Kyle_Le_Don Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-473018/Robbie-Savage-vile-joke-I-stomach.html Not of any importance just made me laugh... i remember that haha
BoneDog Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 :xmaslaugh: How can you post in the wrong thread when you started it yourself?! I've been trying to work that one out for at least 5 minutes! "I'll leave it floating for you to see" and "Matt Elliott confirmed that the Leicester toilets were working fine", are the best quotes from the story I think.
Carl the Llama Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 Can't help but like Savage Really? Just confirms what a cvnt he was imo.
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 24 December 2012 Author Posted 24 December 2012 It was late dont ask haha... Confuse meself at times...
whitlock Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 Use to like robbie, all of a sudden he's retired from football and on different programmes and he thinks he is some sort of footballing god. Can't be arsed with him. Mr average.
Captain... Posted 24 December 2012 Posted 24 December 2012 I still love him. Edit: and to be honest so should everyone else on here, we really are an appalling set of ungrateful fans at times, not everyone, but there really is a rotten minority that sadly doesn't seem to limit itself to foxestalk.
Parafox Posted 25 December 2012 Posted 25 December 2012 Without want to turn this into a Robbie Savage thread, I liked his commitment as a player. On the radio he is a bit of a **** but at least he's forthright and sticks to his guns. On TV he clearly thinks he's God's gift and as far as punditry goes, I find Stan Collymore much more reasoned and informed.
flowwolf Posted 27 December 2012 Posted 27 December 2012 I still love him. Oh really ? this avarage player has nothing positive to say about his time at Leicester and goes all out to lick Derby fans arses at every turn. What he forgets is like a lot of players who played for us under O'Niel he over achieved and won nothing or did nothing after he left us. Yes he played on in the prem but mostly on his reputation as a midfield thug that he always was. I would suggest that the turd he left swirling around in the bowl was heading in the same direction as his career.
StanSP Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 I don't get why he's hated so much on the various media platforms. He's a pundit that offers his opinion, even though he knows some people may not like it. Savage speaks his mind. I'd much rather prefer that than some Geordie or Scotsman or Irishman talking absolute pointless crap & spouting nothing informative on Match of the Day, for example.

He is disliked on here because when he left to join Birmingham he said something like it is nice to be at a big club like Birmingham, which our overly sensitive 'fans' took as a personal insult against the club. It was probably a daft way of saying what he was trying to say, but then that was Sav all over daft as brush, act first think later, that's why I used to love him, I was gutted when he left.
Rincewind Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 I try not think of him as a man stroke TV pundit celeb buit as a footballer that played for City and part of a successful team. Footballers move on and always praise the team they are playing for or about to play for. It helps when thje manager selects the team.
Saxondale Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 This is exactly the sort of anecdote I (perhaps misguidedly) created this thread for.

The way he ran to the Birmingham fans kissing the badge after they'd scored here put me off him for life. The willy puller.

I'd like a pundit that actually analyses what happens in the game rather than spouting banal crap like "they'll be pleased to have scored a goal" or "I think he's gone down easily there". Really? REALLY???? Fantastic insight. At the moment we only really have Gary Neville that does any kind of analysis. He gets praised for it but it should be the norm, not the exception. A pundit having a "personality" or an "opinion" and using that to deflect from the fact that, like the majority of pundits, you don't really have anything of interest to say, is no better than Shearer and his dullisms. Nothing against Savage, I just don't think he should be praised for having an "opinion".

True, Neville is the best of them all right now and whenever I tune in to a match and he's doing analysis it is great and I agree it should be the norm. But with Savage, and the way that he is, his opinion and the way he expresses it gives some kind of slant to what he has to say. I find him more entertaining to listen to than the dullards who go by the name of Shearer, Hansen, Lawro etc... And while we're at it, Lee Dixon isn't too bad either. It's a shame BBC lost him to ITV.

Not that I'm saying you are, I just used your post as a starting for my soap box rant
