Carl the Llama Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 What the actual ****. Here are the stats from my match against early relegation candidates Reading: Leicester-----------------------Reading 21----------------Shots-----------------7 9----------------On Target-------------3 56%-----------Posession-------------44% 15---------------Fouls------------------14 Lost 1-2, my goal being a Steven Fletcher penalty(so not even from open play) and I had 2 goals (fairly) ruled out for offside. In the second half I made a change on the 55 minute mark and wanted to see how that affected things before making other changes - it must have changed something because in the space of about 10 seconds, half an hour whizzed by without highlights leaving me in the 85th minute with no idea what needed tweaking.
Dan Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 Estigarribia is still great for me at 28 years old. He was my first signing on a free when I got promoted. He is injured for a while at the minute so I've signed Ashley Young on loan from United. I like pacey wide players who can cross a ball. I shouldn't really be in the top 4, definitely punching above my weight. Expected to finish about 10th. Will check out Neal Maupay. Never heard of him before. Class act. He's going from strength to strength for me. Now won 0-3 at West Ham, 4-0 v Swansea, 1-3 at Hull. Up to 7th, how is this happening?! How have I gone from despising this game to this?! Majority of my star players seem to be very much unsung heroes. Andy King 7.50 from 15 games, how?! Henriquez, brought in as back-up to Nugent/Wood on loan, 13 in 13, the leagues top scorer, Lomban, Tate, Wootton & Morgan ALL well over 7. Think I've found pretty much the ideal system. Looking up targets next year. Harry Maguire, Sam Byram, Neal Maupay etc...
Carl the Llama Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 These new signings I'm making in Jan better be worth it. I've just dominated Liverpool in possession, made more shots on target than they had shots, hit the post 3 times and somehow lost the match 2-0.
Ozwin Posted 16 April 2013 Posted 16 April 2013 I'm in the process of making a pretty basic website which'll have as many FM challenges as I can think of/find. It's a little side project really as I'm learning web design and that but it could come in useful for people who, like me, always struggle to find new game ideas/reasons to play. Need a catchy name though, any suggestions?
Dan Posted 17 April 2013 Posted 17 April 2013 "You're the boss" That's probably sensationally shit, to be fair.
Jonny Chee Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 What the actual fvck. Nice! Did they batter you in the stats?
Dan Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Nice! Did they batter you in the stats? They had more of them, but to be honest the highlights mainly showed us. We really turn up against every top side. It could've easily been the same at Chelsea.
KFS Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 Got Dover promoted to League 1, lost 6 on the bounce and resigned
Dan Posted 19 April 2013 Posted 19 April 2013 This is getting good, I've been handed a very generous £33mil budget. Already snapped up Harry Maguire & Leo Baptistao. Looking like I'll be lining up this season with; Schmeichel Lomban - Maguire - Wootton De Laet --------------------------- Briggs King - Romero Knockaert Watt - Leo Baptistao Subs; Tate, Estigarribia, Bianchi, James, Marshall, Petrucci, Wood Rest; Johnstone, Abdou, Elokobi, Moore, Schlupp Extremely youthful side but serious potential. Watt is all but signed, him and Leo will be an amazing strikeforce.
Carl the Llama Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Well fvck. Made some key signings to strengthen both my defence and my abilities going forward: Subsequently beat Chelsea 4-1 in the league and thought things were going surprisingly well. 2 games later I play them again in an FA cup match as one of the favourites to win the whole competition(?!) and the match is predicted to be a draw. Lose 4-0. 3 days later I have Man Utd in the league - get spanked 6-0. Oh and my defenders have decided to start a competition to get the most pointless red cards. AAAARGH. Edit: And now I've beaten Arsenal 4-2.
GLC Posted 20 April 2013 Author Posted 20 April 2013 I must be doing something wrong, I'm now in November and my GK (8 months) Main CB ( 3 months) and both starting strikers (3 months & 5 months) are out injured! I haven't win since September!
Carl the Llama Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Proof that this game's bullshit: The aforementioned 4-2 victory over Arsenal and a couple ensuing matches were lost to a corrupt file or some shit. Just replayed the Arsenal game with the exact same squad and lost 7-0.
