Good article, he hasn't had any offers then. Would love to see him return though.

You dont need to be hungry to be determined for success.

Would love to see him back just to see him score one more goal.

Thats probably all he would manage.......

Heskey, the former England international, has been approached by Paul Jewell and Ipswich are hopeful of completing his surprise signing this month.

The 33 year-old is a free agent after his release from Aston Villain May and has been considering his options this summer, with Hull City and Leicester two of the clubs linked.

But Ipswich have emerged as a potential destination over the last 48 hours and initial discussions are believed to have already been held.

Jewell smashed Wigan Athletic's transfer record in 2006 when he signed Heskey for £5.5 million from Birmingham City and is keen to team up with the striker again.

The length of contract has not yet been discussed but it is likely a two-year deal will be offered to Heskey, who can also count Liverpool and Leicester among his former clubs.

He can do better than them, and I believe he will. He is being linked to a few different clubs, I still think a good champ club will sign him. It doesn't look like we are going to though, we do not need anymore strikers.

Only for this man & few others, LEICESTER CITY FOOTBALL CLUB as we know it now, would never have happened,

And still Emile Heskey show's his loyalty to us,

He Knew it would go tits up when Sven was Incharge (My view),

Pearson's mistake if he don't sign him! Revenue wise, footballing wise.

More fool you,

In my view, Pearson is making a massive mistake if he doesn't bring him here.

Don't think he will come now, as Pearson is too blinkered on bringing in youngsters.--Big mistake!

Doesn't look like Pearson wants him, shame. :/

How is it a shame? We've got enough strikers and tbh I wouldn't want Heskey to be one of them he's peformed well in the shirt before but I wouldn't want us to risk signing him him being woeful and somewhat tarnishing his reputation.

I'm a Heskey fan but he isn't coming here. Why are people still thinking he will when we've just signed a 6ft 5 striker who will play the same way as Emile. We have too many stiking options now if anything:

Nuggent

Becks

Vardy

Futacs

Waggy

Schlupp

not to mention Hopper and Blyth.

that's 6 real candidates chasing two positions and 1 on teh bench. Emile? no thanks.

Because for sentimental reasons I'd like to see him in a Leicester shirt again, I don't see how one bad season could tarnish his reputation, you'll still have the memories of his first run, he'll have still paid a six figure sum to help the club in it's darker times, I just can't understand how potentially having one bad season (Which with a solid player who was playing in the World Cup 2 years ago, wouldn't happen) would tarnish his reputation for some people. I also don't want a very good Championship player going to our competition.

my dad said that we dont need anymore strikers because we have enough already, he said theres no room for heskey !

Is your Dad, Nigel Pearson?
