Mack Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Has anyone been down to Comet yet to see if this liquidation sale has anything worth buying? Could be some serious bargains.
Darkon84 Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Has anyone been down to Comet yet to see if this liquidation sale has anything worth buying? Could be some serious bargains. Didnt even realise or think of it to be honest. Think I might make the trip to Fosse Park after work and have a look now
hairy Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 I think they are still deciding what to do with it, seeing if another buyer will come along. If they dont then you will have your sale.
Mack Posted 8 November 2012 Author Posted 8 November 2012 The sale started this morning at 9am. i was wondering if anyone has been for a gander.
davieG Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Didnt even realise or think of it to be honest. Think I might make the trip to Fosse Park after work and have a look now I thought their Fosse Park shop closed a while ago and they only have one at St Georges and Loughboro? Edit seems like they have on on the Meridian estate from their website.

Edit seems like they have on on the Meridian estate from their website. I was thinking of Currys anyway. May still be worth the trip to St Georges. This could be a blessing in disguise, seeing as my laptop got seriously soaked in beer at the weekend and now the screen wont work
indierich06 Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Apparently, they're offering between 10% and 20% on most stuff, so there aren't going to be any silly deals on. Although apparently, discounts could rise as high as 90% for the final clearance, although most of the decent stuff will have gone at that point.
Mack Posted 8 November 2012 Author Posted 8 November 2012 Sounds like it's not worth the waste of petrol then.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Anyone want to buy some Comet voucher, cheap?
purpleronnie Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 I stand corrected, apologies. said the man in the orthopedic shoe.
BoneDog Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 Thought NASA had invented some kind of mine sweeper for the Solar System for a mo.
Mack Posted 9 November 2012 Author Posted 9 November 2012 Looks like their MASSIVE stock reduction is 10%. So, no one will buy anything and one week before the stores close the real discounts will happen. Worth keeping an eye on this for when the real fun begins.

Raj Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 Meanwhile, a few thousand people will be joining the massed ranks of unemployed... Some respite for some of them though, http://news.sky.com/story/1008169/dixons-may-hire-comet-staff-this-christmas
Mack Posted 9 November 2012 Author Posted 9 November 2012 Meanwhile, a few thousand people will be joining the massed ranks of unemployed... I bet they love a bargain also!
Jon the Hat Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 I love the sense of entitlement on this stuff, like Comet owe anyone a cheap TV just becuase they are in trouble.
Mack Posted 9 November 2012 Author Posted 9 November 2012 I love the sense of entitlement on this stuff, like Comet owe anyone a cheap TV just becuase they are in trouble. There is no entitlement issue, but if Comet want to flog off their stock with no offer of statutory rights then it needs to be a little better than 10% off.
SystonFox Posted 11 November 2012 Posted 11 November 2012 My mate bought a big nice shiny tv at a bargain price. Was walking out with if and the door man security bouncer guy stopped him and MADE him return it cos it was too much of a good deal. Apparently
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 11 November 2012 Posted 11 November 2012 He should of just carried on walking out if true ... customers rights
Soar Fox Posted 11 November 2012 Posted 11 November 2012 If its already paid for surely it's got nothing to do with security. Unless he wanted it for himself and was hoping to purchase it at the same price.
SystonFox Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 was well pissed when i wrote that it dont make any sense
ozleicester Posted 12 November 2012 Posted 12 November 2012 was well pissed when i wrote that it dont make any sense Intrigued by what ACTUALLY happened now though?
