Guest MattP Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 I don't understand this either. This will be the biggest barometer of our season to come, tickets are cheap and it's Premier League opposition. Surely it's a must? It's a friendly, they are generally boring as shit, I honestly wouldn't go if it was free entry.
1964FOX Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 Clearly some people are not fussed with home friendlies but I expect us to have around 7,000 attend.

Si I can only assume you are not interested how we look on the eve of the season? Dont worry, Stringer and chums will give you a thoroughly distorted view of it all on the radio!

To be honest I can't ever remember how we performed in a pre-season friendly actually baring any resemblence to have we performed in the season, I went to the Barca game which was pretty good but I can't get interested in a game that means nothing.
jonthefox Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 They spoilt us last year with Madrid. I'm not excited at all about this, so i'm saving my money.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 I bought two tickets for the Sunderland friendly after the open training session. I just ordered two more tickets and they said that only two stands were open for it. Why the lack of interest? pre-season friendly, they are pretty much always shite
Bluetintedspecs Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 Looking forward to it and feel we will have a good indication of the preferred starting 11 for Posh. COYB
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 I don't think it will be much an indication of what's to come but I'm going to this one. I'm gonna sit with Bert at the back of L1, with my t shirt off

Corky Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 I'll be going, as I was denied the chance to attend today. Not that exciting but it's still football.

I thought that was how it usually panned out, tinker and experiment in build up friendlies then have proper look in final friendly against premiership opposition.
samstown92 Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 two stands is quite a lot for a pre-season friendly against Sunderland, however I should be going, my Saturdays are awful without football!

Sorry mate you misunderstood, or I didn't make myself clear. I meant how we perform and what the final score is wont be any indication of what's to come. And with the injuries, SSL and Whitbread (is he fit) it may not be the same starting 11 as for much of the rest of the season. Put it this way, if we win or lose against the Black cats I won't put much stock into how we then do in the league.

Filbert_Ross Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 think im unblocking drains when this game is on.

goose2010 Posted 4 August 2012 Posted 4 August 2012 I will be there, like people have said its football, should be an alright game and this pre season has been too long!
Deucalion Posted 4 August 2012 Author Posted 4 August 2012 Drag him to Posh instead. I'm off on my hols on the 17th August (yes I know) so he's having my season ticket for Peterboro. I would just've liked to see his reactions, that's all.
