But you were rubbishing our play earlier in the season when we were playing "the aggressive passing football" were you not?

No I was not.

I was giving NFP a hard time early doors for playing "4-4-2 with 2 men up and 2 men wide" but shut up as the integration of Knockaert into the team and the free role given to him and, to a lesser extent Marshall, made our system work, taking us top of the table.

Our decline started soon after that, though it took a while to see how bad it was and what was happening. The losses to Palace, Watford, Leeds and finally Millwall were the clues but it took until our awful capitulation at Millwall to begin to realise what was happening.

Millwall was, for me, the pivotal game of the season so far. We were still around 4th/5th in the league and we went there and once again set up for a point, just as we had at the other teams mentioned above. But this was Millwall FFS a mid table team at best, and we bottled it.

From then on we just became more and more negative and I started calling us on this, the resurgence with the arrival of Chris Wood was extremely positive in terms of results but it did not bring back our passing game and recent performances have simply been dire.

Team I would like to see tomorrow...

Schmeichel

St Ledger - Morgan - Keane - Konchesky

Wellens

King - Drinkwater

Schlupp - Nugent - Dyer

Subs - Logan, De Laet, Whitbread, Marshall, Gallagher, Waghorn, Kane

Rob Tanner confirmed De Laet and Konchesky are back, actually not seen anything about Wood apart from Stringer saying he is a doubt, while Knockaert is definitely out, while James is probably still injured.

If Wood is injured, I would like to see Schlupp put up front in a front three, to add more pace, while put Konchesky back in at left-back, St Ledger and Schlupp don't deserve to be dropped to the bench, as they were probably our two best players at Cardiff.

De Laet has done alright at times, but he definitely has competition now with St Ledger, I think I actually prefer St Ledger at right-back, hasn't put a foot wrong when he has played there. Schlupp will probably start left-back, but I would really like to see him up front, Kane is useless out wide, while I just wouldn't put Marshall in.

That's the line up I would like to see, but I can also see this as a possibility...

St Ledger - Morgan - Keane - Schlupp

Marshall - Drinkwater - King - Dyer

Nugent - Kane

Subs - Logan, De Laet, Konchesky, Wellens, Gallagher, Waghorn, Vardy

We didn't set up for a point at all, we played poorly but we never set up for a point. In fact that has been a criticism by some, the fact that we haven't gone away to just get a point may just be our ultimate downfall

We dominated the first 5 minutes with the ball in the Millwall half - about 3 corners - how is that setting up for a point?

Moments away from getting 3 points against the top side and it's not good enough for you. Can't you manage your expectations for a side that is fifth in the table? Btw keep up the anti-emoticon therapy.

Thanks for the support......

Oooops sorry, still 'one day at a time' as we say.......

However like Col you need to learn to distinguish between my positive reaction to the result where I said quite clearly that "a point at the league leaders was a good result" and my reaction to our performance which I thought was quite poor given that Cardiff were, on the night, woeful.

He's been rubbishing our play all season, full stop.

Not all season, take a look at my reply to Babs a little further up.

Oi!

Keep me out of it Brian Clough!

Just cos you're going on and on like a stuck record I don't want to be part of your responses.. Unless asked for...

However sounds a good chance to see Schlupp and Nugent upfront

lol

Maybe when Kane, Vardy and Waghorn pick up injuries and Konch is back to full fitness you'll get your wish.

Disagree entirely, my abiding memory of that game is Knockaert and Dyer playing deep, alongside King and Drinkwater virtually in front of our back 4.

They stayed so deep that our attacking play for almost the whole of the game (after the first 5 minutes apparently) consisted off long balls hit directly at Danny Shittu.

I think we were very negative and defensive, but as in other games, really bad at it.

Sorry Col, taking your name in vain...... :P

Just so I am clear, is 'going on and on like a stuck record' similar to that other bloke always calling for the inclusion of a defensive midfield player or is it somehow different?

Completely different of course!

A DM? I've hardly even mentioned it!

You've had a positive reaction to a result this season?! Did I blink and miss it?

I think you must be a hamster or something, your 'blink' lasting several months......

As I said, I might criticise the performance, and often do, but it is hard to criticise a result.

I know our we are awful at being defensive, we must have one of the worst defensive records in the leagu

We've only sold 1,818 apparently. That's poor for us, we took 3,000 there on a Monday night when Yakubu got that cracker.

Has everyone given up because we've lost a few? :dunno:

That was a Saturday, same time as tomorrow.

I reckon prices have had a lot to do with it, can't remember how much they were before but I don't recall a huge issue about them.

Ah ok fair enough.

Still, we're in a better position in the league, it's towards the end of the season, I was thinking we'd sell 2,500.

Prices probably have gone up but still, I expected more. I know it's not quite Forest but it's not Burnley either.

£31 when it's on Sky
