kingfox Posted 2 October 2012 Posted 2 October 2012 Can people post some player ratings if you went tonight please. Purely to see if Knockaert deserves 10's and if St Ledger did another outstanding job
davbison Posted 2 October 2012 Posted 2 October 2012 Kasper - 6 -didn't have A save to make, but his kicking wasn't great. Konch - 8 - solid, good assist for 2nd goal Morgan - 9 - won everything SSL - 7 - another good performance Moore - 7 - much better than boro on sat Dyer - 6 - made a few bad decisions, not his best game Drinkwater - 9 - ran the show from midfield, superb King - 7 - put a good shift in Knocks - 9 - two of the best goals I've seen in a long time. Could have been sent off for a dodgy tackle before his second though Vardy - 7 - missed a sitter but tracked back and made some good tackles Nugent - 7 - not his best performance but still played his part Schlupp 7 Waggy n/a Marshall n/a
FoxinLeeds Posted 2 October 2012 Posted 2 October 2012 Schemeichel - 6 didn't seem to do much all game - to be fair largely down to sean, wes and the rest in front of him! Moore 8 - Looked steady for most part and gave away nothing on his side of the pitch Morgan - 8.5 Immense throughout especially in first half and large reason why schemeichel had so little to do St Ledger - 7 looked comfortable against an admittedly woeful home attack and complimented big Wes well Koncheskey - 8 defended well and got forward to good effect Dyer - 7 good pace troubled huddersfield and created panic in home defence. Final ball again though was poor Drinkwater - 8 bossed the game with King both winning and keeping possesion King - 8 - see Drinkwater. Has improved the tackling and passing side of his game this season. Should have scored in 1st half though Knocky - 9 Great goals and some wonderful touches, the class that we have needed for some time. The only small criticism was that some of his short passing was a little off at times - a very small criticism though as the dribbling and finishing were fantastic Nugent - 7 missed a couple of good chances needs to be a bit more consistent with his finishing. All round game was good Vardy - 7 sliced shot horribly 2nd half. Good runner though and battles for everything, what he lacks in finesse he does his best to make up for in effort Subs - n/a to all 3 as game was won by time they came on.
Libertine Dream Posted 2 October 2012 Posted 2 October 2012 They were all superb, worked hard, showed some class and didnt really have to go full pelt today. Knockaert is out of this world, and it was good to see Schlupp come on and do well
Guest foxestalkisfullofidiots Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 Kasper - 6 Had nothing to do, easiest clean sheet bonus he will ever earn. Moore - 7 Did really well, looks better at right back. Morgan - 8 Solid. St Ledger - 8 Never put a foot wrong. Konch - 7 Looked like he had some pace tonight. Dyer - 7 Played well, gets unfair flak. King - 6 Did nothing again, weak link of the team. Drinkwater - 8 Never gave the ball away. Knockaert - 9 Best Brace I've ever seen live. Vardy - 7 Put a good shift in. Nugent - 7 Should of scored.
eddylcfc Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 Kasper - 7 nothing to do. Long kicks caused trouble. Moore - 6 did okay. Bit nervous on the ball but solid defensively. Cb looks his best position. Morgan - 8 solid Ssl - 8 see above Konchesky - 7 got in some good attacking positions and was an outlet all night. Needs to work on his final delivery ( as does Moore ) Knockaert - 10 outstanding!! Not only does he have serious quality on the ball but he also helps out the full back defensively. His desire to win is fantastic to see. Always wanting the ball and gives 100%. So so so much quality! Drinkwater - 8 bossed midfield. Tidy in possession, got a foot in when needed. Underrated! King - 7 tidy again. Retains possession well. Key player this season. Dyer - 5 worst player for us today. No cutting edge, no vision. Best utilised as a sub to use his pace to hurt teams when there tired. However lloyd works hard for the team and is a vital member of the squad. Nuge - 7 worked hard but missed a sitter. Still love him mind. Vardy - 6 touch abit off today, looks sharp and works his bollocks off. Probably should have scored but I'll let him off.
GingerrrFox Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 How anyone can give Knockaert anything less than a 10 is beyond me! He's spacial awareness is ridiculous, he's got unbelievable skill, an eye for goal but on top of all that he knows how to graft! Sprinted from the left side of the pitch backwards to the right touch line about 60 metres to make a tackle.....THE LAD IS UNBELIEVABLE! The rest of the team all 7s and 8s!

