jonthefox Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 Maybe.......... http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/preston-haskell-bids-buy-coventry-3860193
jonthefox Posted 17 May 2013 Author Posted 17 May 2013 Who cares about them? Never done anything for years. ooh fook me, i apologize . Fancy putting a 'general' football story in the 'general' football thread.
Wymsey Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 It wasn't directed at you. Directed towards Coventry City.
LJS Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 They've confirmed that they won't be playing at the Ricoh next season. I genuinely feel sorry for them. It's all well and good taking the piss out of them for having no fans but the city's industry was decimated and they have no money to spend on football. It wasn't so long ago that they managed 34 unbroken seasons in the top flight, including an FA Cup win; more than we've ever done on both counts. What has happened to Coventry could easily happen to us or any other similarly sized club. It only takes the wrong set of circumstances to conspire.
SystonFox Posted 17 May 2013 Posted 17 May 2013 Which half of the stadium would they play in? Left or right? North or south? Cov don't have enough fans to fill half of half the stadium so I wouldn't worry about it Jonny America the 6th
Fox92 Posted 18 May 2013 Posted 18 May 2013 I hope it happens to be honest... Not nice seeing a club, especially a club like Coventry they are fairly big, go the way they are. Would be great to see the likes of ourselves, Forest, Derby and Coventry all back in the top flight again (as long as we were always above them!).
rico Posted 18 May 2013 Posted 18 May 2013 still in the shit according to Sky,but they are looking to build a new ground...... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11719/8719220/Coventry-plan-to-build-new-stadium-after-departure-from-Ricoh-Arena
MPH Posted 18 May 2013 Posted 18 May 2013 still in the shit according to Sky,but they are looking to build a new ground...... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11719/8719220/Coventry-plan-to-build-new-stadium-after-departure-from-Ricoh-Arena I'm wondering if that statement is more of a chess move.... An attempt to secure a much lower rent that they have been after for a long time.. they are probably banking on the idea that the council and ACL will be left with a nice shiney stadium but with no one to be paying money towards. Im guessing the owners of the stadium are yet to make their money back on it...
Guesty Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Dunno if this is real or not. Insurance job! Edit: It's a band practicing apparently. Pyrotechnics and all that.
ThurmastonFox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Probably not real, nothing on the BBC, Skysports or in Morrisons...
SystonFox Posted 20 May 2013 Posted 20 May 2013 Muse are sound checking and practicing pyro for the gig on Wednesday which I am attending. Cannot wait. Best reason to go to the Ricoh ever
