Pearson out. Realistic?

Ipswich wanted to keep Wellens and Shef utd defo want to keep Gally I know that for certain.

So they both made offers to buy these players and take on their contracts did they? What about Waghorn, who wanted to take him?

I only need to look through most of your posts and you clearly think you opinion counts more than others!

A considered opinion is worth more than ill considered one yes. Saying he should have sold x and then signed x is ridiculous, especially when you make him out to be an idiot for not doing so. There are so many other factors involved you just completely ignore!

And I don't know what you do for a living but you spend far to much time on here!

Yes and my post count is from 2004!!! Where as yours is from just two years... you're hardly in a position to be lecturing anyone on spending too much time on here.

No, he hasn't done fantastically well this time around. I've stuck with Pearson, but you'd have to be a fairly hard-line backer to feel there was anything exceptional about our progress under him.

In truth, many of us would have been a little deflated had we known - when he arrived - that fifteen months on we would be fifth, nine points off second, fourteen off first and on a poor run. Most neutral pundits would feel, at best, that we are a strong side, assembled at great cost, that has failed to capitalise on its opportunities to cement a promotion place.

On top of that, the insights we're given into his attempts to avoid blips like this aren't particularly promising. There is nothing in his tactical nous or interactions with the media to suggest he is even aware that we need to do better if we want to win promotion.

Really?

1.) Many people were predicting us to be worse off than we are now at the start of the season.

2.) I think people would have been delighted that we can now turn out performances where we score 6 goals and play beautifully.

3.) If people 15 months ago saw our squad now compared to then, they'd have been very pleased.

4.) Our best goal difference in the league, and the tightest defence (correct me if I'm wrong) in the league wouldn't have deflated anyone.

5.) The fact that we'd been on two 5-game winning streaks would have also astonished people - we couldn't win two in a row much last season!

6.) Our 5th place, having been 2nd a couple of games before, and with games in hand, certainly wouldn't have deflated us 15 months ago.

Yes, we're on a blip of form, but that statement is ludicrous in my view.

We have made superb progress from 15 months ago.

Dig out the threads before Christmas it was the same then, we're rubbish, Pearson is rubbish, we've been found out, we aren't good enough... 5 games later we were second.

I find it baffling that people STILL react like this, I can forgive it the first time around. But when their comments ended up looking silly the first time you'd think people would perhaps not be so hasty in writing everyone and everything off.

I'm a big Pearson fan as the majority know but even I'm struggling to defend the last week or so, stubbornness really has shone through. I think he'll get it right but his interviews have concerned me just a little, it just sounds like he doesn't know even himself where we went wrong.

The fact is though this is a blip in one impressive reign and I'd honestly stick with him even if we don't go up. The bloke isn't an idiot, he knows what he's doing, why do some feel obliged to get rid just because he didn't get us promoted? That's assuming he doesn't, of course. Give him a couple of years rather than chopping & changing every season.

I've seen that thrown about a lot this week, in what way would you say he has been stubborn? He played the team that almost everyone on here would have picked Tuesday, so it can't be that team selection.

You go weeks without coming on here, but you know that I'm on here when you're not on here. Now it strikes me that you've not really thought that one through very well.

Not really you just need to read through topics to see how much your on here. Get a proper job!

Question.

If we lose the next 2 - 3 games and drop out of the play-off places, do you think NP's job will be under threat? Do you think the owners will pull the trigger before season end?

I am not being negative just posing a serious question. I do not want NP out for the record.

Fair question, I could see Pearson quitting if failed to make the playoffs
