Asha Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 ...what would it be? It can be absolutely anything that's ever happened; an event more than any other that you would want to witness 'live', or even something you witnessed anyway but would choose to see again.
Danizen Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 I would've liked to have been there when Hitler came to the realisation that the war was lost. Bruno Ganz made a good stab of acting it out in Downfall but I'd prefer to see the real horror in his eyes
kingfox Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 I would love to go back and witness, King Richard being tarmacked over.
foxfanazer Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 I would've liked to have been there when Hitler came to the realisation that the war was lost. Bruno Ganz made a good stab of acting it out in Downfall but I'd prefer to see the real horror in his eyes i was actually thinking that
Kitchandro Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 I'd choose to go back to the happiest moment/s of my life and relive it/them over and over again. Howard against Leeds would probably be in my top 5, so that would be one. Other than that, I'd love to witness matches from different eras of City's history. Our first ever game, the very early years of Filbo, 47K in attendance in the 20s, more 40K plus attendances watching the great 60s team, a classic Bloomfield performance, packed terracing in the 80s, the Cambridge play-off semi-final, Claridge's shin...all expereinces I'll never see the likes of. I'd like to know the answers to some of the world's great mysteries; like JFK for example, so I wouldn't mind being strategically placed to discover the truth about those things.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 Would witness that great day at the Melbourne Cricket Ground Saturday 24th September 1966 Would also have loved to have been in Berlin when the wall got pulled down.
Carl the Llama Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 Hitler's probably the 1st thing that comes to anyone's mind. I'd go back to when he applied to art school and make those feckers take him in. Hitler aside, it'd be nice if T-Rex, Megalodon, Liopleurodon and the Mosasaurs were all the same period, unfortunately I can't pick which I'd like to see more so I'd probably just forgo them all and spend a week chilling in whatever was there before the big bang.
ACF Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 I'd go visit Jesus, and then come back with a real answer.
Zingari Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 I'd go visit Jesus, and then come back with a real answer. The real answer to what question? How to turn water into wine? How to raise people from the dead? Did he shag Mary Magdalene ? Is he still any good at carpentry ? No real surprises where I'd like to have been . Dealy Plaza 22nd Nov '63. With a crew of expert photographers.

Anyway, the more you know........the more danger you put yourself in!
Zingari Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 Would you take a bullet for him? Anyway, the more you know........the more danger you put yourself in! Nah , I'm not stupid enough to take bullet for him , and besides I think there were bullets coming from too many directions. Yes i'd probably be dead now if i had real evidence , but if i'd have been smart enough to hide it until say 22nd Nov of this year ( 50 years) and flood the net with pics of the other gunmen I might get away with it. Not that many people would grasp the consequence of it anymore , most people would just shrug and say "so what?"
The Doctor Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 I'd go visit Jesus, and then come back with a real answer. Pah, I'd visit the time of his birth, murder him and save humanity from being stalled for many a century under theocratic rule. Since he probably didn't even exist though, I'd probably just kill the chaps who wrote the bible to be on the safe side. Other than that I'd go back to the renaissance, meet the likes of Copernicus, Da Vinci, Galileo. Wouldn't mind popping into the enlightment era and having a nice look at the Illuminati as well.
AyewJoking Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 I'd visit Jesus then come back and shock everyone with the news it was all a load of bollócks

There's enough historical evidence that a man claiming to be the Son of God existed in what is now Israel around the time of first century, but there's no evidence at all to back up what he said. I'd like to go back to the moment Hitler realised the war was lost as well, just so I could do a Nelson Muntz style 'Ha Ha' in his face before making a sharp exit. I'd love to visit America during the Roaring Twenties, always found that era fascinating. Meet Shakespeare and tell them his comedies weren't funny.

Not really - the only accounts come from the likes of Tacitus, who was born about 50 years after jesus supposedly lived. Still, I'd just quite like to commit time-travel murder.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 The October Revolution 1917 That'd be good. Quite like to see Ceaucescu panicking like crap in the Romanian Revolution as well, I'm vindictive like that.
Kitchandro Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 To be honest I'm quite disturbed about the amount of people who would be willing to mess with the space/time continuum. Shame on you.
Guest MattP Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 Great question. The Old West, any point. Alexandria, Egypt, Cleopatra time. Building of the Taj or the Great pyramid. D-Day landings. Titanic voyage. General Cortez arriving in Mexico. Too many, if I had to pick one I'd probably go back to ancient Egypt though.

That's kind of what I was alluding to! Go back and say there was the bloke, but he wasn't all there and a couple of people believed him, then it just escalated from there.
bovril Posted 20 February 2013 Posted 20 February 2013 It'd be great to witness any of these historical events, but I'd be sorely tempted to go back to March 5th 2000, and watch Leicester put five past Sunderland. I started watching City in '95, so I had never really experienced anything before O'Neill's team and didn't appreciate how good it was at the time. Now I realise we'll probably never hit the heights like that again, without spending huge money of course. And it will never be quite the same in the new stadium. I'd love to go back and watch Heskey, Collymore, Izzet, Lennon, Elliott, Flowers in old Filbert Street.