Fox92 Posted 22 April 2013 Posted 22 April 2013 First season in the Premier League with Fulham after promotion, finished a nice 10th after being told I'd be in for a relegation battle... Managed some good results (beat Liverpool and City) but did get hammered 5-0 at Old Trafford and 5-1 at Goodison Park. Made the quater finals of the FA Cup and put in the worst performance ever against Championship side Burnley, they beat me 3-1 and Chester got sent off! That annoyed me because Reading ended up winning the FA Cup. Started my new season now. Drew with City 1-1 away from home, beat Wolves and then lost to Everton (again). Then lost to Sheffield United in the Cup - another defeat to a lower league team ffs. Started my second Premier League season, can't go any worse... Started the season away at City, drew 1-1 (good result). Beat Wolves 2-1, then lost by the same result at Everton... Then lost to Sheffield United in the league cup (they are league one) and haven't won since! Haven't won in 9 games now. It's ridiculous.
BstarFox Posted 24 April 2013 Posted 24 April 2013 I just can't win away from home I'm in febuary and won all but 2 of my home games but only won 2 away games, I've tried changing formation changing instructions everything this game is so frustrating
bmt Posted 24 April 2013 Posted 24 April 2013 I lost 9 1 to man city earlier, before the game I was top of the prem. Made me laugh, worst score I've ever seen!
Fox92 Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Started my second Premier League season, can't go any worse... Started the season away at City, drew 1-1 (good result). Beat Wolves 2-1, then lost by the same result at Everton... Then lost to Sheffield United in the league cup (they are league one) and haven't won since! Haven't won in 9 games now. It's ridiculous. No win in 10... Got sacked. Pricks. I got them promoted and then finished mid table. Thought I deserve better.
morris1234 Posted 25 April 2013 Posted 25 April 2013 Somebody help me understand this??? I played barca, as Man U, in 1st leg and drew 1-1 at home. Away leg, 1-1 at full time. ....ok easy enough to understand... I switch the highlights to key...so I see goals if there are any....still with me? So I go 'overload' and score through a barca own goal, then on 120 I score again , IM THROUGH 4-2 on agg Except when I finish the game, I lose 3-2 and apparently I imagined it all and messi scored 2 in extra time??? I have a screenshot and will try and upload but proving difficult!!
munf1987 Posted 30 April 2013 Posted 30 April 2013 Just about to start season 3 on my spurs game. Just seen Charlton have paid £5,250,000 for Matty James from Leicester. Both teams are still in the championship Does he actually become worthy of that price tag? I never make it pass the first season with Leicester
Bugg Posted 30 April 2013 Posted 30 April 2013 Just about to start season 3 on my spurs game. Just seen Charlton have paid £5,250,000 for Matty James from Leicester. Both teams are still in the championship Does he actually become worthy of that price tag? I never make it pass the first season with Leicester No, he becomes a bit better than he is at the start but certainly not worth that price tag. If it was FM2010 on the other hand that would be a bargain as he used to turn into one of the best midfielders in the game
Brainy Posted 1 May 2013 Posted 1 May 2013 Walkers. I'm curious by your Sparta legacy. Did you find that other teams kept up with you domestically or did you piss the league every year? And did your European successes over such a sheer volume of time pull up the league's reputation? They made this big hooha about dynamic competition reputations but I've never really, actually seen it work all that much. I mean in principal, if you won the Champs League enough as - for example - FC Kobenhavn then eventually would the Danish league not grow in reputation, hence be able to sign better players, would get more Champs League qualification places, hence top clubs would get more money and you could eventually turn the Danish league in to a power house? Technically? I wanted to experiment with Cercle Bruges in the last game but I got bored after the first season 'cos I kinda pissed it. Plus the Belgian league system is utter shambles. Sorry I only just came across this post Other teams started to catch up definitely. The league itself though is very topsy turvy cause Slovan Liberec were the Champions before I joined then a few seasons later they were relegated. Others play the game differently to me but when I joined I slowly got rid of the deadwood (Over the course of about two/three years, others just do it in the first transfer window and buy an entire new team). On the first day my board accepted a bid from Lille for Leonard Kweuke for about 4m. I spent what money I had on loans and young(ish) talent from cheap countries like Montenegro and Slovakia. Teams like Slavia Prague and Banik Ostrava had impressive youth academies so about 6/7 years into the game they were able to challenge me more than they did at first. First few seasons I was conceding about 15 goals per season, impressive since the league is 30 games long. I had an solid defence but as time went on even though my team got better and better I never seemed to pull away from the chasing pack and I was conceding about 30 goals a season. You make very easy profits in this country though, even as decent