FoxesAreBlue Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 I'd go back to the 21st July 1969, I'd boot Neil Armstrong out of the way, slide down the ladder first and totally steal his thunder. And his immortal words.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 Wish you were still in one so I could nail it shut.
Lamby Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 The Blitz, see if the "community" spirit did actually exist back then as portrayed by people.
Lamby Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 Berlin Wall, 1966 World Cup, Rosa Parks' bus. That was staged actually
pSinatra Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 That was staged actually "actually"?? There are suspicions that it may have been staged because of her involvement with the NAACP, but these arguments are weak. She might have been shagging MLK for all we know, but I don't see what difference that would make? She was sat in a seat designated for blacks, until further whites got on the bus leaving only standing room. She was asked to move to the back of the bus to make room for the recently boarded whites.......& she refused. Had those whites not boarded - she could have remained where she was originally sat. Deliberate or not, it really did happen & was a significant event in the Civil Rights Movement...........& therefore could be considered an important event in history & one that someone might want to have witnessed. Why would you even bother to suggest that it was staged or fake?
Uncle Albert Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 Yesterday and stick my bank account on AC Milan beating Barcelona 2-0.

steveherbe Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 Battle of Waterloo for me. Been to the battlefield, seen the epic movie, would love to see the real thing. Or as someone else said, D-Day landings, specifically Omaha beach - only as an 'untouchable' observer though, too much shit flying about in reality.
Alf Bentley Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 I'd go visit Jesus, and then come back with a real answer. I'd visit Jesus then come back and shock everyone with the news it was all a load of bollócks I'd visit Jesus at the crucifixion and start a crowd chant of "always look on the bright side of life". Or how about being there for the Big Bang? That would be a mind-blowing experience....quite literally.
Captain... Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 To be one of the first to land in Australia or America, explore the new world and see things that nobody has ever seen before, as great as things like the internet and Google maps is, it really does take the fun out of discovery and exploration.
Zingari Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 Some sporty things I'd like to go way back in time and witness. Red Rum winning the 3rd grand national Aldiniti winning for Bob Champion John H Stracey winning the world title in Mexico beating Jose Napoles Torville and Dean gold in Sarajevo Ann Packer winning gold in Tokyo 1966 world cup ( obviously) Ali regaining World title Arkle winning 3rd gold cup

The Doctor Posted 21 February 2013 Posted 21 February 2013 I hope Rummy didn't end up in a supermarket freezer He did, I decided to forgo the buying of rum and couldn't remember where the alcohol aisle was.

I'd love to be able to see Dancing Brave's Arc win for racing. Boxing wise anything that involves James Jeffries (expect the JJ defeat) John L. Sullivan or Jake La Motta. I absolute love reading about the old fights, sends the imagination wild. Think it was Cahrley Mitchell who Sullivan was losing to in the 55th round, being sick in the corner he finally got a second wind and came back to regain his World Title in the 71st round.
