morris1234 Posted 12 June 2013 Posted 12 June 2013 Feb 2022. Unbeaten in ANY competition since, may 2020. Win % 79
Dan Posted 12 June 2013 Posted 12 June 2013 Aye I thought the same. I've basically stopped any game where I've won the 'Champions' League as I feel there's literally nothing else to achieve.
Churchill Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 Got promoted with Huddersfield via the play offs, couldn't bring back Vaughan or Danns due to wage demands so brought in Knockaert due to an underachieving Leicester and Juke box from Mboro. Also Hammond from Southampton and 3 players from over seas can't remember names off the top of my head! Knocky won young player of the month but recently got injured! And Juke has bagged 8 goals and we are in October not flying at the moment as I'm currently 15th but il take that so far.
NewburyFox Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 Completed another season at Sedan and finished in 9th place. At times it looked like we might push for promotion but we just couldn't put together a good enough run of form to mount a proper push. The wage bill has had another 15k knocked off it due to contracts expiring, and we've brought in a 16 year old regen and an 18 year old attacking midfielder called Vada on a free (real player) who has enormous potential. He will most likely play alongside Yoann Court and Sliti in the three behind the lone striker. Well into this game now, the club has a cracking academy and I'm looking forward to hopefully challenging for promotion this year. The young players are a year older, we just need a new GK and LB and we should be good to go. Still no transfer kitty so free transfers it is!
Jordan Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 I went 10W-2D-1L in the last 13 games of the season with Bradford to finish 2nd and win promotion to League One in my 2nd season. I did this while slashing the wage bill and being stingy on transfers (all frees except for $12k on a young striker that scored 24 goals, and a few loans). Despite this, the club remains in the red, so I'm assuming our virtual chairman is spending our virtual money on virtual champagne and virtual prostitutes. I probably won't have much to spend on players in the offseason and will likely resort to bringing in more loanees.

Pain isn't it - I had to sell most of my key players, then the fans aren't happy etc. one of the reasons I ended up resigning really, because we made the play offs for two years running (overachieving) then the owners said something along the lines of 'we aren't happy'. I thought, sod this, especially with his control of finances. Meanwhile, ive had a horrible start at Leeds. Thankfully back upto 11th now. Haven't even played 10 games yet though.
Jordan Posted 13 June 2013 Posted 13 June 2013 Supercaleygoballisticcelticareatrocious just offered me their job. While I'm tempted to make the move up north, because the club has an actual transfer budget, I'm leaning towards staying out at Bradford with one year left on my deal. But if I see a financial situation next season like yours, Fox92, I'll move on. Edit to add that it is probably really sad that I'm weighing the pros and cons of both sides as if these were real jobs.
Dan Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Won 2, drawn 3 & lost 1 of my opening games at Aris. Predicted 7th, got a transfer budget of £0 and a wage budget that wouldn't even cover Wellens/Gallagher, they've got some tidy players to be fair.
Finnegan Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Neynar chose,Chelsea over my Betis. I bought him on 12 with a ridiculous Betis team, tried again but he's more in demand this time and I'm just not high enough profile yet. With my army of regens though, I'm not sure I need him!
Bugg Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 In my second season with Leicester, and it's just going awfully. I managed to get Mattia Destro on a free transfer, but he's scored in only one game so far (in the League Cup against Notts County) and has been generally shocking. I'm coming up to the second half of the season just above the Premier League relegation zone, I'll need to have some excellent second half of the season form just to stay up as my players let in stupid goals but finish so many chances (Destro is the main culprit for this). On a brighter note, I have got a beast regen joining in a couple of seasons (as long as I don't get sacked beforehand) who I just need to put on some intensive composure training before he becomes the shit.
NewburyFox Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Signed a central midfielder for £250k as we were so short in that area, and now as we're apparently so short on funds the wage bill has been sliced from £85k to £59k. We're roughly £16k over now, and I sense tough times ahead
morris1234 Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Well done but isn't that boring? When you have the regens coming through that I do, then no it isnt! HahaSome are just ridiculous, others however, are not the best stat wise, but their performances are crazy!
Fox92 Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Seemed to come out of my bad run... Climbed from 20th to 5th. Currently on an unbeaten run, which did include 4 clean sheets in a row until Blackpool scored 3 against me (thankfully I scored 5)... Had some impressive results against the likes of Swansea, QPR and local rivals Huddersfield (that was sweet). Started to look like a good team now. Just seem to pick up a lot of injuries, though.
BigAL88 Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 one thing that's really bugging me about this game is the injury's, well not so much having the injury's, but the way they come abouti mean say if my left winger gets put on the sidelines for 8 weeks, i can garrentee that within the space of a couple of games every one in the squad thatis capable of playing that position will be injured aswell or suspended. its really starting to **** me off as this happens quite often. and the best part is,it out of the transfer/loan window so nowt can be done about it.

So true! I've had so many conversations about this especially.
LCFC FOX Posted 14 June 2013 Posted 14 June 2013 Started off as Rotherham in league 2. Poor squad and bought in 6 loanees and 4 free transfers. Got promoted finishing 3rd. Now in the second season the loanees went back and my squad for the league 1 campaign was looking worse than the league 2 campaign. I had no money made available and hardly anything on wage. Managed to get about 10 frees who are all ages between 18-23. All released from top prem teams. Drew my first game 1-1 away at Oldham. This could be a long year. Any decent people to try and get on loan?

Too bloody true. Wasn't an issue in my first season, but now the broken ankle appears to be the new broken metatarsal.
NewburyFox Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 Finished my third season in charge in a respectable 6th. Looked like we may break into the top 3, but lost a couple of games towards the end and that was that. Now for the summer and a huge wage cut. As long as the stars don't leave, I won't mind.
morris1234 Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 Do we know if the new (latest patch) has sorted the transfer fees out? I've found that on all of my saves the money paid for (and wages while I mention it) players is ridiculously high! Average players, particularly championship level and they want 4mill+! It's stupid!!! It's even worse when you find a gem, their value is say 400k, you bid a reasonable 1.2 mill for the unheard of players and you get a report back saying they want 7million! Stupid!
Dan Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 Is it just my game, but why do so many crosses hit the bar?
LCFC FOX Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 Is it just my game, but why do so many crosses hit the bar? Mine as well, none never seem to drop in though
Fox92 Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 Mine as well. In fact, one game I lost 0-3, two of the goals were 'crosses' from about 25 yards.
NewburyFox Posted 15 June 2013 Posted 15 June 2013 Got a player called Louise Parfait, and every time I see his name I think of Shrek and Donkey. "You know what else everybody likes? Parfait!"
