The Standards of Driving

Most annoying things:

1. Lack of indicating - including coming off roundabouts, pulling into driveways or even indicating at the last moment.

2. Slow and indecisive drivers - just as bad as people speeding about everywhere, as you still don't know what the **** that are going to do! Earlier as I was pulling into Sainsbury's a driver decided to stop whilst she decided to scan the whole car park, thus slowing everyone to a stop. The bloody car park was empty.

3. People parking over two f'in bays. Why?! Especially in a small carpark you selfish pr*cks.

4. Not giving me a thank you wave, or a thank you wave for my thank you wave. Just ignorant.

5. People just pulling out at a crossroads, blocking oncoming traffic, as they are turning right and believe that they have the right to just to pull out!!

6. Needless braking and over-use for brakes.

The list goes on. Im actually wound up now!!

When you look to your right at a roundabout (more mini-roundabouts) as your're approaching and see nothings there, yet for some reason, the car in front stops, even though they can see or don't have the common sense to workout there's no need to stop.

And middle-lane drivers on the motorway.

People driving on their brakes all the time. Just love to brake all the time.

Go down i gears, let the engine brake. People just panic.

Driving around town is awful here, people dont incdicate, get in the wrong lane etc.

people sitting in the outside lanes on a dual carriage way or a motorway piss me off loads. You just get stuck behind them doing like 60.

So much to moan about really.

One of the most annoying things for me is people who stop randomly to let other people out. I am not talking about in slow traffic, but in normal moving traffic, they unilaterally decide to stop everyone behind them to let some other driver out or across the road. Just drive. They will be fine, a gap always opens up. I dont want to stop, so I should not have to. Also if you are doing this for me and gesticulating like an idiot while I ignore you, that is because I can see a huge gap a couple of cars behind you, and you are an idiot.

So if someone stops to let you in, you will deliberately not take the space because it isn't the one you picked yourself?

I live near a large, 4 lane roundabout and see people cutting-up traffic on a daily basis because they can't figure out how/refuse to change lanes on their way round, meaning the have to swing across multiple lanes at the last second before their exit. Shocking. They will also be the same cvnts who block you from pulling to the inner lanes in the first place.

One of my gripes is cars coming off a slip road onto a main road or junction.

You do not have the right to maintain your speed and just come into the road! Had a near miss near Thorpe Astley the other day.

A black corsa just came out, no indicating and was pretty much side on with me not ahead or behind.

Like most people, if I see a car coming onto the road and if I can I will change lanes so they can remain at the speed they are at and comfortably come on, but if I don't see you I can't do that and if I hadn't have moved over and papped my horn he would've hit me.

I Still got the innocent look off him but next time don't drive forward and look to the left talking to your missus!

If the road had been busy and there was a car to my right in the other lane. Major incident right there!

Arsehole!

Also, don't be right up my backside when I'm doing the speed ermmmm what's the word.....ermmmm......LIMIT! For that road, particularly one notorious for mobile speed cameras, then overtake me and give me an evil look as if to make me out to be an idiot!

What you need to do you gaumless Jeremy Kyle fodder is match up the number in the round signy thing in the road, to the round thing with numbers in your car, the speedo maybe?

And then add 10% so you can't quite be fined for speeding.

Women have no concept of mini roundabouts at all. Its brilliant when they all stop and look at each other.

I hate it when people don't acknowledge you for allowing them through.

I once stopped to let on coming traffic through with stationary cars on my side. The tosser behind me overtook me and went for it. That made my blood boil.

Im a pretty courteous driver for saying Im a white van man.

Whilst I moan about other drivers a lot I do make mistakes myself however I actually acknowledge them!

Usually it's when it's a drop in concentration on the motorway or if I'm in an unfamiliar city where my errors occour.

Yeah true but it says 30. Not 33, because in that case you could change the signs to the 33, but then you'd have to add another 10% to allow for error. And so on and on and on. :D :D

I get your point but its about safety. It's sad that it takes somebody to have a friend or family member die in a road incident to get people to not drive like numpties and put other people under pressure to go faster all so they can get him , what , 2 minutes early.

Because let's face it you eventually catch the speeding arseholes at the next lights.

I agree with all of these, however have a few "different" ones to add.

Firstly, Dual-Carriage ways. The limit is 70 for a car, not 60. On the A46, please stop BRAKING to 60 at the Thrussington speed camera. If you don't know the limit, stop driving, but don't come by me at 90, brake, and hold me up.....

Secondly, van drivers. I should be able to pass you on a single carriage way, because you can ONLY DO 50!!!. It seems that all van drivers, especially in Transit Connect and other small vans, think they're in a car. You can only do 50 on a single carriage way, and 60 on a dual carriage way it's a van, not a car..... learn the rules!

Oh, and finally, you don't get a prize for sitting in a queue, and not using both lanes. At lights, or roundabouts, have 2 lanes going straight on use both. You also don't get a prize by trying to STOP people using both lanes. If you use the right line, and it disappears, the person who's lane disappears has right of way... I will cut in, and if you hit me, you have to pay!!!!!

GRRRR... I'm cross now....

I know where you mean. I go home from work every day down that road and the amount of people that come down the slip road and straight onto the dual carriage way is stupid.

I stay in the right hand lane and anticipate that the car in the left hand lane will have to move across as some idiot will come down maintaining their speed and just pull out.

Really? Seems strange, then, that I've seen just as many men doing that with gormless looks on their faces. >_<

Got a few myself.

Indicators are a major annoyance here. As are people who don't look at roundabouts. Theres one I go round every day, its a three road roundabout with one going to a car park so people don't often go all the way round like I have to after work. Almost every day people will pull out on you then give you the finger when you beep at them for pulling out on you.

Middle lane motorway drivers who travel at 65mph.

People who drive at 40mph EVERYWHERE. The road from work to my house has many changes in speed, national speed limit to 30 and alot of people can only do 40mph and nothing else.

Have noticed the amount of drivers going through on red ( when it's changed) in leicester and it is increasing loads. I drive a lot around the country and except in London you don't often see it, but it's bad in Leicester and getting worse

I'm not surprised when they are letting 4 cars go through some lights.

Terrible drivers on the roads now days, especially the people that drive really slow like 15/20mph.

the majority of the **** ups and caos are caused by people aged over 75+

I've been driving for 16 years. I drive a lot for my job and in all weathers all over the UK. I've never had an accident and have never received any points.

The best advice I can give anyone is to treat everyone else on the road as if they are a dangerous demented willy puller who will kill you if they get half a chance. Be nice to them by all means, but dont leave yourself at their mercy.

Come to think of it, that's not bad advice for a lot of the rest of life...

I ****ing HATE people that skip red lights. I ride a motorcycle so naturally accelerate quicker than cars at the front of the queue. Every single day I get cut up at St Margarets and Welford Road by idiots. Once I was so pissed off I accelerated as quick as possible to get in front of the offending car - was a bit stupid but I think I taught him a lesson

I saw a brilliant one yesterday. I was sat in a queue of traffic on a hill leading up to a set of traffic lights (if anyone knows Hugglescote it's the hill towards Coalville leading up to the crossroad near the post office). Out the corner of my eye I saw an Enterprise van on the wrong side of the road pull up half onto the kerb. I thought nothing of it, as I thought he was just pulling up to park. He then carried on two wheels on the pavement, two wheels on the wrong side of the road and drove all the way up the hill to the junction, where he cut back across on coming traffic and back onto the right side of the road cutting people up. Some people are incredibly stupid!
