StanSP Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 I dont really see what him being 17 has to do with it. Also dont see what he said before hand has any bearing on Hazards actions. Did Hazard read it before the game? No so what does it have to do with anything? Timewasting is part of the game. We see it all the time with late subs, holding the ball in the corner, the furthest player away on the pitch trotting over to take a corner, but when these things happen, you dont see players getting physical with each other. No doubt the kid made a meal of it but that doesnt make a difference to what Hazard actually did. Deserved the red and should get a 3 match ban. The kid shouldnt be a ball boy again either. Reacting like a pansy at the slightest of kicks. It wasn't that malicious or vile from Hazard, and he over-reacted for someone of his age. Also over-reacted before the kick, too. Rolling around on the ball like it was some kind of prized possession.
ADK Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Can imagine Knockeart doing something like that to be honest.
foxfanazer Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 And we have the cheek to moan at foreign players for diving and being pansy's

foxfanazer Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Imagine if that'd been Suarez! Shit really would've hit the fan!
StanSP Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 We see players rolling around for no reason week in, week out and never mention their age? It's also to do with the issue of calling him a ball 'boy'. Hence the age coming in to fruition. He isn't a boy anymore, just acting like one.
Simmsy Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Kid deserved it. What a cvnt. Hazard was silly to kick but he got the ball and the kid put on a performance to rival that of knocky when he was tackled at Huddersfield away.
Carl the Llama Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Clearly Hazard's acting on a recurrant belgian problem with dickhead ballboys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuZoa-Qb8jM

RobHawk Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 There seems to be a large slice of perspective missing from the majority of this thread! 1. Ball boy is just a term! Who still says linesmen even though they are assistant referees? 2. He kicked him and made contact! If he was going for the ball it doesn't matter! His boot still makes contact! 3. The lads a dick but that has nothing to do with it! Cristiano ronaldo is a dick but Rooney was still sent off for kicking him in the world cup - you can't kick people! 4. police are looking into it any wouldn't be surprised if he got a longer ban!

Okay. 2. Boot makes contact, but there's a massive over-reaction from the kid. It was barely a kick. 3. Dicks are dicks. They **** pussies. And assholes. Charlie Morgan is an asshole. Charlie Morgan got fvcked by a dick. 4. Police are going to interview Charlie Morgan. Why the bloody hell are they wasting their own time investigating this? What the hell is there to investigate?

True but no more than the over reactions we say week in week out on the pitch! This is what kids see week in week out and they emulate! We've all been there! Gone down a bit easy then tried to save face! 3. Team America quote I believe - nice! Still not the point though! 4. If you kick somebody in the ribs in front of 20000 people and sky tv cameras they have to make sure an assault charge isn't required! We all know nothing will happen but it's there job at the end of the day!
Carl the Llama Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 The Daily Mail keep up their stellar reputation for insightful journalism. Highlights include two Swansea players referring to the kid as a "little boy" (the way he cried about it, I'm not surprised they thought so), a brilliantly selective bit of quoting from the #ballboy twitter feed, somehow picking out the 3 negative remarks about Hazard, but skimming over the hundreds of tweets deploring Charlie's antics and a really grainy video image that makes it look like Hazard attacked him unprovoked and makes the contact look much worse than it was.
The Doctor Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 I genuinely think he kicked the ball. Looking at it he might have made contact with the little scrote, but I don't see it's worth a sending off, or any sort of police investigation - it's a player trying to get the ball so his team can push on, and a ballboy making a horrible attempt at what is essentially cheating.
Dan Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 I'm pretty sure I heard the bloke on SSN say 'will this be treated differently because it involves a child?' He's not flippin 10! The age difference between him & Hazard is 5 years
AdamN Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Hazard deserved the red, the ball boy deserved a kick in the ribs. Everybody wins!

There's not seriously a police investigation is there? My initial reaction was that Hazard was being shielded from the ball and the little nobhead (who acted like a 10 year old which may be why some seem to think he's that kind of age) pretty much lay on the ball before Hazard put his hands on him to gain balance whilst kicking it from under him. And it seems the majority on here are actually in agreement to my surprise, the majority on Twitter were largely on the ballboys side. If that's 'assault' like some are saying then I fvcking despair, kid should be well ashamed of himself, 17 years old some LAD crying over that, even if he'd been caught by the kick, to pretty much cry is embarrassing.

That and the fact that everyone keeps saying he'll have a "great day at school tomorrow", when he's a college student. So embarrassing. To top it all off he drives an Audi that Daddy bought him, adding proof to the hypothesis that most dicks drive Audis.

That's what RobHawk said - I've not the foggiest. That's what it looks like - the bloke is shielding the ball from Hazard, stopping him from getting on with the game. Completely against the whole point of being a ball-boy, but all Hazard has done is kicked the ball out. Inadvisable to, the outcome was always going to be him getting into hot water, but hardly an inappropriate or disgraceful action. Aye - I wouldn't have done what Hazard did myself, I'd have got the ref to deal with it to avoid the possibility of me being sent-off when my team was already at the desperate stage, but it's hardly something he should be being attacked for, while the kid gets off with little critism.
Zapp Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 disgraceful from the whiney little **** ballboy cant wait for other ballboys to start wasting time until it becomes a genuine problem i genuinely reckon banning him from games isnt going too far as punishment, send a message that you shouldnt be going out of your way to disrupt the game i bet some people will still claim that players who cheat *cough* suarez *cough* dont influence younger fans
Dan Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Shameful for anyone to defend that twat ballboy, he's ultimately the one bringing the game into disrepute (if that's the correct phrase), Hazard should've used his brain but I think he's been massively unlucky myself.

Sadly the fact some will defend the nobhead over Hazard, you can expect little to change. All about the intent for me and Hazard was intending to get the ball from a ballboy who was deliberately doing the complete opposite of his job. Vast majority would be sacked for that.
Kitchandro Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Surely these 7 pages aren't full of debate? The ball boy was being a little shit and got what he was always likely to get. Hazard kicked somebody on the floor and got what he was always likely to get. End of story. Once again an incident that proves that if you do stuff, stuff happens. The balance of the universe is restored.
GingerrrFox Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 You lot are unreal if we were playing in a semi-final and our ball boys were doing what every team does in time wasting and then a player came and kicked the ball out from underneath him whilst also booting him in the ribs right infront of L1 everyone would go ****ing mental. Hazard shouldn't have kicked him end of. Time wasting is a part of football, always has and always will be.
