The Year Of The Fox Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 What are everyone's plans this year? I think its incredibly overrated. I refuse to pay taxis at double time, and refuse to pay overinflated entry prices to a pub to be stood sobering up in a queue waiting for each drink. We went to that Mansion Party two years ago the otherside of Loughborough, massively overrated. House party at mine for us
Fox92 Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 I'll be doing what I do every year, staying in with my family. I personally think its overrated, go out and the prices are extensive, along with taxi's and places are rammed. I'd rather enjoy it all on tv.

Filbert_Ross Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 Driving up to Newcastle NYE and staying for 2 nights. Never had a night out in Newcastle or even been there so looking forward to doing something different.
Rincewind Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 Not much up to now. Night in with Jules Holland Mahogany show. Best program on the night.
Zingari Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 Not much up to now. Night in with Jules Holland Mahogany show. Best program on the night. Jools Holland is very wooden and the whole show has lost it's veneer in the last few years . There were some very unpolished performances last year.

skinnydipper Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012  maybe they'll do a good old oaky cokey at the party ! Our Birch is quite an entertainer. Perhaps he could teak over at the 'elm.

Haydos Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 Party at the local. Getting pissed and having a laugh with my mates. People that whine about it being overrated and whatnot are as bad as those that have to have a massive night. It's just another night, but one which everyone will be out and in good spirits on (hopefully). Never really seen the appeal in going out in town for it so I literally never had. Been to house parties/village pubs every year and always had a good 'un.
Finnegan Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 NYE is all about the house party. Anyone going up town for it is daft enough to deserve to pay over the odds for it.
Zingari Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 NYE is all about the house party. Anyone going up town for it is daft enough to deserve to pay over the odds for it. Good . Are we all invited to your place then ?
Kitchandro Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 Only been out a couple of nights on NYE but have enjoyed it far more than the ones I spent at home. I haven't had the chance to go out in a while and a house party in my shit house with about 2 other people and my parents upstairs would be terrible.
FoxyPV Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 we can get a babaysitter and head over to a mate's for a couple of hours. I'm working though on new year's day
ScouseFox Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 My mate's dad owns a pub. That's been us and everyone we know sorted for new year for the last few years. Always a good night. Cheap drinks for a pub, too. Usually walk back to avoid waiting/paying over the odds for a cab. It's about 2 and a half miles but when you're fúcked and in a great mood walking with mates and the sun's coming up it's a good walk. Love NYE. Everyone's always in a top mood.
Alexikokopops Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 NYE is all about the house party. Anyone going up town for it is daft enough to deserve to pay over the odds for it. I agree with this. An ex's birthday was New Year's Eve so went out in central London in 2008. I was working during the day and she'd polished off the best part of a bottle of tequlia before I met up with her and her friends. At one point I stopped to help a tramp who was too drunk to stand, lost them, and ended up walking around Covent Garden for an hour trying to find out where they were. Then they ignored me so went the wrong way on the tube and as a result I ended up, sober, in a dog dirt pub (the Tottenham by Tottenham Court Road tube station) because we needed somewhere when it actually went New Year. Then she went AWOL when it came time to get home and I spent an hour queuing to get on the tube at Leicester Square with her friends when I could have walked home in 45 minutes. At least the tube was free. Since that monumental clusterfuck of a night I've been to three house parties This year I'm going to the south coast to a friend's house/beach party. We have BBQs, we have fireworks, and we have lots of booze. HOORAY.

This especially playing the grand national with a certain road we walk down where near enough all fences are just above knee height. Jokes
ScouseFox Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 This especially playing the grand national with a certain road we walk down where near enough all fences are just above knee height. Jokes Haha . Always bump into random groups of people obviously walking miles and absolutely steaming and end up stopping and chatting, too. General good spirits from everyone because it's new year. Looking forward to it.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 Last few years we've been away night clubbing to Sheffield - this year my mates are off to Leeds (one of them supports them) on a similar gig but unfortunately I couldnt afford it when thay booked it so I can't go :-( on the upside, I tend to prefer a night in the local rather than a club for NYE so it's not all doom and gloom!
Tom17LCFC Posted 26 December 2012 Posted 26 December 2012 Most overrated night of the year, much prefer boxing day!
