theboxman1986 Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Inspired by the worst 11 thread was wondering if anyone can make an 11 with players that we signed but never played for the first 11 competitively. Only rule is that they cannot have signed for the youth team then graduated/got released. It must be that they signed to play for the first team right off the bat.
foxile5 Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Leon Crnic just about qualifies doesn't he? Perhaps you should say made under 5 appearances.....
theboxman1986 Posted 28 December 2012 Author Posted 28 December 2012 reason I ask is that me and my dad was discussing this over boxing day dinner and I think Casino Jimmy was the only one we could think of and we are not even sure he qualifies
David Guiza Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Marco Ferriera, got quite excited when we signed a young Benfica winger on loan and then he seemed to not even exist.
Yojoe36 Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Leon Crnic just about qualifies doesn't he? Perhaps you should say made under 5 appearances..... Hold up. He made an appearance? Against who?
Bettsj2 Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Adda djezziri? Harry Redknapp signed him for Pompey from us for an undisclosed fee. He never played there either?
Captain... Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Harry Redknapp signed him for Pompey from us for an undisclosed fee. He never played there either? Mandy's dodgy dealings again?
foxile5 Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Mandy's dodgy dealings again? More like Redknapps. That bloke would sign up a paraplegic just to cream some of the transfer fee. I'm SO glad we didn't sign that shady bastard. 'Honest, your Honor, it's awl pwoppa pukka on the tax fwont.....I just decided to bang it in an off-shaw account in me dogs name dint ah?' ****ing thieving spiv. Look at the mess he's left Pompey in, just to benefit himself.
ADK Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Kennedy pretty much fits that description. Paintsil too. I know they played for us but they were perm signings that didn't get much game time. Futacs might join the list too.
Aus Fox Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Jimmy Nielsen in goal Hassan Kaibai at right back
Aus Fox Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Kevin Ellison don't think ever played for us signed in the early 2000's Did Peter Canero ever get a game? He was always injured after signing from Scotland
Bettsj2 Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Mandy's dodgy dealings again? Definitely something dodgy about the whole thing.
Bettsj2 Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Kevin Ellison don't think ever played for us signed in the early 2000's Did Peter Canero ever get a game? He was always injured after signing from Scotland Canero played a few times in the Prem and in the Championship.
foxile5 Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Kevin Ellison don't think ever played for us signed in the early 2000's Did Peter Canero ever get a game? He was always injured after signing from Scotland Kevin Ellison's only appearance for us came at Old Trafford under Peter Taylor, I believe.
Leicester_Numan Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Are we counting sub appearances as an appearance as there are plenty who didn't start but made sub appearances?
MGLCFC Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 There's that Peruvian lad, can't remember his name, that Eriksson signed, now on loan to some Mexican club.
fleckneymike Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Kevin Ellison don't think ever played for us signed in the early 2000's Did Peter Canero ever get a game? He was always injured after signing from Scotland Ellison played, I can still recall the horror of watching him make his debut at OLD TRAFFORD. It was humiliating.
Alexikokopops Posted 28 December 2012 Posted 28 December 2012 Ellison played, I can still recall the horror of watching him make his debut at OLD TRAFFORD. It was humiliating. I saw him play for Lincoln a few times. He hit a one man wall from a free kick at about knee height. Quality. While I'm on the subject, my lasting memory of Lee Philpott is seeing him amble down the left wing for Lincoln and just falling over. There was no one within ten yards of him. Quality.
