Ross-Kemp Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 Man city won the league thanks to the money. So did Blackburn, Chelsea and united !
nothin2seehere Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 Did I hear correctly that Wigan only had a 21,000 ticket allocation? Why such a small amount if true? Doesn't bode well for whichever teams to Wembley for po final..

Guest Bilo Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 I think both teams in the play-off final get near-as-makes-no-difference 40,000 tickets.
Happy Fox Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 40,000 is about right that is what Northampton have been given for the East Stand.

Wymsey Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 I wouldn't mind us signing Wigan's goalkeeper, as back-up to Kasper; was impressed with his saving abilities and passes/throws that went straight to Wigan players (i.e. not wasted).
Webbo Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 How do they decide which team wears which kit? Toss a coin (I think)

Yes, he was good - but doubt he'd come to us to be back-up Tough call between him and Schmeichel
Super_horns Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 Inspiration for every club that wouldn't consider Europa League football to be a disappointment. and with Swansea winning the league cup proof that if middle/lower ranked sides (in the table) put their minds to it and give these cups a go then glory can come. Ok Wigan might be relegated but they probably would been at some point but their fans can say they've won the FA cup! I'd take that. Man City meanwhille maybe need to look at their squad rather than just the manager.
leicesterisme Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 West Ham got 40,000, last year. Dunno about Blackpool. Think they got around the same, think it was about a thousand less.
Kitchandro Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 Very arrogant. We don't deserve it any more than they do. It's not about being arrogant or us deserving it more. It's that we're a big club with a lot of fans, history and a very respectable and consistent league record (apart from the last decade). Wigan, with respect, are about 50 years younger than us, don't have many fans and have spent most of their history in the bottom divisions and non-league. It is a bit annoying that they have managed to win it and we haven't. It's underachievement. Anyway, I've no real bitterness towards Wigan, they thoroughly deserved it today.

Fair enough, you make a good point. The way he worded it came across as very bitter though: "Personally I was hoping for a Man City win. The fact that we've never won it but a club like Wigan have doesn't reflect very well on us imo." I don't personally think it has any real meaning in terms of achievement. I mean, obviously it's a fantastic achievement but in the Premiership it takes a small hot streak to win it. It's still tough, yeah, and I'm disappointed we have never won it but I think our (previous) record of never having being outside the top 2 divisions counts for more in terms of history and achievement.
Carl the Llama Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 Didn't bother watching this. Who wants to see a dull, one-sided playing out of the inevitable?

Yeh I as proud of that too Yeh I know what you mean about him sounding bitter, but I get what he means. Like I say, nothing against Wigan or smaller clubs winning it, it was a deserved win.

No it's about watching wigan win it and fair play. But us fielding an weakend side at uddersfield. Thats just shit.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 11 May 2013 Posted 11 May 2013 Man city won the league thanks to the money. And whelan has bankrolled wigan int the premiership. To be fair, I think Wigan are one of the only self sufficient clubs in the Premier League along with Arsenal. So they were probably bankrolled into the PL but it's stood them in good stead for now, considering most clubs make a loss.

It wasn't meant as a dig at Wigan and I don't know how "doesn't reflect very well on us imo" could be construed as that.
