Granno Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Got Databases and Web Apps on Wednesday, Java on Thursday, then the biggest pub crawl ever. Good times.
C-man Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 This week may well kill me. Maths for Economics tomorrow evening, should be able to pass the module on previous results and first two simple questions on the exam. Economics (Micro and Macro) on Wednesday afternoon - possible fail. Did okay on Coursework but that's not worth enough to safeguard a pass. So much to learn. Accounting - It's not actually that hard, but after only going to 2 out of 10 lectures, I'm having to learn it all and the exam is on Friday morning after I see Oasis/Kasabian/The Enemy all day on Thursday. Lots of luck needed me thinks.
Joe. Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Oh History, I failed it at AS, got put in A2 class, then didnt do much work, then moved back down to AS, then kicked out of that cos I didnt do much work for it either.I finished forever like 2 weeks ago But now I have to find another job, or anther college <_< Glad to see you used those two years of your life well then.
syston_fox Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 1 down 2 to go.Fairly satisfied with this mornings examination. Bloody hell - didn't realise that these had started yet. When are the other two? Thankfully mines the last one going on the 10th.
Tommeh Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 1st exam free summer in 3 years, it's lovely... I'll be bricking it for the 3 coming however at uni.

Thats what i face Friday. Wish i was sitting your exam, although i would still somehow not get 100% Heres some advice, don't do A Level Maths

Guest Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Heres some advice, don't do A Level Maths He tells me now, 20 yrs too late.
StanSP Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 English Language paper 1........................... o dear I remember for GCSEs turning up 15 mins late for that exam (thought it was an afternoon exam). Topic - Big Brother <_< Ended up getting A* though
Guest Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 I remember for GCSEs turning up 15 mins late for that exam (thought it was an afternoon exam).Topic - Big Brother <_< Ended up getting A* though And they say exams are getting easier........
Asha Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Turned up today thinking the exam was at 9. Turned out it's at 2. So I had to walk back home, and then got to walk back up there for 2.
DB11 Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 I'm glad I have my referee watch Section A spend 55 minutes on. After 55 minutes I had done 3 of 4 questions so I moved onto section b. My reason for this was that fourth question was worth 10 marks however section B was worth 40 marks (two 20 mark questions). I completed section B, albeit quickly scribbling an end (I never knew the phrase "You have five minutes remaining" can make you panic and sweat ) so came to a crap ending. Then I did loads of bullet points for the A4 question so wonder if I'll get even one mark Turned up today thinking the exam was at 9.Turned out it's at 2. So I had to walk back home, and then got to walk back up there for 2. Why not just wait at school and do some revision?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Had History A-Level today all about the American Civil War, not to difficult thank god.
Benji Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Then I did loads of bullet points for the A4 question so wonder if I'll get even one mark People on the Management course at our uni could write their law module in bullet points, so I'm sure you'll be fine for GCSEs. In fact, I briefly remember back to one teacher telling us to do it for GCSEs if you struggled.
Granno Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 I'm quietly confident about Databases and Web Applications tomorrow
Pricey Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Imagine doing that same maths calculator exam.Only approximately 100 times harder than the exam your doing. Thats what i face Friday. Wish i was sitting your exam, although i would still somehow not get 100% Heres some advice, don't do A Level Maths Good advice, got one more exam in it then im dropping it, AS that is. GCSE is absolutley nothing compared!
StanSP Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Good advice, got one more exam in it then im dropping it, AS that is. GCSE is absolutley nothing compared! Agreed with most other subjects too. The jump between GCSE subjects and A-Level subjects is ridiculous. At our school they are changing syllabuses so I don't know if this will affect anything.
Pricey Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Agreed with most other subjects too. The jump between GCSE subjects and A-Level subjects is ridiculous. At our school they are changing syllabuses so I don't know if this will affect anything. Yeah needs to be changed in some way. For example at school we did a fairly easy general science course for gcse, now I do biology and its a huuuge step. Geography and German hasn't been quite as big though.
StanSP Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Our school's excuse for the big jump was that 'it gets you ready for uni'. I'm all for that, but at least do it in stages .
Pricey Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Our school's excuse for the big jump was that 'it gets you ready for uni'.I'm all for that, but at least do it in stages . haha exactly.
DB11 Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 I'm going to be doing a level math Along with IT, English Lang. and History
Tommeh Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Tom, thought you had Comms re-take? Uni accepted me without it. Bollocks to revising when I could be earning and paying £30 for it.
ousefox Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Yeah needs to be changed in some way. For example at school we did a fairly easy general science course for gcse, now I do biology and its a huuuge step. Geography and German hasn't been quite as big though. Do you go to a school in York? If so which one?
Pricey Posted 2 June 2009 Posted 2 June 2009 Do you go to a school in York? If so which one? Your from York too! cant be many leicester fans apart from us. Yeah I'm at York College, how about you?
