Captain... Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 i know what I'm getting you this year............fvck all! I'm going away with friends to North Norfolk, hiring a cottage 13 of us although kids outnumber us somewhat,do it every other year. Not even thought about shopping and won't for a least 6 weeks. The problem I have is its the wife's birthday too. Double trouble, but she does write me a very long and expensive list. Cottaging with the kids!!!
Captain... Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 Too far? Necropaedophilia? Can't see how that would be going too far.
Guest Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 What a bunch of miserable bastards we've got here. Best time of the year, the booze, the family and friends, the parties, the happiness, the music. Can't wait, still like a kid when it comes to Christmas. I think the point is that it's October 12th. Let's talk about Christmas in late December. It's like talking about playing prem football next season during a loss to Burton Albion.
kingfox Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 I don't want to unduly worry you or spoil your plans for Christmas, but is it possible that such a move could make for a slightly awkward moment at the dining table for your guests whilst you do that ? Won't be having guests, and certainly won't be wanking under the table.

BoneDog Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 Hoping to get my car on the road for Crimbo so we can visit more people instead of having to stay over at one house for a couple of days like usual. It'd be nice to be able to deliver presents normally instead of having to get on flippin trains, taxis and buses bogged down with bags. Love Crimbo but not sure if this year can top last year present wise. I got a Black n Decker dustbuster and an AOC monitor. Will be hard to beat that.
Guest MattP Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 In fact I'm gonna whack my Johnny Mathis LP on, looking at him now with all the Savile stuff, he must have been at it as well.
vandamman Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 It's not Christmas for me until i've heard Chris Rea on the radio and i'm actually driving home for Christmas.

ousefox Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 Honestly don't really celebrate xmas anymore, now that we're all older in our family it's just like any other day apart from being let down by the shit on tele even more than usual.
z-layrex Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 I've got the tree up! Just so excited I couldn't wait.

Xen Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 Only 73 days to go. What is everyone's plans? Going away, staying at home, family coming over to stay, started your shopping yet, what have you asked for? 31 days til 12/11, 30 days from that until 12/12 then another 13 for Christmas = 74 days
Captain... Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 We've got bonfire night, Halloween and Diwali first lets focus on one celebration at a time. It is certainly not time to talk about Christmas until the Diwali lights change
Simmo86 Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 Spending Xmas day at my Grandads, Hull on Boxing Day then New York on the 27th for 6 days.
Rincewind Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 Doubt I'll be doing much. Can't even go up to see my family in Cumbria at the moment. Senior Rail Card will need renewal an train fair will still be too much. No presents for anyone which makes me feel bad as I will surely get some. Some Xmas work would help though. So cautiously optimistic.

ousefox Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 WOW what a dull family you must be. yeah incredibly dull. We have a dinner if we're not abroad, but we're not religious and don't buy any expensive presents or anything. Even though most a lot of people who aren't interested in religion part still like the tradition it doesn't really do it for me. Would rather use the money to go on holiday or sometihng.
ousefox Posted 12 October 2012 Posted 12 October 2012 I find that very sad. You don't have to just have one day where you spend the day as a family together eating turkey when you'd rather have chicken!