young players become superstars they still ask for no more than 20k a week. I had about 20m after 5 seasons and only then did I feel the need to spend any of it. I'm not sure where the Czech league ranked at first but now it lingers around 10th which without doubt is a significant rise. At first the Champions went into the CL qualifiers, 2nd place down to wherever went into the Europa League. After a few seasons we had the Champions go straight into the CL group stages, 2nd place in the CL qualifiers. Been the case for about 25 years now. If anybody wants to turn an average European club into CL winners then Sparta Prague isn't a bad shout. If people can turn Vauxhall Motors into Premier League winners then this should be piss easy I had (im sure) one of the best players on the game and at his peak he was only valued at 4m. When I left he left aswell to join PSG and was valued at about 24m. A few years later there were a number of players in the Czech league valued at over 10m so better players were playing here too. I'm nowhere near good enough to be able to turn the Czech league into a power house but i'm sure there are people out there who can. It will take time though, we worked our way up from being 4th seed in the CL to a top 2nd seed. In every way possible the club, league, country grew. I only failed to win the league about 3 times in 21 seasons and as easy as it is it's a very simple, boring league. 30 games with a 3 month winter break and only one domestic cup competition. The downside and disadvantage though is a lot of your games get moved to Fridays/Mondays for TV and the league never take into consideration the European games I play midweek. So many times I played a game on the Monday, a CL game on the Wednesday and another league game on the Friday. One thing I was never able to use to my advantage though was our B team which was in the 2nd division. Could never save it from relegation. First game I started on here was Anderlecht funnily enough so I know exactly what you mean about the league system. I only won the league because of how stupid it was (it gave Club Brugge the chance to bottle it ) Update on my game though, finally became a Champions League winner with Bayern beating Spurs in a penalty shoot out. Next season I majorly ****ed up in the CL group stages and was knocked out by Spartak Moscow and them bastards Slavia Prague. It gave me the opportunity to win the Europa League for the 2nd time though Won the Super Cup, 1st Division, European Super Cup, Club World Championship and the EL. Season after that I resigned after winning the league again. I noticed Slavia were now the top dogs in the Czech Republic and wanted to go back to Sparta . Took over in October and could do sod all in the league with an average, aging team. Came within one minute of making the CL Semi's until Bayern Bloody Munich scored to knock me out. Normal service resumed the season after by winning the league. It's now 2046, 33 years ago I wouldn't spend any more than 1m on a player. This season i've been daft enough to sign somebody for 33m . Got rid of the Premier League and added the Turkish League.
munf1987 Posted 1 May 2013 Posted 1 May 2013 Just started season 3 with spurs, beating cardiff 1-0 should have been a lot more but David Marshal had a brilliant game Sold Santon for £30m to PSG just couldn't reject an offer like that after paying 12m for him in the first season, this allows young Luke shaw to come in as the teams first choice LB. It might be asking abit too much of him at the moment but I have Vertonghen who can play there and i'll buy a LB in the Jan transfer window. Also sold Kagawa for £34m to Man City after paying £18m for him 6 months before that. I didn't want to sell him but he wanted a pay rise upto £98k which he is currently on £65k. I have other decent options also so accept the offer for a quick profit. Also sold Aaron Lennon to Liverpool for £24m in season 2. good bit of buisness as i got Sterling of them for £12m at start of the game I have brought Lucas Moura for a bargin £12m, Dejan Lovern £18m, Pogba £15m. Begovic £8m to be back up to Lloris. Still got £60m to spend Squad is currently Lloris / Begovic Walker / Josh stones Kaboul / Vertonghen / Caulker / Lovern Luke Shaw / ?? Sandro / Pogba Will Hughes / Dembele / Holtby / Sigurdsson Sterling / Wellington Nem Bale / V Fischer J Hernandez / Falcao / Lucas Moura / Victor Andrade Have about 15 players aged 14 - 17 who are 4 star to 5 star potential who i have signed following scout reports, which majority of these have been loaned out as well as V Andrade as i normally play 1 up front. Falcao was a bargin at £28m due to him being transfer listed. In my game i've had Ronaldo and Ozil on the transfer list but couldnt tempt them to sign for spurs. currently in talks for Neymar (£53m on transfer list) but don't know where he'd fit in or who to sell to make room for him. Has anyone signed Neymar before and how good does he actually get ? worth £53m? Any good Left back ? and where i could improve my team? I will be looking for another cb and to improve my centre mids but have no idea who to go for
Dan Posted 1 May 2013 Posted 1 May 2013 Came 9th with Leicester, to spend £25mil and drop a place is very poor, I'm seriously struggling on where to improve my side. Got handed another £33mil, unreal. Only spent about £16mil of it though and pretty much all of that was on Zouma.
