Campbell is an enigma. One of the most inept strikers I've seen play for us, yet his goal return at most clubs (including plenty at this level) is actually fairly steady. No doubt he'll bag a few at Millwall and keep them up, shame really as the possible double whammy of both them and Holloway suffering relegation gets my tip wet.

"Steady" is the right word - his best ever goals return is 13 in his PL year with Blackpool

The writing off Burnley received is typical of the modern fan. If it was a bigger club with the exact same manager, players and performance then no-one would think twice about not taking them seriously.

Burnley have only won 4 league matches since October.

Barnsley, Blackpool, Huddersfield and Yeovil.

You'd be stupid to write them off as they've got an incredible amount of points on the board from their first 13 games but you've got to wonder if they've regressed to the mean. This isn't a 5 game blip, it's nearly 30% of a season in which they haven't beaten anybody of consequence.

That's why there's still a long way to go before we can think about promotion. We've won 6 on the spin and we're only a crap run ourselves from playing catch up with the top two again. If we win another 6 on the spin then we might just have a decent enough lead to hold on to.

This. Last year the promotion and play-off race came down to who bottled it the least, points being dropped left right and centre during the run-in. I very much doubt it will be like that again this year, we will have to keep winning.

Most people seem to think Burnley will slip away or they just rely on Ings. Tbh they have been fairly impressive this season. You dont only lose 3 and be unbeaten at home to this point by being a flash in the pan or by having just a good strike partnership.

Blackpool is an example of a flash in the pan..They are solid all over the park, maybe drawn 1 or 2 too many at home but maybe because they dont create as much as someone like us(better midfield and wingers..they dont have a dyer or knocky).

They are a good team though and IMO we wont go up if we have a hiccup and scrambe through, we will have to keep us our current form roughly to get over the line.

Roll on 29th March!

Yet they're still only 6 points behind us, meaning an upturn in form will have them right behind us again.

Really think Burnley are gonna start plummeting, looked terrible vs us.

Bit like Leeds, they rely too much on Ings like Leeds do McCormack.

I fancy us to get their playoff place  :trumpet:

Like I said, you don't know Freedman, you don't know the background information behind his move. We only see a manager move from club A to club B.

He turned Bolton around last year and was unlucky not to make the play offs. I personally expected them to be around the top 6 again this season but they're not. But that doesn't indicate anything for the future... Pardew did well in his first full season as Newcastle manager, nearly ended up in a relegation battle last season and is now doing a decent job again.

And why's it making him look silly and you look right? It's easy to say he shouldn't have moved when they are 18th.

I told you that I said that at the time. It was easy to say at the time, not just now.

I can't fathom a sensible reason why he would move to Bolton. I suspect it was for a) the money or b) because he thought Bolton was a step up as a club. If it turns out there was some other, personal reasons involving his family or something then I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. But it's a bit of a longshot of an attempt to defend him.

I'm not the only one who thought it was a stupid decision at the time, and I'm being proved right (assuming he made the decision for football reasons). It's rather silly for someone to come out with an inaccurate personal comment about me because I've said something that I suspect a lot of people would agree with.

He must be Freedman's dad or something.

I actually agree with that, i think Danny Ings will leave this window and without him there useless.

David Perkins signs for Blackpool. Perhaps not the best club to go to for someone looking for mid-table Championship football.

I looked at their squad early on and didn't believe they had the quality in there to keep it up, wrong so far but I'm still not convinced they'll be there all the way til the end of the season.

My friend who watches Burnley regularly tells me a number of players (Ings and Marney were names mentioned) looked tired because of the number of games they've played and their high tempo style of play. They don't seem to have a lot of depth in their squad in the way that QPR and ourselves do. IMO they're the most precarious out of the top three.

I'm amazed Tom Ince is still even at Blackpool.

I love my dad, but even if he was the manager of Blackpool and I was good at footy I'd say yeah thanks for everything dad but Blackpool are fúcking shite so I'm going to leave. No idea why it's taken so long for him to just force a transfer through. Blackpool is a crap place, play crap football, have crap players in a crap ground with crap fans and crap performance after crap performance. The slightest bit of Premier League interest, whether it was Cardiff, Swansea, Liverpool, Everton, whoever, surely it'd be so much better than Blackpool?!

They've been poor since late October and i thought they'd got rid of him a lot sooner. A couple of years ago it looked a decent post, but him not so sure now. I won't be surprised if they take a gamble on somebody like Karl Robinson at MK Dons, i believe he use to play for them.

Tom Ince's future at Blackpool looks bleak the only reason he stayed there was because his dad was the manager, with him gone there's nothing for him at Blackpool anymore. Won't be surprised if he joins either Everton or Villa before the end of the window.

I'd guess their record is something like 4-6-2, which isn't great but it's still been good enough to keep them near the top.

Didn't realise they were that much out of form though. If you consider we've won more league games since Christmas Day.

Burnleys problem is that they have a good starting 11, but the rest of the players they've got are pretty poor. One or two injuries (which is bound to happen in the second half of the season) and they are going to go into free fall. I cannot see them getting promoted this year, they just don't have the squad for it.

He's off to Monaco isn't he?

He's waiting till the summer. Contract expires, no transfer fee to sort out and him and his agent will absolutely rake it in through signing on fees and the like. I suppose the way he looks at it is another 6 months and he gets a massive pay day.

Apparently, that'll be interesting for sure.

I think I'd rather pay to leave than spend any more time than absolutely necessary in Blackpool.

His goals to games ratio for clubs other than us at this level really isn't to be sniffed at, about 1 in 3 which isn't bad considering he was a duffer for his time with us.

a lot of them seem to result from a stab in the dark

Can understand why Monaco would be doing that. Money's very tight there lol

Who says Monaco have got anything to do with it? Ince is just waiting until he's in a position where he can get the absolute most out of his move.

Ince has been sacked, nothing unexpected there. Early season form was the only reason he managed to survive into the new year in my opinion.

Tom Ince sure to go now?

Although I'm no fan of his management style, I think Ince has been treated a little unfairly if I'm really honest.

It's definitely not the same team that nearly stayed-up in the Prem that's for sure and that's because the Owners (The Oystons) will not invest. Holloway knew it and jumped ship as quick as he could, promise after promise was broken and with that most of his side knew it too and jumped ship just after looking for better terms and contracts.

If you look at Blackpool's team now I'd say only 3/4 players are currently of Championship standard, the rest are either League 1 standard who they got cheap/free or players nobody else wants to sign so Blackpool managed to snap them up under Oyston's meager terms without paying agents.

I agree agents are greedy and football could do without them but if you refuse to deal with them quality/decent players won't sign for your club and then word gets spread on the grapevine that Blackpool is only a club to sign for if your desperate.

That said you also won't get decent players without forking out a little on transfer fee's which The Oystons also refuse to do, they mainly rely on loans, yet they are probably one of the wealthiest clubs in the Championship so why is their squad so bare bones with minimal backroom staff and a training ground only fit for league 2 or below.

Ince only stepped in when Holloway left as nobody else wanted the job, 4 managers turned the job down before Ince took the helm and he probably only did it to look after his son's own interests, he went to nearly every game anyway to watch Tom play so why not he probably thought, so I'm sure he's not too bothered as he knows his son will be off either this window or in the summer but imo his hands were completely tied and most probably with broken promises from greedy owners who use the club to siphon off money to line their own pockets.

If I were a manager I'd go nowhere near that job it's a shambolic set-up, yet Oyston still thinks Blackpool are the envy of the football league. The man is fcuking deluded.
