If this Arsenal v Blackburn is a draw we could end up with a very busy end to the season.

Would rather have points than games in hand, we still have to try and win them, and one of them is Cardiff City away. Today has been a bad day, however, I never expected Birmingham to beat Watford or Charlton beat Hull.

League does look pretty bad when you look at it now. Our goal difference now is being caught up by a few teams. Makes Charlton an absolute must win for me. Lose that and we could be 9 behind and looking over our shoulders at 7th

Love how we lose 1 game so doom and gloom sets in. Good job people on here aren't managers or even players

A good part of it is how we played and that the other team was bottom of the league.

Id hardly say its doom and gloom is it. But the facts are we are down to 5th now. Yes we have games in hand but the reality is they are against Cardiff and Blackburn which are two hard games. Add that to the fact that we are in a sticky patch in terms of performance levels so the auto spots do look at the moment like a long way away.

Hull play Blackburn this week, so they could drop points.

Two weeks ago we were flying and everyone was confident, we've lost one game and people are suddenly panicking.

Things will twist and turn until May.

We have lost 2 in a row to very poor teams, whilst putting in incredibly shoddy performances both times. As well as getting pretty lucky against Wolves in a sub standard performance and another poor showing in the first game vs Hudders. In reality we haven't played brilliantly since Bristol City away.

Obviously we're still in a great position etc and there is no real need for such negativity and anger across this board but I can kinda see where some of the doom and gloom guys are coming from. If we'd just been edged out in one game against a very good team whilst playing well but being unlucky ourselves I think the reaction would be different.

Don't read too much into the cup game, we were not overly bothered as a team. The Peterborough match was poor but we've got to put it out of our minds and win on Tuesday.

Yeah obviously anyone with sense would ignore the two cup games as they aren't priority and that was clear to see from the way they panned out. Just responding to the earlier post saying we'd lost one game so why all the negativity.

Things are going to be so tight between now and the end of the season. It's still in our own hands though, which is good, plus we've still got games against Palace and Watford. We've proven a few times this season that we can go on a run. We've got a lot of goals in us and arguably the best defence.

Need to start being more consistent and start grinding out results a bit more (although we've done that more and more over the season), get more points away, and just take it one game at a time.

Surely this is most tightly contested 2nd place in this league's recent history? It'll be an interesting ride regardless - let's just hope we're celebrating in 16 games time!

It looks worse than it is.

If we win on Tuesday, we're back in third and snapping at Hull's heels with a game in hand and vastly superior goal difference.

Cardiff are gone but automatic is still well within our grasp.

And so the performances in games previous to that are suddenly forgotten also

Not forgotten but "you're only as good as your last game" is well known for reason.

We missed 2 one on ones in the 2nd half, we just lack composure and finishing technique but apart from that we battled well. Hull certainly aren't up to much.

It's the fickleness of football mate , EVERY team is like it even if we like to admit it or not

ANYWAYS Cardiff Tuesday night , need to be more ruthless in front of goal. Just have a feeling Craig Noone will score against us.

Hull play Tuesday too you know so it'll be two games in hand still. Put it this way, if we lose and they win I do think it'll be playoffs at best

Exactly. The 'if' word is frustrating because we actually need to win the games in hand. Hull play Blackburn Tuesday, which could be tough for them. But I also think Charlton will be a tough game for us.

I'll be captain obvious here and say it: won't it essentially all come down to who wins the most games between now and the end of the season out of LCFC, Palace, Watford and Hull?

Paul Ince appointed new manager of Blackpool. His first home game in charge will be against us. I doubt that will make our day any easier. As the saying goes, there are no easy games in this league.

Cardiff City to give away free red scarves at Brighton game

Comments (56)

Cardiff City will hand out free red scarves to every fan at the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday.

The Bluebirds controversially changed from their traditional blue kit to a red strip for this season.

Malaysian backer Tan Sri Vincent Tan has paid for the scarves which will be given out before kick-off at the Cardiff City Stadium.

"It's a gift and a thanks for people backing his team," said Cardiff City manager, Malky Mackay.

The Bluebirds are currently the Championship league leaders by eight points with a game in hand, and boss Mackay has backed the club's move to hand out the scarves.

"Vincent Tan, our owner, wants to give everyone a scarf as a thank you and appreciation of people's commitment this season and who have backed the team," said Mackay.

"He was there again on Saturday and he will be there on Tuesday night and he wants to give a scarf so people can cheer the team."

Cardiff City unveiled controversial plans to rebrand the club in June, including changing the kit from blue to red and introducing a new badge.

The changes were part of a "major and significant" investment pledge from Cardiff's Malaysian owners but the decision divided supporters of the Bluebirds.

Cardiff's investors Tan Sri Vincent Tan and Dato Chan Tien Ghee believed the change of colour would expand the club's appeal in "international markets".

As well as wearing red rather than blue home shirts - for the first time since 1910 - the Championship club say they will now look into expanding Cardiff City Stadium and upgrading the club's training facilities.

The club's Malaysian owners have pledged £100m investment for squad strengthening, debt repayment and upgrading facilities to get the side to the Premier League.

The scarf promotion, which will only take place ahead of the visit of the Seagulls, will also see supporters given the chance to win a season ticket for the 2013-14 season.

The promotion will run for Cardiff's remaining eight home games at the Cardiff City Stadium, with any fan wearing a red scarf during those games having a chance to win the season ticket.

Cardiff beat Bristol City 2-1 at the same venue on Saturday to keep their promotion push for the Premier League on track.
