Ford Super Sunday Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 EDIT: Luc Nilis already mentioned, don't want to duplicate!
Kitchandro Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 how can you forget Montella after he put us out the cup! I didn't even listen to games back then I should think!
cc_star Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Whilst not forgotten because they made a long & lasting impact Ravenelli, Juninho & Emerson at Boro were quite some signings.
Soar Fox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Hernan Crespo. Lethal striker, big flop 20 goals in 48 games for Chelsea isn't too bad.
rico Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Danish striker Jon Dahl Tommason - Newcastle, think he scored one of his only goals against us !
Kitchandro Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 20 goals in 48 games for Chelsea isn't too bad. That's what I was thinking, I was sure he got plenty of goals but for some reason he was always on the bench.
Soar Fox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Mateja Kezman is one I would have expected to score more goals for Chelsea.
foxfanazer Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Adrian Mutu He scored plenty, just not on the pitch
Corky Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 Whilst not forgotten because they made a long & lasting impact Ravenelli, Juninho & Emerson at Boro were quite some signings. And they still went down with those players. Best side to get relegated?
Soar Fox Posted 19 March 2013 Posted 19 March 2013 And they still went down with those players. Best side to get relegated? I'd say the West Ham side that got relegated in 2003 were the best. Joe Cole David James Michael Carrick Paulo Di Canio Frederic Kanoute Jermain Defoe
OzFox Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 And they still went down with those players. Best side to get relegated? Let down by a dodgy centre half
Soar Fox Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 No Mendieta to Middlesbrough? Not worth reading! Forgot about him moving to Boro. What a player he was in his prime.
David Guiza Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Pretty surprised that I remember at least 90% of those mentioned, still remember Montella scoring for Fulham in the 3-2(?) at Craven Cottage. Ravenelli coming back to England for Derby was unusual too, think he may also have scored against us.
21st Century Fox Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Jari Litmanen at Liverpool and not making an appearance at Fulham. I'd also maybe include Attiliio Lombardo, I think he had a season in the Prem but he was at Palace for a bit longer. I remember when there was an influx of Italian players in the 90's when I was younger and could still remember a modicum of Italian I used to write to them asking for their autographs. I've got a shoebox somewhere stuffed with some classic Serie A players signed photos. I remember Lombardo sent me a nice letter too.
Unit Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 A very fat socrates played one game for Garforth Town.
Captain... Posted 20 March 2013 Posted 20 March 2013 Michel Salgado at Blackburn, won everything there was to win at Real, 53 caps for Spain, ended his career getting relegated under Steve Kean. Morientes is a great shout, too. I do think of all those mentioned the most bizarre has to be Mancini, he was a legend in Italy, and then Baggio at Blackburn, completely forgot about that one.
OzFox Posted 25 March 2013 Posted 25 March 2013 Mario (two goals in a world cup final) Kempes played a couple of games on trial at Spurs, one of which was at Enfield. Seem to remember a big crowd turning out for that, although he obviously didn't fancy it much
SystonFox Posted 25 March 2013 Posted 25 March 2013 Morientes was brilliant for Liverpool And I don't think some of these are "forgotten" , they're just simply "foreign"
Soar Fox Posted 25 March 2013 Posted 25 March 2013 Morientes was brilliant for Liverpool And I don't think some of these are "forgotten" , they're just simply "foreign" Personally I didn't think he was very good during his time at Liverpool. I remember him scoring for Monaco against Real Madrid who had loaned him out and it knocked Madrid out of the champions league.
SystonFox Posted 25 March 2013 Posted 25 March 2013 in a slightly unrelated post but not worthy of its own topic. David Speedie was part of a question on a QoS last week. in his 1994 fox leisure blue shirt. brilliant
rico Posted 25 March 2013 Posted 25 March 2013 Taribo West - from Inter Milan to Plymouth via AC Milan and Derby
