Physical human experimentation is a very, very dark art. That said, it might be interesting to do some psychological stuff to see if they really have been truly brainwashed by their ideology and there's no hope of rehabilitating them. Given the nature of their crime you could probably get away with trying some pretty extreme psychological techniques to see if you can't bring them away from the lunatic they've become. Nothing to lose, after all. If it proves impossible to rehabilitate them, you have to keep them locked up as they'll always be a threat.

It's frightning to think what they can achieve. Reading that article just makes me feel sick as well, going into public places are shooting before using a bomb. We never know when it's going to happen either.
