Head Honcho Posted 28 June 2012 Posted 28 June 2012 Spain bore the pants of me so gonna be supporting Italy
Jaspa Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 If Spain put in a performance like they have for most of the Tournament, they really dont deserve to hold on to it Well done to Italy, and tonights Mario, came into this unfavoured and under a cloud of negativity, but have fought through and have got a real chance of winning this deservedly Would also be good for us to have gone out to the eventual Champions, and I really dislike the German side, so seeing them get served was a pleasure Not going to make a prediction, hard call
Captain... Posted 30 June 2012 Posted 30 June 2012 Spain bore the pants of me so gonna be supporting Italy Italy have played one good game this tournament, against Germany, against England we gave them so much time and space on the ball and they still couldn't beat us in 120 minutes, and made no real effort to do so, they kept 6 men behind the ball as much as we did, they were just better at it. If Spain put in a performance like they have for most of the Tournament, they really dont deserve to hold on to it After the group stages they had scored the most and conceded the least, currently only Germany have scored more, you may not like the way they play, but you can't say they don't deserve it. It'll be boring to watch. Then don't watch it, go down your local club and watch 22 men spend 90 minutes lumping it into the corner. Spain are technically and tactically the best side in Europe maybe even the world, people have tried many different tactics to stop them in the last few years, and all have failed. That is the only reason they have become "boring" to watch, because other teams now set themselves out to nullify them rather than play their own game.
Bert Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Looking forward to this. Been a pretty decent tournament overall and hoping we go out with a bang. Come on.... ITALY!
MC Prussian Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 For the sake of football in general, the best for everybody would be a hefty defeat for Spain. They need a wake-up call in order to reflect on their style of football which is effective, but completely unattractive. I'd love to be entertained at a European Championship and this tournament has had only sparse moments of awe. I'm with Italy in this one. Slight underdog, have already shown they can give the Rojas a good game - and they play in blue. Hopefully, this match will be decided after 90 minutes. I don't know if I could stand another penalty shootout.
HEGGSY Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Based purely on the fact I have an Italy shirt..... FORZA AZZURI!!!!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 ITALIA, ITALIA, FORZA ITALIA!!! This, come on Italy

I love the passing they do and find that great to watch, it's just when they get in advanced positions and turn around pass it back and start all over again that I found annoying. If they added a bit more penetration around the box they would be an absolute joy to watch. Torres has to start for me, 2-2 draw and Spain nick it in ET
Guest Bilo Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 I'd be lying if I said I was looking forward to this one, though it'll be interesting to see how Spain's defence will cope with Balotelli if he fancies it. The bloke was an absolute monster against Germany. I'd prefer the Italians to win it as they've been more entertaining but can't see past Spain, barring an absolute wonder display from Pirlo and Balotelli.
21st Century Fox Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Absolutely gutted I couldn't get back home to watch this with my mum's Italian side of the family, there's going to be an absolute piss up whatever the result tonight. Head says Spain, heart says Italy. If Italy can score first, I think they might just have enough to nick it, Spain look pretty tired and don't think they've got enough in the tank to chase a game.
Webbo Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Want Italy to win it but I probably won't watch it myself.
whoareyaaa Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Italy for me... if they play like they did against Germany and bad boy Balotelli is up to par then they shouldn't face too many problems, of course Pirlo will run the show once again.
Matt Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Hmmm now will Spain play with a striker. Thinking of Torres first goalscorer, Spain to win 2-0 @ 40/1. Also, Ballotelli first goalscorer, match to finish 1-1 @ 40/1.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 I'll be watching it on BBC and going 2-1 Italy! Balotelli and De Rossi with the goals
Jaspa Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 2-1 Balzaretti, Fabregas and Pirlo. In that order Cba with pens again
davieG Posted 1 July 2012 Author Posted 1 July 2012 As normal I don't care who wins as long as it's a good game, 3-2 to someone would suit me.
Matt Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 I'll be watching it on BBC and going 2-1 Italy! Balotelli and De Rossi with the goals BBC > ITV. Will be interesting to see the viewing figures of BBC v ITV aswell, I think BBC would win. ITV's sport coverage in general is shite.
