Tuna Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 ...in a competetive game, to the best of my knowledge, we go back over 19 years to the 21st of September 1993 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993%E2%80%9394_Football_League_Cup Rochdale 1 - 6 Leicester League cup second round first leg, back when there were two legs to ties. We won the second leg 2-1 at Filbert Street before going out to the Mighty United in the next round. Sadly cannot find the lineups anywhere, but I have a vague memory of Ormondroyd scoring at least one of the goals.

5waller5 Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 When was the last time we won 6-0 though?? And when was the last time that was in the league?? I can't remember one in my lifetime!
Matt Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 When was the last time we won 6-0 though?? And when was the last time that was in the league?? I can't remember one in my lifetime! 30 years ago? On RL after the game I think they said 1982/83 against Carlisle? May have got the year wrong but they definetly said against Carlisle.

davieG Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 The 8440 shows that Filbert ST wasn't guaranteed a full house and rousing atmosphere especially when there was 29k there for the final home game as we finished 3rd
Frank Large Doughnuts Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 I remember the Rochdale game. I visited with a mate while I was living in Salford. I also remember the Man Utd game. I left early (depressed) and got a burger on the way home. Conversation at the burger van went: Cheeseburger please. How did they go on? Getting hammered 5-1 Yesssss! United shit getting stuffed by Leicester!!! No. I'm a Leicester fan. oh fcuk off! I lived 10 years in Salford and we never won until the year I returned to Leicester. Still ranckles!!
Webbo Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 I remember that Carlisle game 3 penalties, 2 hat tricks (Lineker and Lynex) . The 8440 shows that Filbert ST wasn't guaranteed a full house and rousing atmosphere especially when there was 29k there for the final home game as we finished 3rd I remember during that era when we played Wrexham at home once . There was literally 6 people in their section of the kop.

urban.spaceman Posted 17 November 2012 Posted 17 November 2012 http://www.foxestalk...ils.php?mid=890 Why have I only just become aware of a whole stats section?!?! Today's awesome victory got me thinking it was revenge for this http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/page/matchdetails.php?mid=400 which I have now realised was TEN YEARS AGO
Leicester_Numan Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 Best sight of that Rochdale game was Steve Walsh sprinting from the halfway line and outpacing the whole defence to score. Some good goals that night

I've just had one of those rare "who the hell is that?" moments. Couldn't for the life of me remember Friar. 64 appearances in 4 years but obviously made absolutely no impression on me at all
Wakeyfox Posted 18 November 2012 Posted 18 November 2012 Why have I only just become aware of a whole stats section?!?! Me too, I could lose the rest of the day today browsing these! Many thanks for pointing this out...

Guy Posted 19 November 2012 Posted 19 November 2012 http://www.foxestalk...ils.php?mid=890 Ha ha. We went to that game in 1993. I remember Speedie getting in Schmeichel senior's face for some of the game and it wound the Dane up!! We still got stuffed 5-1 though and were no match at all for a young United side (Scholes and Giggs early days - to name a few)......in the days when the league cup was taken seriously still......
