kingfox Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 You lot are unreal if we were playing in a semi-final and our ball boys were doing what every team does in time wasting and then a player came and kicked the ball out from underneath him whilst also booting him the ribs right infront of L1 everyone would go ****ing mental. Hazard shouldn't have kicked him end of. Time wasting is a part of football, always has and always will be. Worst incident I've seen involving a ball boy at the King Power was when Levein or Kelly was in charge, I sat in B3 in those days, and right near the front so I could clearly hear what the player said. I think it was Ricardo Fuller and the ball boy threw it too slow, so Fuller called him a effin p***k, or something along those lines.

The whole point in having a ball boy is to have the ball back on the pitch as efficiently as possible! A time wasting ball boy is like a solar panel torch, Pointless! Hazard should have dealt with it differently, but I think the ball boy needs speaking with! Otherwise he will destroy any hope of other children playing that roll in the future.
Finnegan Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 I reckon if that happen down at KP there would be a lot of different views and comments about it on here. Doesn't matter whether the lad meant it or not, players can't go around pushing or kicking because a ball boy (or a player) is lying on a ball no matter how fcuked off they are..... If it was a player instead of the ball boy, there would have been a 22 man brawl and a lot of bad press for the game. Yeah, if this was Simon Cox booting the boot in to one of our ball boys for Forest we'd be on about ninety pages by now calling him a scumbag. Hazard's "cool" though. Not contesting the ballboy was being a nob but anyone who thinks it's okay to boot a minor in the ribs on live TV needs to calm down and have words with themselves. Not calling it crime of the century but it's hardly a cracking bit of vigilante justice, either, is it? Just abject stupidity from a footballer gleefully reinforcing the stereotype that everyone in the sport is a complete disabled. Way to give footballers a good name, Eden. Jeez.
RowlattsFox Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 The ball boy (is he even a boy, what happened to ball boys being young kids) took time wasting too far, it's one thing rolling the ball back slowly but to lay on the ball and refuse to give it to the player is ridiculous. He also ran past the ball in the first instance which caused hazard to run over. Hazard was stupid though and rightly sent off. Hope this whole event doesn't stay around the press for months now, hazard gets a ban and we move on.
Guest Bilo Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Clearly Hazard's acting on a recurrant belgian problem with dickhead ballboys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuZoa-Qb8jM This was pretty unforgettable as well.
RobHawk Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 There's not seriously a police investigation is there? My initial reaction was that Hazard was being shielded from the ball and the little nobhead (who acted like a 10 year old which may be why some seem to think he's that kind of age) pretty much lay on the ball before Hazard put his hands on him to gain balance whilst kicking it from under him. And it seems the majority on here are actually in agreement to my surprise, the majority on Twitter were largely on the ballboys side. If that's 'assault' like some are saying then I fvcking despair, kid should be well ashamed of himself, 17 years old some LAD crying over that, even if he'd been caught by the kick, to pretty much cry is embarrassing. Said on the news this morning that the police have looked into it, spoke to both party's and will not be taking it any further! No surprises there, wasn't worth taking further but they have to be seen as doing their job!
Captain... Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Swansea need to be fined as he wasn't the only one doing it and they had clearly instructed them to do so, and harsher punishments need to laid out whereby a team can be docked points or forfeit a cup tie for this sort of behaviour. Hazard should accept his 3 match ban, but it should also be made clear that anyone else physically striking a ballboy will get a happier sentence and up to a 6 month ban. This should never happen and regardless of whose fault it was it is shameful behaviour all round

Come on now Finnegan, we all know you wouldn't be sticking up for him if he wasn't Welsh.
Alexikokopops Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 I read that Hazard kicked a ball boy and thought he'd Kung Fu kicked a ten year old. Then I watched it and realised it's a 17 year old who seems a bit of a nob, and that Hazard was going for the ball (stupidly I might add) and it all seems a bit of a let down. Not tht I'm advocating Kung Fu kicking ten year olds on live TV. Maybe.
indierich06 Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 He didn't even touch the fat little willy puller, just booted the ball out from underneath him. I hate this namby pamby culture we've got going at the minute - if that had happened 20 or 30 years ago, no-one would have batted an eyelid.

It's abject stupidity from both parties, not just the player. This lad was 17 and more or less an adult and he should know better than to do something stupid like that on live tv. And he wasn't kicked in the ribs, you can see clearly that Hazard just kicks the ball from under him.
Monk Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Might be a silly comparison as I do know what Hazard did wasn't exactly violent - but when Cantona karate kicked the spectator back in the day - because he said something to him. Was it the spectator's fault then for getting kicked by Cantona? By the logic of most of you on here he deserved it. No doubt, the ballboy is a little shit. Hazard should either have appealed to the ref or stood and waited for the ball. If it was a challenge on the pitch with two players it would have been at least a yellow for both, and given that it was against the ballboy, and not a player makes it absolutely a red card. I would expect a 4-8 game ban.
Finnegan Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Not disagreeing that the ballboy was being a twat. But he's not the professional at the very top of his field pulling in millions a year. I imagine the club will be livid with him, regardless of whether they defend him in public. I'd not be applauding if one of ours did something that dumb.
AyewJoking Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Dont punish the ball boy, no sense kicking a lad when he's down. Hazard should come with a warning.

If he'd gone up to him, booted him and then picked the ball up, then fair enough. But he clearly just kicks the ball out from under him.
coolhandfox Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Using ball boys to waste time is nothing new all club do it, ball boys are given instruction before the game. Watch next time City are losing and see how fast they get the ball, then watch when we are winning! The problem here was that it was so blatant, Hazard has over step the mark and deserved he’s red card. Swansea should also be reprimand by the FA for being the game in to disrepute and failing to control there staff.
Leicester_Numan Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Charlie Morgan now has just under 81000 followers on twitter. WTF?
surrifox Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 my default position is to think badly of chelscum whatever they or their players do (he should be grateful it wasnt Terry who was involved) however in this instance the ball boy appears to be an attention-seeking twat and probably merited a kicking
MrSpaM Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Am i the only one who can clearly see he makes no contact with the guy whatsoever. At first glance i thought he'd booted him, but looking again this morning the only thing he kicks is the ball. What a massive over reaction. Sent off and a possible 5 match ban for kicking the ball, games gone crazy.

Quite pathetic really
Leicester_Loyal Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Joke, kid needs whacking the little ****. I'd be embarrassed if he was my 17 year old lad.
