Kitchandro Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 Why are they still deluding themselves that 9,000 are turning up? There was only about 6,000 at the Stevenage game, the figures may well say 9,000 but there's obviously quite a few season ticket holders that have given up already!
Matt Posted 25 September 2012 Author Posted 25 September 2012 They are taking 8k to Arsenal tomorrow. Put this words in order of a well known phrase - bandwagon, jumping, on, the. Seven years after they moved in, Cov have still to fill the Ricoh, and don't look like doing so any time soon. They have, well I can't guarantee it was complete sell out but it was quite full against Chelsea in a cup a couple of years ago, again see my reply to the 1st quote.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 If you enjoy rock gigs that is. Seven years after they moved in, Cov have still to fill the Ricoh, and don't look like doing so any time soon. They filled it for the FA Cup quarter-final game against Chelsea a few years ago, but that's the only time I'm aware of. One sell-out in seven years is pretty abysmal to be honest.
BlueSi13 Posted 25 September 2012 Posted 25 September 2012 We should distribute some leaflets in Coventry advertising our next home game, getting some converts would really rub it in Its not as if they didn't look at us every year and wish they were us anyway.

They might have beaten you to it but in the opposite direction. I saw a Coventry City bus in the city centre yesterday, the Ricoh Express or something crap like that!

Matt Posted 28 September 2012 Author Posted 28 September 2012 If you exclude our Premiership season what's our record in the past 9 years? If you are talking sell outs, not very good. If we are talking attendances in general in comparison to Coventry's (most championship clubs and some premiership clubs) our is very good.
ozleicester Posted 28 September 2012 Posted 28 September 2012 If you exclude our Premiership season what's our record in the past 9 years? Real Madrid
Corky Posted 28 September 2012 Posted 28 September 2012 If you exclude our Premiership season what's our record in the past 9 years? We've had one 32,000 crowd (Wolves in 2002), and several 31,000 crowds when segregation was bigger/ away fans didn't sell out.
Kitchandro Posted 28 September 2012 Posted 28 September 2012 Yeh defining 'sellout' these days is pretty difficult. The point is Coventry have only got close to a sellout that one time I suspect, it's not lie they've been getting within a couple of thousand of the capacity once or twice a season.
Matt Posted 29 September 2012 Author Posted 29 September 2012 They won...well, that's abit of a disappointment.
Guest Bilo Posted 29 September 2012 Posted 29 September 2012 If you exclude our Premiership season what's our record in the past 9 years? I think we sold out at least once every season between 07-08 and 10-11, last season was the first time in ages we didn't sell out at all. 07-08 Sheffield Wednesday 08-09 Scunthorpe United 09-10 Notts Forest 10-11 Manchester City That's not to mention a few 30,000 plus attendances that just fell short of selling out, Leeds on Boxing Day in the 10-11 season and Hull in 07-08 spring to mind there. Our average attendances have obviously been far superior to Coventry's for quite some time as well.
jonthefox Posted 29 September 2012 Posted 29 September 2012 They won...well, that's abit of a disappointment. Won't last.
Leicesterpool Posted 29 September 2012 Posted 29 September 2012 Okay they beat Oldham, but Oldham aren't that good at the moment so there's no need to panic
Corky Posted 29 September 2012 Posted 29 September 2012 They won...well, that's abit of a disappointment. Moved them up one place.