Drinkwater - 8 Never gave the ball away. Knockaert - 9 Best Brace I've ever seen live. Vardy - 7 Put a good shift in. Nugent - 7 Should of scored. King worked hard and often won the ball back. Him and DD gave them no time and passed the ball well, better partnership than James DD

Richard Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 And the fact Stringer said recently it was the best he'd seem King ever play
Simo86 Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 And the fact Stringer said recently it was the best he'd seem King ever play We all know that Stringer has a crush on King so best take his comments with a pinch of salt about him

For me, Dennis Rofe at Swansea in early 80's in a 2-0 win. He never scored yet fired in a 35 yard thunderbolt right into the top corner in front of our large following that day to send everyone wild. Then, ten minutes later, followed it up with an almost identical one from a couple of yards further out. A "never forget" moment.
Captain... Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 We all know that Stringer has a crush on King so best take his comments with a pinch of salt about him Listening to the radio I lost track of the number of times they said king or drinkwater won the ball back, it sounds like we dominated in the middle all game, without any flashy showy tackles, just the usual king style mopping up everything loose and setting us going again. Was surprised to see him given a 6
marbelladave Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 Not at the game so no ratings. Just a general observation. The 'sitting' midfield role is and always has been King's natural position. He showed that in the playoff season but was fooked about for a season and a half by Sousa and then Svennis, with the injury, that was two whole seasons wasted. He is a commanding figure in central midfield but because he doesn't posture and point and all the rest some people still think he does nothing..... Listened to the Huddersfield commentary for much of last night, much of the time they actually described the play, and the number of times King was mentioned winning headers and mopping up was interesting. It was much closer to what you see when you watch him play, yet Stringer and the Jock rarely mention him, not one of their favourites obviously....
davieG Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 Pearson OS But while happy with the contribution of his outrageous young talent from across the Channel, Pearson couldn’t speak highly enough of arguably his side’s best all-round performance of the season. “Anthony will get the headlines, but there were outstanding performances throughout the team,†he told the media post-match. “We played the conditions very well. It was awful out there, especially in the first half, but you wouldn’t recognise that given how well we coped with the ball. “The players controlled the game very well and made a lot of good decisions, because when you play in these conditions it’s a potential nightmare for defenders. “I thought ours did exceptionally well and the midfield controlled the game utterly. It was a good all-round performance.†Despite some outstanding performances throughout the side, with Danny Drinkwater and Wes Morgan particularly impressive, Knockaert’s individual contribution was impossible to ignore.
Corky Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 It was much closer to what you see when you watch him play, yet Stringer and the Jock rarely mention him, not one of their favourites obviously.... In fairness, Young was falling over others to praise Knockaert, so it was tough for King to be noticed

shen Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 I didn't see the game, but those knocking () Dyer did they not take into account his substantial role in the second goal? Fine run and impeccable timing and weighting of that pass to Konch.
Manchesterred Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 As a neutral footballing fan at last nights game my views are as follows: Knockeart: scored 2 goals arguably the keeper should have done better with but a great strike.. 2nd was a clever back kick. Throughout the match he did work hard but also made some bad decisions. Should have been sent off for a reckless lunge near the corner flag that didn't need making. Kasper: had nothing to do other than save 1 trickling header in the 77th minute. His decision makin on kicks were pathetic. I counted 8 kicks in a row that went the full length of the pitch and out of play. Back 4: strong, mobile and willing to put a tackle in. Konch in particular was fantastic. Strong with a very good engine. Drinky: controlled the game few loose balls here and there but overall very good. King: was quiet. Good in the air. He looked tired quite quickly. Although I belive he has been out through injury. Vardy: a good striker willing to challenge And work hard he had a very good work rate and played well. All in all. A good performance from city against a poor poor Huddersfield. Although I think when the big games come against your cardiffs and teams like that, Leicester are going to need a few more options than just to hit the corner flags. And I was shocked at the size of the Leicester team not many less than 6 foot.

You should check out the thread about his many faces Are you saying we've got a big side? I can't see it to be honest
Manchesterred Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 King always looks knackered even when he isn't. You should check out the thread about his many faces Are you saying we've got a big side? I can't see it to be honest It seemed that way lasts night unless Huddersfield have a really small team. It seemed last nights game was men vs boys taller and alot more physical. Ill have to check out that thread. Come the end of the season with the quality in the city squad and dependant on minimal injuries. I can see them finishing in the top 3 but there is a long way to go.
TrentFox Posted 3 October 2012 Posted 3 October 2012 It's funny, but someone on the Huddersfield site said we were a big team !! Can't see it myself - I think we are slightly malnourished as Championship teams go. Or maybe, (Morgs apart), we're just weak in the air ??
