skinnydipper Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 It was unkind to suggest that the lad overreacted. Apparently he is making a good recovery.
Raj Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 I've played football games where I've tackled 17 year olds (and been tackled by 17 year olds) much harder than that. Should that also be assault? idnt realise the lad was involved in PLAYING the game!
Mark_w Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Question. Can a ball boy be booked for simulation?
Bettsj2 Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Funny how the papers in general tend to shift the blame to Hazard. For the fact that he kicked the ball, that's a lot of media b*%shit. They blame Hazard because it was his fault. If he didnt get involved, nothing happens. Simple. Its not like the ball boy would have lay on the ball and not moved anyway is it? He would have took a few seconds to hand the ball to the keeper. Much less time than what transpired.

I was more referring to the majority of the newspapers' claim that Hazard kicked the little Welsh twat, not the ball. Which is a blatant lie. Even over here, the coverage is so unbelievably one-sided, it baffles me. And the pictures that accompany those pieces of journalism just show one single leg movement of Hazard, as if he was about to stomp Morgan. That's libel.

MC Prussian Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 He certainly acted like one. EDIT: I love the football that Swansea play and I've had nothing but sympathies for the club. Yet one single over-the-top reaction from a ball boy has somewhat tarnished the club's reputation, at least for me. I wonder if Morgan got away with it or if he got punished by Swansea City. But then again, he's the chairman's son, so...
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 He certainly acted like one. What's being Welsh got to do with it?
Jace Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 When I first saw it I was 100% on the ball boys side and thought Hazard was a disgrace and now the more stories I hear about that ball boy and the more times I watch what happened that match the more I am on Hazards side. Both parties are to blame
Dames Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2267864/Eden-Hazard-ball-boy-row-police-launch-probe-video-supports-claim-Chelsea-ace-kicked-ball.html Anyone still thinking Hazards a thug needs to watch that video, clearly only kicks the ball, the kid milks it.
MrSpaM Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Its pretty funny, today all the papers have changed their minds and are calling the kid out
Fox in the North Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Apparently 3 match ban is insufficient according to the fa...ffs
foxfanazer Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Apparently 3 match ban is insufficient according to the fa...ffs pathetic! The governing bodies that control this sport are utterly clueless
Finnegan Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 What's being Welsh got to do with it? If you call him a little twat without adding the Welsh bit you probably aren't baiting the resident angry Welshman. At a guess. Pardon my egocentric-ism!
Super_horns Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Well its probably the FA trying to show this is totally out of order and setting an example of Hazard but then what about the abusive comments on and off the pitch from players towards officials and all the general cheating that goes on? Kids see that and copy it as proven the other night. I saw the incident for the first time in full yesterday and the ball-boy really did react like you might expect a player to with the arms held out and sort of acting in half pain!

Its pretty funny, today all the papers have changed their minds and are calling the kid out My favourite bit is how the mail are calling it a "new" camera angle, when that exact image was shown many times on the night. It just didn't suit their story at the time so they chose to ignore it. Classic 'journalism'.
cc_star Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 Violent conduct is the use of "Excessive force" I'd say kicking out, was excessive, Red card & its associated ban is punishment enough IMO
marko Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 So the FA appeal Rooney's red for Euro 2012 after kicking an opponent, but want Hazard to have his suspension increased?! Go figure.
foxfanazer Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 So the FA appeal Rooney's red for Euro 2012 after kicking an opponent, but want Hazard to have his suspension increased?! Go figure. hmmm let me think. What club does Rooney play for again? The exception to the rules united fc
yorkie1999 Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 I don't understand why the ball boy is on the pitch side of the advertising boards.
Carl the Llama Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 So the FA appeal Rooney's red for Euro 2012 after kicking an opponent, but want Hazard to have his suspension increased?! Go figure. I don't think he's having his suspension increased, as I understand it he's getting a 3 match ban as normal and a fine on top of it.
marko Posted 25 January 2013 Posted 25 January 2013 I don't think he's having his suspension increased, as I understand it he's getting a 3 match ban as normal and a fine on top of it. I thought they were looking to have it increased to 4 games instead of the normal 3.

I hope for the sake of common sense he isn't, but we're talking about the FA here...

Unfortunately, the FA and common sense don't go together in the same sentence, unless the words "have zero" are placed between them.
