Happy Fox Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Foxblogger â€@foxblogger Chinese businessman Mr Shilai Liu has been appointed the the Leicester City board of directors.
Babylon Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Google suggests he is more of a polo man And chairman of Jing Hung Investment Co Ltd edit: that was from a polo article. Can't find anything on them. There is a Jin Hung Ind though, don't know if it's them.
MooseBreath Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Grandson of one of china's former vice premiers apparently. Hopefully that means he's loaded.
indierich06 Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Interesting. Could mean a bit more investment in the club perhaps. Hopefully not, I think we're saddled with enough debt as it is.
Happy Fox Posted 13 November 2012 Author Posted 13 November 2012 Interesting. Could mean a bit more investment in the club perhaps. Hopefully not, I think we're saddled with enough debt as it is. At least not on Bolton's scale.
hackneyfox Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Why else would they invite someone to join the club?
MooseBreath Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Why else would they invite someone to join the club? Vichai is into polo I think. This guy owns a polo club and is apparently the best polo player on China. Maybe he has been given a place on our board in exchange for something polo related
21st Century Fox Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Why else would they invite someone to join the club? That awkward moment the day after you get wankered at a polo tournament and promise someone a seat on the board of your football club and they actually turn up to accept it.
Happy Fox Posted 13 November 2012 Author Posted 13 November 2012 Unless they are planning on opening a polo club in Leicester Just seen that Vichai is in actual fact the president of the Ham Polo Club in Richmond http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ham_Polo_Club
indierich06 Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Might just be that they were looking for another director for the board and they happen to be good friends with a successful Chinese businessman. It's all about who you know business.
hackneyfox Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Seems strange as they have only recently moved LCFC under the KP company. After buying out all the other directors why bring in a new one unless it is for extra investment or to help cover existing costs.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Maybe he thinks he is buying into Man U's B team
cc_star Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Hopefully everything remains pretty stable and there isn't a departure of the manager by January, a breakdown in team and an influx in playing staff here solely to pick up a pay-cheque... another period of all-change followed by transition is the last thing the club needs. Maybe he thinks he is buying into Man U's B team ManUtd's next first team Sunderland are the ManUtd rejects
AyewJoking Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 I see no problem with a chinese director so long as he doesnt noodle with the footballing side.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 The problem in appointing a chinese director is you feel like appointing another half an hour later..
hairy Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Pic explains a lot. Polo is obviously seen as social climbing in the far east and of course being on the board at LCFC
Voll Blau Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 Word is that he has a slow left arm! I gorrit.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 With all these Polo fanatics, our team is going to be mint.
TrentFox Posted 13 November 2012 Posted 13 November 2012 With all these Polo fanatics, our team is going to be mint. If you listen to some on here, with Whitbread in the team, you'd already think we had a hole in the middle !
