Because no one sings in a football ground, no one sings when there sat down on there seats. It takes 'groups' who want to stand all the game, hardcore fans such as L1 hence everyone stands!

What makes them 'hardcore' because they stand? lol Half of them won't be hardcore.

I agree that our ground's atmosphere (like most) is poor, but even those stood in L1 go through parts of the game not singing.

The more people that sing the less each individual/group has to sing continuously.

I understand that. Which is why, at away games, we don't have/need this talk of individual/groups.

Well of course not because they're a group in their own right and filled with a higher % of those that want to stand and sing, Those same people are attending home games but many are forced to sit and they are spread around the ground and then become separate groups.

Well they're letting them take banners and flags (not that i'm a big fan of them) in and not trying to stop them before they start, the club that is, unless it's all an LCFC type smokescreen and they eject them and ban them after the first game.

Ah ok. Don't understand why Villa are taking the piss then? (Other than they are drawing attention to the fact their atmosphere is generally poor).

Flags and banners don't necessarily help the vocal atmosphere but I always thought a crowd with a load of them in looks brilliant (much better than flares) as it used to be for all big games in the old days.

They need something, the atmosphere at their ground is terrible, unfortunately you pretty much have to get approval from the club to so anything thesedays, but if thats what it takes so be it....I'm for any type of fan organisation, no doubt rival fans will rip the piss whilst still maoning about the lack of atmosphere at their club.

I actually think it's a good idea. I like all old songs and stuff but a bit of cringeworthy manufactured modern atmosphere can be good for the periods of silence. I'd prefer the 'good old days' as much as the next guy but if an atmosphere needs helping it's as good an idea as any.

Villa might be taking the piss because they don't like Brum and they have a group that has developed and forced the club to recognise them and allow them flags and banners

Spot on, waited for the Fosse Boys to trip themselves up but mistakes were made that allowed this to happen.

You do get the feeling that Birmingham won't be quite so enthusiastic once they realise that singing = standing.

Well done on them for trying and convincing the club to back them, shame the fosse boys didnt have that support. good luck to them.

You could have put unreserved seating in the dugout and it would have been too big for the Fosse Boys.

For the big matches a fair bit of St Andrews stands up.

Was very noticeable at the European games last season.

Aye, but they were the biggest games in the club's history.

A small group on an ordinary Saturday match with Blackpool will be dealt with by the stewards.

History tells us that you have to prepared for a long fight if you want to stand in English grounds, that or have very large numbers.

Choreographed Celebrations?! WTF? I'm so sick of clubs trying to create a "match day experience" or improve the atmosphere somehow. I go to watch football and that's all I care about.

Well said. Hate the fake side of the game.

Somehow I doubt that

There's not many going so I'm hoping for something similar to Southampton last year which was good to be fair.

They seem to be pretyy lenient about standing there so hopefully they wont have any problems, I'll guess we'll see.

I've never understood the whole 'fake' arguement either....if someone could explain it...

This can only be a good thing.... If Birmingham don't go back on the word when they release that unreserved seating is synonymous with standing. (Hopefully they were aware of that, but you never know how the guy spun it with the club in the first place.)

As for these choreographed 'celebrations' being fake - I'd say you were a clown if you thought Birmingham fans would do anything other than go potty following a goal. I doubt they'd even follow it up with a grecque. I'm almost certain it's referring to the displays that they would put on pre-match.

Surely no-one can argue that adding a bit of colour to pre-match can be a bad thing - fairly sure everyone spaffed over Celtic's four horsemen of the apocalypse last year. If anyone does disagree I'd love to know why.

'The Forza Blues group will be governed by a specific code of conduct on a matchday'

That's the only thing that makes me a tad sceptical about this, so we'll have to see how it pans out. Surely the people at the club know that encouraging a 'singing section' (and to all intents and purposes, that's what this is) is likely to lead to an increase in standing. If the club are willing for them to do this (and thus be open to the accusation from the Football League that they have encouraged fans to break ground regulations), then it might have some success. If not, it will turn into another Fosse Boys scenario.
