectation that hurt us last season it was the shit signings made by Sven.Every season should have a weight of expectation or else what is the point of going to support a club who have no intention of trying for promotion. The owners have made it crystal clear they want promotion so why shouldn't the Mercury be " hyping " us for promotion ? They are there to sell papers not to print negativity before a ball is even kicked. Would you rather the bookies the Mercury or the club say we have no chance of promotion and be happy finishing 9th again ?

Guy Posted 24 May 2012 Share Posted 24 May 2012 Going back to the original subject, I don't get some of the vitriol being spat in Sousa's direction here. when the guy's singing our praises basically!! Sure, he was unconventional in interviews and how he came across as a bit of a show off and even arrogant on other occasions but that is just his persona, you can't hate the guy for that surely! Ok, he's not like his fellow countryman Mourinho and he didn't do great in his time here but what's done is done! I. for one was gutted when Pearson upped sticks to Hull in 2010 for whatever reason, leading to Sousa's contorversial appointment - but it wasn't Sousa's fault that our set up wasn't how it had been for him at Swansea previously and the fact that he didn't have an english mentality when it came to coaching and fitness along with his backroom staff. He was trying to get it right by doing things like making the popular signing of Waghorn after his successful loan spell here the previous season, to name a few things - but he didn't deliberately set out to drag the club down and undo all of Pearson's good work from the previous two seasons, it's just the way things panned out for him sadly! I was relieved when Sven came to our immediate rescue, don't get me wrong but what I'm saying here is that Sousa was trying to get it right, it might have been that we were deep in the mire by the time he did had the Thais not acted so quickly by sacking him and appointing Sven but he didn't come here to drag the club back to League One! The stick he's been given by some on here is mind boggling to be frank!

Bollocks did he do you really think Mandy has that much money I think not it was the Thais signing as a make pace to keep the fans on side, his very presence in the semi final playoffs at home undermined NP's work and was one of a number of factors that led to us failing, the players didn't believe in him for starters his training regime every thing about him was so wrong, what makes it even more surprising is the Thais have a close friendship with him, if I was them I would stay well clear.
