Vardy to Preston?

Recommended Posts

Sven didn't ship him out for nothing

There's a difference between "shipping out" and sending out on loan. Just like we're not "shipping out" Vardy, we're sending him out on loan to gain experience.

Regardless of what Sven did, NP is getting the best out of Waggy once again.

I do apologise.. yes your right NP played him so many times that he wanted to go home .. Thanks for clearing that up ..back to the original thread maybe ???

Fernandes gave an interview in Switzerland straight after SGE was sacked saying that he wanted out. Hardly going to feature regularly after that.

Back on point though, I'd rather he went to a League 1 team like Tranmere doing well and getting confidence rather than a Posh who are struggling in the Championship.

I was happy when we signed Vardy. He has scored 30+ goals in a season albeit in a lower division, but that means he has an eye for goal. It's had not clicked for him here but that does not mean he is sh!t. He gets in good space and works very hard. We have had players in the past that do absolutely fcuk all In a game (dj) so I think that as it stands, Vardy would benefit going to a lower league team and I think he will do well. He may not be premiership quality, but I am sure that the loan will do him and us a load of good

Vardy was a relatively big gamble - record-breaking fee for a non-league player at 25 etc. - and he's yet to look the part, if we're honest. It's early days, though. If he could be loaned to a Championship club and get game time he may yet be of use, or at least recoup some of that fee.

As for Fernandes and other Sven-era players let go by Pearson... please!

Fernandes was only a stop-gap for Udinese, he was transferred to Portugal where he failed to settle, now he's back at his hometown club in Switzerland. He's hardly the world-beater some make out.

Similar things could be said for Vassell (32 and now without a club), Michael Ball (33, no club), Matt Mills (widely despised by fans of his new mid-table Championship employers), Lee Peltier (also at a mid-table Championship club), Jermaine Beckford (ditto, on loan), Danns (30, on loan in a relegation battle with Bristol City, after a career of relegation battles and lower league football), Pantsil (31, playing in Israel), Bamba (28, signed for title-chasing Trabzonspor in Turkey, they're now 7th and he last played over a month ago in a 0-4 defeat), Michael Johnson (Leicester is literally the only team he's played for in three-and-a-half years).

They've hardly gone on to bigger and better things, have they?

The best Sven-era players, it's safe to say, are still with us. And every time we're thinking that Pearson screwed up with Vardy, it's worth a glance at that list to remember how much worse it could have been.

All managers make mistakes, not that we have had vardy long enough to judge mind you.

Fergie spent £7 million on bebe, whose nose is larger than his range of football talent.

Definitely think there's still time for Vardy to be a success at Leicester, as long as he keeps working hard I'm sure his time and chance will come, people writing him off already are insane.

Need to see more from him though, and I'm sure he's got whatever it was that Nige, Shakey and a whole other bunch of managers saw in him last Summer

  • 2 weeks later...

I rate 5 of our strikers more than him, needs to go

nuge

wood

waggy

futacs

who else???

To say schlupp would just be insulting, and despite Futacs lack of game time, he has done nothing of note when he has came on in games, no assists or goals.

And the moral of the story is...don't come to Leicester if you want a long successful career haha
