ousefox Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 http://www.visityork.org/ My Dad is one of the directors of Visit York, so if there are any problems with the site tell me and i'll give him some stick!

Voll Blau Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 I remember going on a pretty good boat tour on the Ouse when I was younger. If you're keen on history you can't go wrong, it's a cracking city. Also there's a good fudge shop as I recall?
Fox92 Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 I'm a fan of trains, so the National Railway Museum always attracts me in York... Haven't been for years though, is the Mallard still there?
notnow john Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Minster, take the guided tour, the guides bring it alive?

Carl the Llama Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Seeing as its anniversary weekend that must mean your due a once yearly "Fruedian slip"? Unless your lucky all year round... You mean he'll blurt out something about wanting to shag his mother?
darko2k7 Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 http://www.thedungeons.com/york/holding/ This looks alright !
cambridgefox Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 My mrs is like the grand old duke of York She's had 10,000 men!
ousefox Posted 30 January 2013 Posted 30 January 2013 Don't think much of the dungeouns myself but some people seem to like it. Jorvik Centre is probably worth doing but doesn't last that long. If you're feeling energetic you can climb the minster, great views from the top. Alternatively you can just get on the wheel and get the views from that. Cliffords Tower is nice to look at but there isn't much too it inside. Castle Musuem is worth going to definitely. If you like fudge, go to the fudge shop and watch them make it, they'll give you some free samples too. There is so much to do, you forget when you live there. Love York, haven't been to a nicer City in the UK myself. A walk by the river is even a nice thing to do if you just want to have a wander. Depending on whether the river is up! Oh and Thomas the Baker is the best bakery you'll ever go to!

ozleicester Posted 31 January 2013 Posted 31 January 2013 We enjoyed the Yorvik viking thing...its not a thorough history, but its a kind of fun way to do it....and the ride at the end is a laugh
