Zingari Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 I do wish my laptop would self-destruct on my demise Is there some sort of one touch short cut that allows you to leave the site and quickly delete browsing history etc and return to some serious looking web page about suffering children in Africa or something, so you could do this as you gasp for your last few breaths ?

A chip that is somehow synchronised with the owners heartbeat?? Get on it!! The potential market is incredible!!
Rincewind Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Problem is as you are gasping for your final breaths you would be hoping that they were not and you would recover long enough for the next session.

Daggers Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 I'm more afraid of being bothered after I'm dead by the cvnts Doris Stoke or Derek Accorah.
Tom17LCFC Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 It does scare me in the way of my mates and family dying. I'm not that bothered about how or when I go, but I can't hack it when someone close to me dies.
Guest Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 I expected more "no" votes I find that interesting. Any believers in most kinds of religion should not fear death. Those of us who see no reason to fear the inevitbale shouldn't fear death. I'm surprised those who believe there is nothing after death fear death (fear being the important word). I can understand why people who think there may be something after death and think that they may fail some kind of test fear death. Interested to hear why you FEAR death.

Guest Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 simply because i like living and i don't want it to stop I don't think you'll dislike being dead - if that's any consolation.
Zingari Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 I don't think you'll dislike being dead - if that's any consolation. Presumably being dead is just like being before you were born , so no, there is nothing to fear , but surely it's better to be alive once you've known life . I find it really hard to think or imagine that things will go on,just as they did before I was born . it is a bit scary
Guest MattP Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Not anymore. Did ten years ago but since then I've been to more countries than I ever imagined and met more great people than I ever thought I would. If I died tomorrow I'd be content with what I've done. How do I want to die? I'll take being an 80 year old bloke who gets shot after the 25 year old guy next door finds out I've been shagging his wife for the last couple of years.

When you die........we all die with you
Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Eternity scares me. Being dead forever and not being is hard to get the head around, but then so is the alternative. Ideally being able to "pop back for a bit" every few hundred years to see how everyone's getting on would be great!

Ideally being able to "pop back for a bit" every few hundred years to see how everyone's getting on would be great! I wouldn't quite say eternity is scary, but I do think that it is death and a fear/respect/awareness of it has driven us forward as a species, all species evolve to live as long enough to mate, and if they didn't then they would die out, but we have taken it to the next level, we have evolved a level of consciousness of our environment and mortality that has meant we have modified 1 to protect from the other.
Corky Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Interesting idea. Maybe we are all part of some higher being(s) reality TV soap. How long we last depends on our usefulness to the storyline. Zingari's definitely from On the Buses.
Tielemans63 Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 I'm scared to drive home now after looking at this thread..

Zingari Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 The chances of you dieing as you drive home are low - but it's possible Oi !! You said everyone is a figment of my imagination, so if you don't mind i decide who lives and who dies
Guest Posted 11 June 2012 Posted 11 June 2012 Oi !! You said everyone is a figment of my imagination, so if you don't mind i decide who lives and who dies I'm a contradictive figment of yor imagination. But you know that I don't really exist.
