Happy Clapping

Pearson's tactics have more holes in them than the sieve in my cupboard. If people are happy with that, then so be it.

I think Pearson will be gone at the season end but if we lose next Tuesday, he could be out by then.

But you know how it is "if you don't like it, don't come".

I'm trying to understand the viewpoints of the more unsatisfied people. How did we get to 2nd if his tactics are completely shit?

Same way Taylor got us to the top of the Prem?? No one knows and if we don't stay there, no one cares

That's been done to death:

- it's a marathon not a sprint

- Wood and the long-ball game

- alleged feuds

Etc etc et fookin cetera...

lol

We weren't consistently in the top 6 under Taylor.

We're not in it now - a division lower

I really, really hope you aren't implying Pearson is worse than Taylor......

So who do we replace him with Col?

I seem to remember yourself being a fan of Sven.

Pretty ironic how you criticize NP for the money he has spent really....considering Morgan, Keane, de laet, James, Drinky, knocky and wood have all been better signings than Mills, peltier, pantsil, danns, johnson, beckford.

But how do we know that he has failed? The owners say they want promotion, but so does every club in this league. What if they have set NP to task of.....

1 - Assembling a squad of players capable of being together over the next 5-8 years, and help with the objective of self-sufficency.

(Would help explain the signing of Blyth, Clifford etc, and also explain why he is yet to add any real experience to the squad, become he first needs to offload the senior players who don't play...wellens, gally, danns, beckford etc.)

2 - Challenge for promotion to the Premier league whilst trying to become self-sustainable.

If it is true that you predicted we would finish 7th, why are you so outraged at us (potentially) finishing 8th?

I know that if I expected us to win the league, but we got second, i would still be delighted.

Do what!!

A fan of Sven!!

That's the funniest thing I've read on here in ages.

Well done!

lol

And you are REALLY looking 5-8 years into the future?

Another terrible response there to someone who's taken the time to debate with you. You act like you want discussion and knock people who criticise without question yet you aren't willing to present solutions or suggestions. I don't really take pleasure in saying it this often but it's typical again of those that want rid of him.

I can kind of understand your position but when there's so little actual discussion beyond initial criticism or insults I find it harder to empathise.

Again... Coming from a lad who claimed that 'everyone thinks you're a dick' on an alternative thread, ill take that with a pinch of salt.

And being accused of being a Sven fan IS ridiculous, hence the post.

You need to try a little harder Haydos. C'mon..

He is a dick when he's blaming Pearson for not having Beckford here lol

You replied to one line of that post. You post a fairly provocative topic (that had a reasonable point behind it if you ignored your condescending overtones) and then don't contribute anything when challenged. I think you're the one who needs to 'try harder' whatever that means :S

The situation has been created by Pearson himself.

Up until January his tactics were perfectly sound. The way we played was superb and the way we went about attacking teams was excellent. Then from our strong league position, it's as though Pearson said to himself right, we're here now, lets consolidate and play more conservatively. From this point onwards, the game at which is happened is open to debate, but many call the Fa cup tie vs Huddersfield as the turning point. Whatever. Irrelevant. From this point onwards, Pearson goes default Pearson, defensive, rigid 442, less emphasis on attack. Unfortunately for him and for us, it's swung so far the other way in terms of where we were to where we are now that he is completely lost as to how to turn it around.

The cohesive attacking unit we saw before January has long gone and the team doesn't have a clue what it's doing.

You don't think he can learn from this situation then?

Seems like the players have no confidence lately, that shot nugent had in the first half, 12 weeks ago that would of gone straight in the bk of the net!

Bit late ain't it? It's a shame he didn't learn a few weeks ago.

Why can't you just admit that actually Pearson has nie on fooked things up? Not quite, but very nearly.

It won't make you an improper fan to admit it. Alternatively you could continue to defend pretty much the indefensible. Which is what you are doing.

And I say this as a bloke who highly rated Pearson but am not reticent to say he's dropped a few bollocks.

Try it, it won't kill you.

What is the point of going over the same old arguments though.

You and the other staunch Pearsonites are completely entrenched in your opinions and unwavering support for him, and it doesn`t matter how many times that reasons are given, for why we believe Pearson is not the man to take us forward, your just not going to agree with them.

You are all entitled to your opinions, and we are entitled to ours.

There would be nothing i would like more, than to come back at the end of the season, and say i was wrong, you were right.

That Pearson is the new messiah and is going to take us onto untold glory, because it will mean that we have been promoted, and despite what you might think, we actually all want the same thing, we just have different opinions as to what will give us the best chance of getting it.

This sums it up. Do you not read my posts? Or many peoples for that matter? I've never denied he's ****ed things up, he has yes, from the position we were in at the time we shouldn't have sunk this low. Yet you still treat me like a 'happy clapper'. This is it right here, Col.

Another indictment is the 'bit late now' comment. You truly are going into each season expecting promotion right there and then, aren't you? With Sven, Pearson, whoever's next, you'll be expecting big things instantly. I'm not really surprised. I think that's where our expectations have drifted off though.

But people that want him out are the ones repeatedly starting the same threads. It's them bringing up 'the old arguments'. Col posed a fair question though. 'You guys' can't just keep doing that in a we're-right-you're-wrong manner and then not actually have anything to bring to the table when people still disagree.

I support leicester city foremost, and the poor inconsistent season makes it hard to keep attending, managers and players come and go, but we all follow leicester.

I have never been a fan of Nigel Pearson but like all have supported him and leicester throughout, again because I support lcfc, but I am a believer that a manager and players should be judged on results, not on wether they are popular or not, and sorry to say this to the supporters that still think the current management and players are right to take the club forward, they need to start thinking with there heads not there hearts, I applaud your loyalty to np, and players but results don't lie.

Other than a couple of purple patches performances and results on a whole have been poor and inconsistent at best, and for long periods of the season we have had more losing runs than winning runs, so for me it's time for a change, but what concerns me is who could we get that would take us forward, and I am concerned that there is nobody out there who would realistically come to us and improve us, just don't want another bang average manager again, like mark Hughes for instance.

Mark Hughes isn't that bang average he has managed in the prem all of his managerial career how is that bang average?

I would say it is better than NP is it not?

I'm sorry guys and girls. Let me define 'happy clappers' as I see it.

Those people who, despite evidence to the contrary (eg stats, tactics, signings, their own observations) are unwilling even to enter into a meaningful debate on whether or not the manager, the team is currently letting us all down.

Those that appear to think that daring to criticise the manager (in this case) renders one 'disloyal' to the club and to the cause.

They will 'support' whatever, and by so doing, attempt to dumb down those who they feel aren't 'supporting' in this way. Criticism of the manager therefore becomes synonymous with 'not getting behind the boys' so to speak.

If there are no 'happy clappers' on this forum then I do apologise. But I suspect there are?

I've seen this on the forum particularly since the Sven days actually. Although it was obvious we weren't meeting expectation, many still lauded him and heavily criticised any murmurings of discontent.

This season, some of us saw the frailties starting earlier than others, and mentioned them. And were generally hit with criticism for bringing them up.

Why don't you name them instead of giving vague references, then maybe you could have the debate you wanted when you wrote this thread?
