Bert Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 No they did not! Eight loan players in the first eleven. Wrong. Ownership of several clubs. Wrong. Acquiring players for nothing and generally abusing the competition. Wrong. Watford's behaviour this season has been about as far from morality in footballing terms as you will ever see. I'm absolutely ecstatic the cheats have failed. Go any further over the top and you'll tip over. All these statements that you've announced as "wrong" we're actually within the laws or else they'd not have been allowed to happen.

All these statements that you've announced as "wrong" we're actually within the laws or else they'd not have been allowed to happen. They are wrong, morally wrong. Perverting the competition. I've said many times that the rules aren't written correctly anyway and I continue to believe that, just because something is allowed doesn't mean it's right.

I've said many times that the rules aren't written correctly anyway and I continue to believe that, just because something is allowed doesn't mean it's right. There's no room for morals in football. Just because you've said something doesn't mean that it's right. The fact is, Watford haven't broken any rules, regardless of what you say
Guest Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Don't be a twat Bert, it's clear the lad has a point. It is morally corrupt to own several clubs and then loan players between those clubs. By your reckoning it's fine that Apple have managed their accounts in such a way as several billion doesn't exist under the tax jurisdiction of ANY country?

The fact is, Watford haven't broken any rules, regardless of what you say Indeed they have not and I repeat once more that that doesn't make it right. But of course, no morals in football, how silly of me to dislike improper behaviour. I like to speak out against things I think are wrong and will continue to do so.

You're entitled to think what you want. Again, if they've not broken any rules I don't see myself how it's "improper".
Guest Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 In the same way it's not improper to tart yourself around as in the know (even with local radio stations) long after your contacts up and left...

The Doctor Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 You're entitled to think what you want. Again, if they've not broken any rules I don't see myself how it's "improper". Take FFP coming in - it's not against the rules for us to get around it by putting in a load more money via shirt and stadium sponsorship so that it's not classed as a loan from the chairman. We'd not have broken any rules, but it's hardly proper conduct, it makes a mockery of the idea of FFP - in much the same way watfinese have made a mockery of the loan system and abused it.
smudgerfox Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 You borrowed your team You borrowed your teeeeeaaam From Udinese You borrowed your team

wight88 Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Taking some of these arguments to their logical conclusion those of us that have ever paid a chippy or a sparky in cash should be handing ourselves in at the local nick.
Finnaldo Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Que sera, sera, Wherever you'll be, you'll be, Fook off back to Italy, Watford FC.
yorkie1999 Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Read in the paper today that Holloway says the football league are changing the rules for next season. Wondered if this is true or not, because if it is it was obviously an oversight that no one actually realised it would happen.

I think it will happen yes... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2280788/Football-League-bosses-tighten-loan-rules-Watfords-farce.html The Hertfordshire club, third in the Championship under Gianfranco Zola, have 11 players on loan, seven of them internationals. League clubs are being urged to vote against the strategy at their annual meeting this summer. Watford have seven players on loan from Udinese and two from Granada as well as Nathaniel Chalobah (Chelsea) and Geoffrey Bia (Standard Liege). Continental: Gianfranco Zola has brought in players from Udinese and Granada The Football League fear the system is being abused and Watford are being turned into a nursery club by their owners. In an attempt to discourage others, the League will also tighten the rules on sell-on clauses next season to stop those wanting to get round loan deals by signing players on free transfers and agreeing ‘100 per cent’ sell-on clauses. They intend to pass a motion that a selling club must receive at least 50 per cent of the transfer fee. The League were taken by surprise last summer when Watford began to fill their squad with signings from Pozzo’s two Continental clubs. Joel Ekstrand (Sweden), Bia (Belgium), Marco Cassetti (Italy), Almen Abdi (Switzerland) and Matej Vydra and Daniel Pudil (both Czech Republic) have all been capped. bluesbrothers Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Number 1 has gone home. Number 2 has gone home. Number 3 has gone home. You get the idea. For anyone at vicarage road. Perfection. I think it will happen yes... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2280788/Football-League-bosses-tighten-loan-rules-Watfords-farce.html As much as I can't wait to see Watford crash and burn next season, I've just read, for the first time, a bloody intelligent comment on a Daily Mail article: Your comments: Totally agree. The loan system needs a total overhaul. Imagine a situation where a club like say Crystal Palace, could sell their top talent in Jan to Man U for £15m. Then immediately loan him back for the rest of the season plus have the cash to add to the squad. Then get in KP as any emergency loan. That would be a farce. That is spot on. But even so, CP were by a MASSIVE margin the lesser of two evils in todays match, and I'm as happy as a pig in muck right now. Even if Zaha has been downright crap since his sale to Man U.
flowwolf Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Anyone notice that big fat old has been Elton in the stands , that made me laugh more than the result.
Strokes Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Glad Watford lost, even before the play offs the whole loan situation didn't sit right. And didn't like the whole "Football Snobbery" of their fans shouting "hoof" every time the ball left the grass in the semi even though there most successful managers in recent years have been Graham Taylor and Aidy Boothroyd! Pleased for Palace, Had a good time when I have watched us at Selhurst Park their fans are friendly and create a good atmosphere. Who wants friendly at football??? Seriously
Super_horns Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 I knew such antics would come back to bite us! As to regard the loan situation... Last rumour I read was only allowed 1 or 2 overseas players.. Not is confirmed yet though...meeting in June I understand - probably know by about the end of August then.

Its a good thing that we as a club haven't ever profited from legal yet morally dubious behavior, got other clubs and fans in a strop and resulted in a rule change. This outrage would look a bit hypocritical
Frankie Z Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 He's one of our loansHe's one of our loaaaaaans Oh look another loophole He's one of our loans.

This outrage would look a bit hypocritical Indeed. I fully agree with you there. If we'd have gone up last season then we'd be backed into a corner on this topic. Although I'm having a tough time chatting with Forest fans who have pointed out we weren't exactly well behaved ten years ago with our debt problems.
john ridley Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 We're Faggotts , Faggotts, Faggotts And thats the way we like it, like it, like it Are players are going Back home, Back home, Back home And now we are ****ed up, ****ed up, ****ed up OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHH OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH nice one ,sums em up to a tee
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 May 2013 Posted 27 May 2013 Where's your loan players? Where's your loan players? Fvcking cheating bastards, we know what you are! Wouldn't that be kinda' ironic?
