It's natural that some people will react like that and Im not sure whether a sending off was right, certainly shouldn't be extended ban Agree, it will be harsh if he gets an extended ban. Players do this all the time in the heat of the moment when someone sits or lies down on the ball.

Posted 23 January 2013 Posted 23 January 2013 Just showed on sky sports news a few other incidents of time wasting by ball boys, the ref should have done something and told both captains that anymore of it will be seen as time wasting and time will be added on, but the ref did nothing the first time so hazard felt he had to go for the ball to get it back, to get on with the game as the ball boys weren't doing it quick enough. He didn't push him over, but I bet hazard has gone over under less of a push before, so he can't blame the kid for that, and he shouldn't have kicked him, so deserved to get sent off, if it had been the goalie for example and not the ball boy it would have been a red so no complaints there, but Swansea need to be punished as it was blatant time wasting on more than one occasion and this post of behaviour can't be allowed to continue or else we will end up with neutral ball boys. Nobody involved comes out with any credit, a sad day for football

Ball boys regularly waste time at games but that's for the ref to deal with and add time on at the end! If the exact same thing had happened but it was a player on top of the ball it still would have been a red, the fact it was not a player makes it worse! Even if he is 17 yr old buck toothed, big eared dick head!

It's the ballboys job to get the ball to the correct player, not the player's job. That said, it is the ballboys job to get the ball back as quickly as possible (although we all know some clubs sometimes change that), so I can understand Hazards frustration. However, I'm not saying it's fine to do what Hazard did, it isn't, you can't kick someone in the chest (although, having watched it, I think he is trying to kick the ball from underneath him). Whatever your opinion, these headlines will once again diminish our (football) reputation, regardless of who's 'fault' it is.

Did Hazard read it before the game? No so what does it have to do with anything? Timewasting is part of the game. We see it all the time with late subs, holding the ball in the corner, the furthest player away on the pitch trotting over to take a corner, but when these things happen, you dont see players getting physical with each other. No doubt the kid made a meal of it but that doesnt make a difference to what Hazard actually did. Deserved the red and should get a 3 match ban. The kid shouldnt be a ball boy again either.
