Guest Bilo Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 They didn't see a lot. For all their talk of Spanish possession and chances, they missed the fact chances stats were equal and Italy actually had more possession. The wankfest starts again thanks to a flattering lead.
BoneDog Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Two unlucky injuries for Italy tonight. One of them very early on.
davieG Posted 1 July 2012 Author Posted 1 July 2012 Looks like that's it then, can't see anymore goals in this game.
davieG Posted 1 July 2012 Author Posted 1 July 2012 The wankfest starts again thanks to a flattering lead. I quite like watching Spain but that halftime review was shockingly sycophantic.
Guest ttfn Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 It really is amazing that Sergio Ramos can bring himself to pass the ball to a player from Barcelona. What a guy.
davieG Posted 1 July 2012 Author Posted 1 July 2012 Hmm I don't think I'll bother with the BBC post match sick bag review.
Matt Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Well I don't feel so bad now I spose. Atleast I didn't lose out to 1 goal 5 minutes from time, I lost out by 2. Only lost a quid but to be so close to £55 is sickening.
Guest Bilo Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 This is the footballing equivalent of a gang rape. Italy have been unfortunate to be fair with injuries tonight but Spain have stepped it up a gear. They've actually been enjoyable to watch for the first time this tournament, worthy winners.
Tielemans63 Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Wow. Probably the best performance ive ever seen in a final. I remember Milan tonking Barca 4-0 in 94 but that topped it.
Finnegan Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Love that Torres wins the golden boot. Big F U to Del Bosque.
acooling08 Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Got to hand it to Spain. I really wanted Italy to win tonight because at times in the tournament the Spanish style of play was so dull and slow, passing it back all the time, and never getting the ball into the box. Tonight they were fantastic, they actually used their passing ability to create many chances and were clinical in front of goal. WOuld have been interesting to see Germany take them on though, I think they let themselves down v Italy.
Guest shearfox Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Love that Torres wins the golden boot. Big F U to Del Bosque. I don't think Del Bosque really cares, the World Cup and European Cup shows he must be picking the right players...
BlueSi13 Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Best team won the tournament. Really can't wait until Xavi and Iniesta retire though, i miss the days when international football was actually a competition. Also sad to see so many empty seats in the stadium tonight, Poland should have hosted the final as they have been far and away the greater hosts throughout this tournament.
Finnegan Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 I don't think Del Bosque really cares, the World Cup and European Cup shows he must be picking the right players... I appreciate it's a potentially ludicrous thing to say but I almost feel they've won this instead of him than because of him. For the brilliance in this side they've really laboured through some of the tournament playing hideously boring keep-ball with very little forward-thinking creativity. They always looked more lethal with Torres on the field.
foxfanazer Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Spain were faultless tonight. Torres looked sharp, could've had a hatful if he'd have started
Captain... Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 All the 'boring' comments pre game were just embarrassing and show how clueless some people are. A brilliant team, playing such beautiful simple football. If anyone wants England to compete on the international scene we need to adopt their approach, and as fans we need to embrace and not boo it as I have seen happen.

Spain were adventurous and attacking tonight, they looked like they really wanted to score every time. Completely different to how they've played the rest of the tournament where they've looked slow and unadventurous. You can't just come on after one game and in hindsight call everyone clueless. They have been boring apart from tonight, it's as simple as that. Nobody has said they're shit.

They played as such tonight....can you say the same about their previous five games? No. Its one thing to deeply respect Spain's ability to keep the ball and wish that we could one day do the same, but to sit there jacking off to some of Spain's absolutely dire spectacles this summer is another.

I'm not embarrassed by thinking that Spain were boring. To at least some extent, I thought they were boring in every match (even against Ireland) up to the final, stultefyingly so against Croatia and Portugal (for 90 mins). Doesn't mean I'm clueless, just means I've got a different opinion to you. More fool you for thinking that only your viewpoint is valid.
Matt Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Spain to win World Cup 2014 - 7/2 Spain to win Euro 2016 - 4/1 Double - 21.5/1 (Want more than that for the double to tempt me)

Wow, quite arrogant and pretentious. Yes, tonight they played very, very well, but tonight is the first time they've really turned it on. Throughout the rest of the Tournament they've shown little of the attacking intent, flair and commitment we saw tonight.
