Part Of The Crowd Posted 6 November 2012 Posted 6 November 2012 AFC Wimbledon deny our club's right to exist. For them they see playing us as a validation of our existence and will only do it as part of their agreement of fulfilling their fixtures. While I'm sure a few smiles will most certainly be shared if they beat us, it'd go against their core values. If their fans are true to their word they won't attend as they'll be giving us money for the event. For us there's essentially everything being brought up in front of everyone again, renewing all the hatred our fans our viewed with (Including outside football). It'll most likely be hugely poor PR for clubs, as well as the likelihood of any potential trouble. This is the kind of game you'll get all the knobheads looking for a fight (With no relation to either club) turning up to. Anyone who travels over from Ukraine to visit games (And has attended an AFC Wimbledon game, he supported Wimbledon from many years before the split, so gave them their chance) is a small bit of a legend in my mind. For a club like Leicester who have a much larger and more established fanbase it may not be a big thing, but for us it is whether you hate us or are indifferent to us. Anyone who thinks a game like this would be anything other than a media circus where football is the least important thing, with a huge chance for massive repercussions for both teams, is deluded. I'm sure everyone outside of the fixture would be all for this, it's an absolutely huge game. However, for the two clubs involved it's a worst case scenario. Edit - Sorry for the late reply and formal nature of it, been at work all day. If there's any particular part you want me to go over in more detail let me know, I'm more than happy to.
Father Ted Posted 6 November 2012 Posted 6 November 2012 Not sure. They might aswell get it over with 'cos it's going to happen sooner or later. I'd be gagging for it if I was a Wimbledon fan. Same.. I'd love it to happen, go to Stadium:MK and tear it up
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 Come on Wimbledon! Nice strike
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 And a sending off for York!
Leicesterpool Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 If anyone's interesting since the foxes aren't playing then Boro have got Luton in the fa cup first round replay at Liberty Way.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 WE'RE COMING FOR YOU WE'RE COMING FOR YOOOOUUUUU YOU FRANCHISE BASTARDS WE'RE COMING FOR YOU!
Tom17LCFC Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 Hopefully, if AFC and MK both get through, the match will go to a replay. Can't see many AFC fans going to Stadium:MK, giving money to them and the chariman. The reverse would be something else though!

Tom17LCFC Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 FA Cup gates are split evenly, so it makes no odds really. Didn't realise that. I wonder if that means they won't be deterred from going to Stadium:MK or whether it might stop them attending the home game if it goes to a replay... Hopefully the former. EDIT: Still might not even happen, 2-2.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 Cracking game this. Not much quality on show, but all blood and thunder. Typical FA Cup 1st Round fare.

Guest Bilo Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 Extra time. Franchise v Wimbledon is still very much on.
Tom17LCFC Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 Why do I always do this to myself? The curse of the delayed stream strikes again. sorry mate!
Carl the Llama Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 sorry mate! It's my own stupid fault - I should be smart enough to know better by now! Anybody else think the song in that HSBC ad is a tad rapey? ("Thanks heavens for little girls, for little girls get bigger every day")
Guest Bilo Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 3-2 Wimbledon. Scrappy goal but they all count.
Carl the Llama Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 Oh fvck you guys I just came to talk about the 3rd. Still watching replays!
Carl the Llama Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 It's 4-2 where I am now too. Any other goals I should know about?
Corky Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 Some of the songs the Wimbledon fans were singing suggested they would be up for a meeting with Milton Keynes.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 Looking at forums and Twitter, there is a bit of a divide. Some fans want to go because they don't want MK to stop them from supporting their club on the road for a second time, while others are calling for a total boycott and empty away end. It'll certainly be interesting to see which way it goes. What I don't understand is MK's hatred of Wimbledon, which seems almost as visceral as the reverse.
Voll Blau Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 No doubt MK ****** fans will be creaming themselves over the prospect of finally meeting their "rivals" and will no doubt find some way of trying to claim they're "the real Wimbledon". Cretins. Would love Cambridge City to go through.

Probably a half-full away end.
