Zingari Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 blimey mike , have you not got anything better to do ?
foxfanazer Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Not sure mate but it's good to see. Perfect mixture of youth and experience
pSinatra Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 I think it's an interesting point that you make & it's not something I have seen being discussed before. Similar to Jock's approach, but different in respect of the fact that NP does not heavily rely on anyone Scottish........which can only be considered a good thing!! I like it that the team is young & that a fair few of them are looking to prove themselves at this level........& at a higher level if things go to plan.
fleckneymike Posted 19 August 2012 Author Posted 19 August 2012 I never quite recovered from the oldest ever side which Mickey Adams fielded against QPR Pressman 36 Keown 38 Makin 31 Dabizas 31 Gemmil 33 Wilcox 33 Nalis 33 Connolly 27 Blake 32 Scowcroft 29 Dublin 35 Average age 32.5! That shot up when Connolly was red carded. Thankfully we were able to bring on Benjamin and Wright to add some class to proceedings.

fleckneymike Posted 19 August 2012 Author Posted 19 August 2012 thats just wrong! Adams even had the nerve pre season to demand no one talk about second place. He managed to assemble to oldest, slowest squad I've ever seen. The only positive was when Jason McAteer changed his mind and joined Tranmere instead.
Jordan Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Lo and behold, foxblogger answers some of your question: http://foxblogger.wordpress.com/2012/08/19/leicester-city-2-0-peterborough-united-key-numbers/

Saxondale Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Funny you mention this - I've been suffering from the 'late twenties blues' and had a dawning realisation recently that, at some point soon, the City are going to field a first team side that are all younger than me (if it hasn't happened already). Walking back from the game I was trying to recall the ages of the players and, to my relief, remembered that Konchesky is older than me.

Ridiculous, some of the signings Adams made in his last few months.

5waller5 Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 I may be entirely wrong here .... but didn't Craig Levein go through a stage of signing really young players?? My memory is fading of those less memorable times!!!
fleckneymike Posted 19 August 2012 Author Posted 19 August 2012 Ridiculous, some of the signings Adams made in his last few months. Billy McKinlay and Ferdinand aside, did Adams make any decent signings?
5waller5 Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Did Adams sign Les Ferdinand?? Still, for me, the best player to pull on a Leicester shirt. I loved him!!!
Corky Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Billy McKinlay and Ferdinand aside, did Adams make any decent signings? Don't think so. The strikers in our promotion season were Dickov and Deane, both Bassett signings. Izzet obviously came long before, whilst the defence in the main was inherited.
lcfcsnow Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Billy McKinlay and Ferdinand aside, did Adams make any decent signings? Marcus Bent on loan was as good as it got.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Big Dunc the thug, trying to kill little Stef
Lambert09 Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Joey gudjohnson and connolly were decent signings. And at a combined total of 250 k

At first glance, I thought that might have actually been their ratings on Fifa.
